As a beginner watercolor artist, I've appreciated the loose curriculum approach and activities Tom prepares, as well as the chance to do my own thing and learn how to paint something that inspires me. At this life stage a flexible schedule is high on my list so I'm loving that the class is offered in a way that I can tailor it to my calendar & I'm not out money if I can't attend a class every week. New to the area and really needed a root touch up and a haircut. Decided I wanted to stop using a…read morecoloring process which left me with a hard line of new growth every 4-5 weeks. After discussion with an advanced student and the supervisor educator stylist we decided to use foils and lighten everything to a silver, same color as my new growth. Then every 4-6 weeks that same process would be repeated until all hair was the same color. A quick hair trim and blow dry was included. I was very pleased with the outcome and that they were able to recommend a plan to transition to an all gray color down the road. Cosmetology school prices are seriously reasonable, no matter the budget you have. A full range of services is offered and they use top of the line quality Redken products. Two of which were facials, and one was a chemical peel preformed by Kaylynn L. After mentioning a little bit of my background, you would understand the relief I've felt when these appointments/products have tremendously made a difference on my face and my confidence. Not only have these products boosted my confidence, but Kaylynn has as well. In the past I have used many facial products and felt that none of them had made a change, but Kaylynn's products that she has recommended has changed my view entirely on facial care. She seems to know my facial type pretty well, and lessens my anxiety by walking me through each process step-by-step indicating this is truly her passion and she excels at it! My self esteem and I are so grateful to witness her progress at TPSA. She is truly amazing at what she does!! :)

The Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory was a place I didn't get to spend a lot of time while in the downtown area, but I did enjoy the time I got to spend there. The conservatory has three indoor gardens and 1,000 varieties of plans (and 2,000+ plants). You can see cacti, palms, a chocolate tree and more. The conservatory was started by News-Sentinel publisher Helene Foellinger and Bill Sowers, a Fort Wayne attorney. The two often visited gardens and wanted Fort Wayne to have a similar experience. The conservatory opened in 1983 and houses 24,500 square feet of indoor gardens, four outdoor gardens, and is owned/operated by the Fort Wayne Parks and Rec department with charitable support. Fun fact 1: A beefsteak begonia was the first plant installed. Fun fact 2: In February 2024, the Conservatory had its three millionth visitor. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for youth (3-17), and free for ages 2 and under. There's a $1 Thursdays deal from 5-8pm and there's no admission fee for the cafe, conservatory shop, or sales garden. There's venue rental available and quite a few classes to take. I generally found things accessible - maybe a bit iffy in a couple spots, but I could generally function just fine. I will say I didn't quite explore everything as I was on a schedule, but for what I experienced I really enjoyed it and could get where I wanted to get.
