I have had the opportunity to see all 3 doctors in the Sugarland OB/GYN Associates practice over the course of several years being a patient. Dr. McDonald has been my main doctor, but I have had a few appointments with Dr. Patel as well (would highly recommend him too). Dr. McDonald delivered my two daughters who now are both patients of hers. She has a very calm demeanor and is very knowledgeable about the latest advances in the field. She put both my daughters at ease at their first appointments. Her staff is friendly and some have been there for as long as I have been a patient (20+ years). Highly recommend! read more

She is literally amazing. No one enjoys getting a pap, she made me feel super comfortable and explained everything she was doing. Quick and easy. She is very knowledgeable and concerned with all of your needs. Makes suggestions and lets YOU decide what is best for YOU! Check in, wait, nurse check ups, plus a dr visit is a super fast process. I'm always in and out within a half hour. I recommend her to my friends when they ask!! read more

The first time I went to see Dr. McDonald I was nervous because I was with my old doctor for so long and I absolutely adored her. But because I moved to Texas I had to find a new office. My sister in law goes to another doctor in the same office so that is what made me try this office. Now my sis in law goes to a male dr and I'm not really comfortable with that so I chose Dr. McDonald. The first time I went to the office it was extremely busy. Maybe because it was a Monday. After sitting for a few minutes they made the announcement that my doctor had to leave for an emergency c-section. I understood but at the same time I was kind of upset. So they gave us the option to see another doctor or come back. I chose to see another doctor And he was pretty cool. I was only in there for 10 minutes but it didnt bother me that much because 1-he wasnt my doctor and 2-he had his patients along with my doctors patients. Fast forward to me finally getting to meet Dr. McDonald, she is so sweet and made me feel so welcome. She answered all of my questions & listened to my concerns. She gives you hugs & just connects with you. What I also love about her is she doesnt keep me waiting long. I am truly happy with my decision & I will be going to her as long as I can. read more

I got to my appointment 15 minutes early yet still had to wait 30 minutes. I was getting ready to go say something then they called me in. The nurse wasn't too friendly...took my weight and BP, asked about meds, told me what to put on and left. Maybe she was having a bad day. I changed and a few minutes later Dr. McDonald came right in. She sat down and we talked about concerns first then the whole pap took about 3 minutes. It was the easiest and most comfortable pap I've ever had!! She even gave me a hug at the end saying she hoped to see more of me because we are trying to get pregnant. I would of given the office 5 stars because of Dr. McDonald. Love, love, love Dr. McDonald and her office! Never had an issue and was always taken care of in a timely manner! My entire family goes to her and never had an issue since we became patients of hers. Before I got pregnant she always helped me with my needs and questions about fertility, when I got pregnant she helped me with all the crazy and wacky first time pregnant mom questions I had! Never had an issue with the front desk ladies, nurses, and other ladies in the office! I also like the fact she wanted me to meet her associates (Dr. Patel and Dr. Le) if I delivered early. I highly recommend Dr. McDonald to my friends I have never been more pleased since my last doctor and the horrific issues I had with them. Very disappointed in my visit. Not a friendly place. The desk ladies were rude. My time is very important, just like the drs that want to charge a missed appointment fee.. yet I should be refunded for time wasted on waiting. That's the reason for appointments. I showed up on time with all paperwork filled out. Parked in right spot. Big issue with cars getting towed. Put my time clock on my phone when I walked in. It took over 35 minutes to get into room. 25 minutes to see McDonald, as she and others are laughing at me and what's in my chart. They where talking so loud I could here them sure other could too. She spent less than 10 minutes with me. Refuse to do blood work on me per my request. You would think it would be part of exam. She did exam very poorly and fast. I have a issue that she should of noticed and didn't. That's when I knew she is a fraud. This lady is a joke.. women's care shouldn't be rushed through. Every patient should be treated as your first one. Nobody even knowledge me when I came out of the exam room.. nothing.. not even a thank you or have a nice day.. nothing.... If you don't like your job... quit. I feel sorry for all and any future patients. Karma is a wonderful thing....... read more

