The organ has 1900 pipes and is the oldest and largest of its kind in the United States. Every Summer this 450 seat auditorium holds concerts, performances, art shows, and various social activities from June through August. It is a must see! It is almost hidden in the middle of the village of Round Lake. It took me fifty plus years before I realized it existed, even as I drove through or around the village. My primary visits over the last eight years have been to attend the organ concerts. Many renowned organists, and students studying classical organ, come here for the experience and pleasure of playing this magnificent piece of equipment. The recital I attended today was performed by Craig Stewart Williams, organist and choirmaster for the Cadet Chapel at the U. S. Military Academy in West Point, NY. Check out the Round Lake Auditorium web page for the schedule each year. Also, I strongly suggest you bring seat cushions for any performance you attend. The old wooden seats are VERY hard.
