I was astonished by the amount of body wash, shampoo and moisturizing lotion it carries. I thought that I would have to choose from two different scents, but instead I needed to choose the brand first. It sells all the popular names such as Nivea, Johnson and Johnson, Raddox, Vaseline and Dove. All bottles cost only 2 Euro. I was so excited I bought all kinds of stuff to pamper myself. I ended up saving a lot of time by coming here. Instead of having to stop at the hardware shop, I was able to find double-sided tape here. Because it's located in front of the Luas, I didn't have to lug my shopping home either. The Euro Store on Abbey Street is a real life-saver.

I buy a lot of party supplies here, you can buy balloons and have them filled with helium and ready for collection within a few hours. The staff are helpful although they always seem to have a lot to do. The store is huge, with a turnstile to come in and an exit barrier to leave, for security I guess. If you need anything for a specific holiday coming up, they'll have it. Right now, there's a wall dedicated to Easter and St. Patrick's day. They have a great school supply section, along with Art & Craft. It's very handy! Be careful, though, you could end up spending a lot in here. It's easy to forget how much you're spending because everything is cheap but it all adds up at the end. Overall, this is a one stop shop, so if you're ever in need of anything, Mr. Price will have it!

If you are a camping nut or just enjoy being outside, this place is worthy of a stop in. Their stuff is really excellent and fun to just look at a wish for, as I do. They have completely rearranged the store and it's honestly a million times better now and definitely in a much more presentable state for a shop on O'Connell Street. Homewares are now located upstairs instead of in the basement, and there is a couch area across from the changing rooms at the back of the store for people to take a little rest which is a really nice and sophisticated addition, I don't think I've ever seen a seating area in any Penneys store besides at the shoes. Great area, same up to date stock as Mary Street store and saves you having to tip off down there if you're in a rush.

The range of useful and not-so-useful items, from superglue to headphones and anything in between, makes you either want to run out or dig into the pockets to see how many bargains you can make. That's exactly what I hate about these kind of shops. I always end up buying some crap I don't need just because it's cheap. How can I not buy new kitchen utensils when they costs only € 2? Or a 3-Euro knitted ear-warmer? It's cold out there you know. Poundwise can be handy when looking for a casual present. Right, so the know the way that TK Maxx is great idea (cheap clothes and low prices and all that…read morelark). But, you'll also not have failed to notice that it doesn't work out that well in practice - a scrum of people rifling through aisles and aisles of clothing, everyone getting all sweaty and bothered before they try on the t-shirt that you were thinking of buying. Eew. And the TK Maxx in the Pavilions in Swords was no different to the other ones all the other times that I've been there, except that you can't go to a nice coffee shop to recuperate afterwards, as you are in the hell that is a gargantuan suburban shopping centre, and you have to make do with a shitty and soulless Kay's Kitchen. Double eew. All of that changed earlier on today, however. For this morning (Monday) I went to TK Maxx in Swords and hardly recognised the place. There were literally only about another twenty or thirty in this vast shop, so there wasn't the usual feverish mill that one associates with the chain. I was there a little over an hour, and in that time, I managed to pick out and purchase 4 jumpers (in the summer, I know, I'm a tool. And they were all knitwear into the bargain.) Within this relatively small window, I also tried on but rejected about six t-shirts. You know when you have one of those days with the TK Maxx t-shirt aisle? Yeah, it was one of those days. This sparseness of shoppers makes sense, though: people would tend to be in town during the week, and so might stop off at TK Maxx and make it all horrible and crowded and sweaty. Whereas people only go to horrible retail monstrosities like the Pavilions at the weekends. So, if you want to stock up on your cheap designer labels, head out to 'burbs on a weekday morning and escape a little of the drudgery.