It took going to a practice where things are done well and very professionally to realize that this practice is absolutely terrible. Long wait times without much explanation. Dr. McDonald is very disingenuous (came into first appointment hugging me like we were long lost friends), and she made several recommendations for unnecessary practices during my pregnancy---told me that if I didn't plan an induction I would have a large baby?! My baby was born 1 day early and weighed just under 7lbs. Since leaving I've learned countless stories from other women who point to terrible experiences with her which surprised me because she came highly recommended initially. If you're looking for a professional practice that values your opinion and takes you seriously as a patient, this is not the place. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. McDonald's for almost 2 decades. She is warm, concerned, and always upbeat. If you are there for a routine well-woman exam, she keeps you informed of what she is doing at all times and keeps the conversation going to help things go smoothly. If you have concerns, she will sit and listen and provide solutions, reasons, etc. She is always ready to listen. read more

Dr. McDonald is nice enough, but I was super unimpressed with the closure of my C-section scar. I don't know if she closed the incision or let someone else do it, but it was awful. One end of it opened up the night of my delivery and when I showed it to Dr. McDonald when she was rounding, she said it would eventually heal (?!) I went back to her 3 times over the next month to address it and she did nothing to fix the problem. My scar was so bad that I had to have a plastic surgeon fix it. I think that if you're so busy that wait times are 45 minutes to an hour and you can't be bothered to properly close an incision, you probably should re-evaluate your practice. I would definitely find another OBGN if you don't like waiting or might need to have a C-section. read more

Wow - what a difference! After 15 years with my OB/GYN in the med center, I needed to make a change - my former doc was so far away after we moved to Sugar Land, plus had to pay for parking, etc and always seemed to have to run to the hospital, which meant rescheduling, paying for parking a second time... just was tired of that... So, although nervous about the switch with my complicated medical history, I went for my first appt. with Dr. McDonald. Wow - efficient, pleasant nurses, very nice and welcoming doctor - and FREE parking! Outstanding! So glad I made the switch - no regrets! I know parking isn't that big of a deal, but after so many years of paying, it was nice to not have to pay any more! read more

I love Dr. McDonald! She's a popular lady, every time I have been here I have had to wait 20-30 minutes past my appointment time to even be called into a room. Her staff is friendly and polite. I had 3 c-sections and have been to 3 different ob/gyn, including a top rate high-risk one. None can compare to Dr. McDonald's bedside manner and the ease I immediately felt with her. She did not rush through her appointment and took the time to listen to my concern. She's the first doctor who took my concerns seriously and offer a course of tests. She made me as comfortable as I can through my exam and gave me a surprising hug before she leaves. You can't fake that kind of sincerity. Her staff are also the friendliest I've ever encouter from any medical office. I have given up on customer service at the medical office until I came to the Fort Bend Ob/GYN office. From the time I arrive, they are all very courteous and friendly. I let them know so when I left. :) read more

I love Dr McDonald. She is pretty awesome and funny. She had to look after me while dr Patel was on vacation. She was so great! Sometimes you do have to wait a while at their practice, but 90% of the time they are delivering a baby. The front desk staff is very good communicating delays to you. read more

She's nice but the office is always SO behind on appointments and visits are extremely rushed. I went in for an annual exam and had a specific concern. The concern was sort of addressed but she skipped the rest of the exam and was headed out the door. I should have stopped her but I was just kind of done with it at that point. That seems to be par for the course for this entire office. Too rushed for proper care and it feels like a baby factory, if you aren't pregnant they don't have time for you but they'll still take your insurance money for the annual exam they didn't do. No one even asked for an updated health history and I hadn't seen her in a few years since I went with a midwife for my last pregnancy so it was definitely out of date. The only reason she gets any stars is for bedside manner but I don't trust the level of care here and I won't be going back. read more

Love her to pieces! Have seen her for over 10 years and is the ONLY ob/gyn who listened to the specific problem I had. She helped me get treatment and all's well! Note to any woman who ends up waiting for a long time in any on/gyn office...babies are unpredictable and you never know when an emergency might come up. You would want your doctor to give you the same attention if you were in crisis. I went in for my 2 week appt following the birth of my son and I had to wait for over an hour because all 3 docs were delivering babies! It happens. I was given the option to come back in the afternoon, but I decided to wait. Great doc, listens, and is very personable. Great sense of humor too! read more

