DO NOT HIRE!!! We hired John Deangelis of Deangelis Concrete to remove and replace our front walkway in August of 2021. The work completed by Deangelis concrete was flawed for a number of reasons. The cobblestone stamp work that was done had numerous defects. There were many places where the stamp was not aligned properly, leaving gaps, and defects in the pattern. When we pointed out these defects, John Deangelis admitted he made a mistake and tried to fix it with a grinding tool, but only made things worse, leaving deep gouges in the new walkway and removing the coloring of the concrete. There were also many places where the concrete was left with extremely rough edges, corners, and gaps in the concrete where the steps met. In addition to the variety of aesthetic defects, the slope of the stairs is very uneven, and in some places so steep it poses a safety risk. When we had the job quoted we discussed and confirmed multiple times with John Deangelis that we wanted the stairs to be level to avoid safety risks in slick conditions. The slope of some of the steps is more than 14%. (recommended slopes for such a walkway is 2-5%) These steps are truly hazardous when snow and ice are present. . When we told John Deangelis we were unhappy with his work and that we would like a refund he refused. When we tried to have follow-up discussions regarding the matter via the email provided on his business card (drodrigues082@gmail.com). John Deangelis responded to our first email. Then after several attempts to follow up, the person responding to the emails all of a sudden claimed to have no connection to John Deangelis. Ultimately Deangelis Concrete declared they would no longer communicate with us. When Deangelis Concrete refused to refund our money or to communicate further with us, we had multiple other concrete and masonry professionals evaluate the new walkway. The consensus among all of them was that the work is flawed and the best course of action was removal and replacement of the walkway In light of this, we took the matter to small claims court to try and recover our money. In March 2022 the courts ruled in our favor based on the evidence we presented. Now, 6 months later, in spite of the court ruling, Deangelis concrete is still refusing to pay the court-ordered damages. Now, In addition to all the issues with the initial installation listed above, it's been just over a year and substantial cracks are beginning to form in the walkway. This is, by far, the worst experience we have had with any contractor performing work on our home. TLDR: Deangelis Concrete = Unprofessional Poor Quality Work DO NOT HIRE! read more

Did a TERRIBLE job on our front walkway steps. They are cracking, not level, and not sealed properly. We have to pay to have them removed and redone because they are a safety hazard. We've been trying to get our money back for a year. He just ignores us and pretends we have the wrong number/email. So unprofessional! Stay away!!! read more

We called Sam at Modern Paving who came to our Taunton home to give us an estimate. He talked us into re-paving all of our asphalt and although his price was a little steep, it sounded like he knew what he was doing so we gave him the job, to the tune of $9,980.00. On 3/4/2024 they came to do the job we gave him a check made out to him and not to the company. It really looked good when they were done. None of the old asphalt was remove because nothing was crumbling so they re-paved over the old material. Fast forward one year later, I noticed that there was a couple of cracks in the new asphalt. I called Sam and he stopped by to look at it. He told us that he could "fix" the cracks and that we should have a seal coat put on. We agreed and on 3/24/2025 we gave him another check to the tune of $3,000.00 made out to him and not to the company. He brought his worker over and supposedly "fixed" the cracks and put down the seal coat. Fast forward once again. Here we are on February 15, 2026 and the cracks are back again! This time, I will fill in the cracks myself. We NEVER want to see him on our property again. And as far as his "advertisement sign" that he left here a year ago, it's going in the recycle bin. We called and asked him to pick up his sign twice, always making that promise that he would stop by for it but never showing up. Perhaps he never showed up because the work that he does doesn't hold up to what he charges. We've given him a total of $12,980.00 from our savings. He should be ashamed of the business that he does and especially doing it to senior citizens!!

I was on the Pike, at the rest stop in Natick, trying to put air in my tires. 3 of them were easy to handle but one of them seemed to only let air out, and not in. It's a tire that's only a few months old, but I couldn't make it work. I went it and asked at the gas station mini-mart but of course, no one there knew anything about cars or tires. So I walked into the lobby of the rest stop and simply announced loudly "Is there anyone here who know about tires and putting air in them? I've tried and all it does is take the air out." From way across the room, a man got up and came over to me. I said "Do you know about tires and air"? He replied, "My wife said I don't know much about anything, but I'll try to help you." He came out and discovered something was wrong with the valve but using quite a bit of strength to push it in, he was able to get the tire to take air. I asked him if I could buy him lunch and he told me his wife as already doing that inside, but just to do something nice for someone else.

I hired Leo to paint my house and two rooms a little less than two years ago. Leo was initially…read morevery responsive and gave me a quote for the outside but lost the info for the inside rooms and ended up coming back to give me a quote for those. His quote for the exterior was about 50-60% less than any other contractor, interior was about the same or a little less. After that point, he told me he would be able to come in about two weeks (or very soon). He ended up not responding to me every time I would reach out and ask about it and it wasn't until about 2-3 months later that he came to do the job. I basically had to chase him to figure out when it would be done which was extremely stressful. When he was ready to do it, he literally told me the day of that he wanted to come and start working, even though I had asked him for a few days notice. He is very bad with communication, unless you get him at a good time for him. His workers did a good job on my house and I was happy with the job, but after a year and 9 months, my house started peeling and bubbling. I am not sure if this is because of the work done or just because of my house. Leo responded to me telling about it initially and said he would come look at it, but then proceeded to ghost me and not respond to any further messages. Basically, he will respond to an initial communication and come right then, but anything after that he will ignore and not follow up on. He is nice in person, and his workers all did a great job, but I am now disappointed. He doesn't stand behind his work and not responding to people you are working for is disrespectful.