Sugar Land OB/GYN and associates ... This is the most unprofessional experience I've ever had. I regret the day I googled this place. I called them to schedule a routine Well Woman's Exam. When I get there, they again ask me what I'm there for. I again tell them I'm there for a routine exam. They write it down, it's on my chart and they lead me to an exam room. The doctor was Dr. Niraj Patel. However, instead of doing the papsmear that I was there for, he did a pelvic exam. When he took his gloves off I asked what happened because I've had many paps and that wasn't normal. He told me that the nurse would be right with me. I'm clueless as to whether I should get dressed or if he were going to return to complete what I came in for. She enters the room and tells me to get dressed. At this point I'm completely confused because I still hadn't had my Papsmear. I'm then led to a payment area where I'm told to pay $244.75 for a pelvic exam. I explain that this is a routine exam that's covered 100% by my insurance company. The receptionist then tells me that he didn't do a Papsmear and that the pelvic exam was $244.75. I then ask for the original nurse who verified that I was there for a Papsmear. They ask me to sit in the waiting room in the back office area. Another woman approached me and again told me that although she understood that I was there for a Papsmear, I received a pelvic exam instead and again told me the amount. At this point I'm irritated because I didn't get what I came for and am now being charged for something that I never requested and was not told that there was a change of plans. They then take me to the office manager who threatened to put the charges on my credit report BEFORE even attempting to ask me what happened. As soon as I sat down she said "ma'am we need this payment or I'll report you to the credit agencies." It was offensive to say the least. This woman never introduced herself or asked me any questions. It was the most aggressive FOUR HOURS I've ever spent just trying to get a Well Woman's Exam in my life. She then said "can we just get her back there for a Papsmear?" But the doctor said it wouldn't come back right because of the gel he used during the pelvic exam. I went ahead and got the Papsmear and paid for the pelvic exam in order to leave because they were basically a room of bullies. A MONTH LATER, I receive a phone call telling me that I need to come in for the results. I get there and the RECEPTIONIST begins to read my results back loudly IN THE WAITING AREA that had at least 8 other people there. I ask her if there was a more private area because I'm not sure what the results were and whether they were good or bad, I didn't want them read in front of an audience. I'm taken to exam room 8 where a nurse proceeds to read my results at super sonic speeds. I asked her to please explain it to me and she said "basically, your results are abnormal and you need a culpo". I asked what was abnormal and she honestly said, "you can GOOGLE what the words mean but you need to pay for the visit before I can elaborate. You need a 'culpo' because you could have cancer but the doctor isn't here to do it. He's in a delivery and I don't know when he'll be back." After realizing that I was about to be charged for my Papsmear results! ... I politely left the office and called my insurance company to tell them what was going on. Needless to say, I've filed an appeal with my insurance company because they forced me to pay for a service I never requested and was never told I was getting. I'm appalled at the rudeness and lack of professionalism at this office. Dr. Patel, however, was super friendly, professional and seemed like an awesome Doctor. But because of my experience with the office staff, I'll never return to this place and I'll warn every woman who's even considering coming here to go somewhere else. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. McDonald for about 10 years. She is fantastic! And I have gone to several Ob/Gyn doctors. The wait time is always very short and the staff is very efficient. Dr. McDonald is always so cheerful and she makes you feel at ease. I'm not really sure why this doctor is highly recommended. The staff is terrible. The dr barely spends anytime with you and she is in a hurry and rushing to talk and doesn't seem to care or be compassionate about anything and only wants to get out of the room. The wait it worst! The staff is terrible (yea, i know i said that already). And don't try calling, they'll put you on hold FOREVER and all you get is voice mail! Then there are nice enough to call you back in 2 days!!! I am NOT going back and will NOT reccomend anyone! read more

My doctor retired, so I needed another one. I am so glad that I found Dr. McDonald. She is awesome! Dr. McDonald is warm. caring and personable. She listened to me and understood my needs and concerns. I feel lucky to have found her and that she was still accepting new patients. Its a busy and organized office; but your needs are taken care of. I would recommend Dr. McDonald to any one that is needing an OB or just a GYN doctor. read more

She's wonderfully personal, but there are so many issues with this clinic: (1) Ridiculous wait time for EVERY appointment. For my entire pregnancy, not one appointment went on schedule; (2) Other docs are not preferable---Dr. Patel specifically asked me about testing for diseases, etc... And when I declined he asked, "Are you nice to people? Have you said your prayers? Then you should be fine." Extremely unprofessional. (3) They outsource the 20 week ultrasound and failed to notify me that it was not covered by my insurance... So i received a $600+ bill just after baby was born. (4) 2 weeks before my due date, she tried to convince me to induce so that I would have her for delivery---as support she told me I would have an 8.5lb pound baby if I waited until full term.... My baby was born naturally the day before she was due and only weighed 6lb, 8oz. Super fast labor that the on call OB missed. Not worth me taking a chance on again, I'll find another clinic! read more
