This review is long over due. We have done numerous weddings together. I started working with Dear Lovers in 2017. The first wedding we actually did together got featured in Exquisite magazine and we got a second feature together on Ceremony magazine. They definitely produce magazine and blog worthy photos. From our first wedding together they became photographers I always recommended. My clients are always happy with their work as am I. Anna & Andrew are like the power couple in wedding photography world. They are a great team. T They're fine art film photographers and their photos are so sophisticated and refined. The bright and airy photos they capture are timeless. They use digital and film cameras. I love that they do because you get the best of both worlds. I think what I love about them most is their attention to detail. They know how to tell clients how to move in front of the camera and how to style the photos. After working with Dear Lovers on a few weddings I knew I had to have them for my own personal event. I hired them for my bridal shower. Dani who is another photographer for Dear lovers is so sweet, kind and professional. I feel like when we are at the events taking photos it takes so much time away from being present. Anna and Andrew are absolutely the best! I would recommend them to anyone looking for beautiful, classic, and timeless film photography!! We had the most amazing experience with them over the past year. They photographed our engagement shoot in California and our wedding in Vermont. Anna and Andrew were so great to work with. They were professional and knowledgeable from beginning to end and, most importantly, the photos they captured were airy, stunning, and perfect for our garden wedding. We met them at a Bridal Expo alongside dozens of other vendors. They were a clear standout from the rest with a wholesome authentic vibe and incredible sample photos. We met a few weeks later at a local coffee shop. They were punctual and prepared and helped walk us through their values and their process. Plenty of great samples to show too. We signed a contract with them right there. Our package included an engagement shoot, which was a big plus. Scheduling it with them was easy and they were super helpful in picking a location. They regularly scout out potential shooting locations in the San Diego area and had a few great suggestions to offer when we told them what we were looking for. We met them at the spot they recommended in Balboa Park and the shoot went great. We appreciated that they came with ideas and samples of poses to try. They made what could have been an awkward experience very comfortable and fun. The pictures that came from it were gorgeous and the whole experience was a good opportunity to get to know each other and get comfortable working together. We definitely recommend doing the engagement shoot if possible. The actual wedding day went so smoothly. Anna and Andrew were on time and ready to go. They met each of us at our respective "getting ready" suites. First the bride, to capture those precious dress shots, hair and makeup, bridesmaids, mothers, and the rest. Then the groom, to get the shoes, ties and shots of whiskey. At the ceremony site itself, Anna and Andrew worked together beautiful to cover the area and the events. They had a prepared schedule for getting the family and wedding party photos and we were able to get all of those done before the ceremony, which saved us from having to grab people during cocktail hour. At the ceremony, they got so many shots that captured the key moments. The rest of the evening was pretty similar, Anna and Andrew working together as a team to captures special moments from near and far away, all the while staying unobtrusive. One nice touch was when they pulled my bride and me aside and asked if there were any special people or groups of friends that we wanted to get a shot with. We did it with one or two groups of friends but we wished we had taken them up on this more! Definitely don't miss this opportunity when they make this offer. When the wedding fell behind schedule, Anna and Andrew did not complain when the last event (cake cutting) was a good 15-20 minutes after they were supposed to go home. There were so easy going the whole time we worked with them. The most important aspect of a wedding photographer is the final product. The photos we got in the end were incredible. Both Anna and Andrew have such a great eye for love and its special moments. The composition and texture of each shot was great and we wound up with hundreds of photos that we love. We got the analog package which included shooting on real film. The film photos were some of our most favorite and we recommend splurging on this. The delivery of the final photos was beautiful and easy to use from the wooden box full of prints, to the thumb drive with all the digitals, to the online gallery. It made working with our photos easy. We couldn't be more happy. On a final personal note, Anna and Andrew are themselves recently married. The love they have for each other comes across in their working relationship, their business, and their photos. Overall, we couldn't recommend Deer Lovers more to help capture your most special day. read more

OHHH MY GOSH! I freakin' love Deer Lovers photography. I don't know if I would get a long well with a deer in the wild but after experiencing Andrew and Anna's supreme talent and skill behind a camera I think that almost any deer and I would get along great now. After we received our photos from Deer Lovers photography my wife and I cried tears of joy. Mine we're like the time I cried in the movie "Rudy" and her's we're like the tears she experiences when she watches "This Is Us," it burns so good. We were captivated by the way Andrew and Anna have such an eye to capture stunning photos, their colors are gorgeous and even with us awkward "normal" people they made us feel warm, studly and beautiful. After we had got engaged, we took some time to start wedding planning. I had seen dear lovers work about a year ago via a friend of mine's wedding. I was inspired by their photos and knew it would be those pictures that would create the memories that would recreate our special day for years to come. We worked with Anna and Andrew for our engagement photography. I found them by googling the location we wanted, Idyllwild, because they had done engagement shoots there before. They were such a joy to work with! My husband hates photos and they made it so comfortable and fun. They did a great job choosing location and perfectly capturing the setting we wanted. My husband and I recently received the most beautiful wedding album one can imagine, filled with the stunning photos of our special day shot by Deer Lovers Photography. I met Anna and Andrew at the Bridal Bazaar and was immediately struck by the high level of artistry and subtle, but poignant, emotion captured in their work. From the lighting to the composition, every photo was gorgeous, far and above any other photographers I had encountered. I also loved that they shoot in film, something that is not easy to find, but makes such a difference in the aesthetic of the photos, giving them much more depth and timelessness. My husband and I both agreed that Deer Lovers needed to be the ones to capture our wedding. They did a wonderful job with our engagement shoot, producing a gallery of photos for us that we absolutely adore and cherish; every person who saw them, including our wedding planner and other vendors, said they had rarely seen such a beautiful set. In the lead up to our wedding, with all the details and various minutiae that needed attention, not to mention the stress, we felt confident that Anna and Andrew would expertly craft their approach to the day and capture everything we would want. Given that we loved everything we had seen from them, we felt relieved to think that we did not need to micromanage or overly attend to what they would be doing. In retrospect, however, I wish I had been a bit more proactive in specifying certain things I would have wanted to be included, because although every photo we have is indeed exquisite, there were some elements of the day that were not captured as comprehensively as we would have liked. Their particular artistic sensibility leads them to focus quite a bit on details, such as flowers and all aspects of decor, and less so on the guests at the event, which is something I would have wanted to have more of, but did not think to ask for. When approached after the fact, Anna and Andrew were very receptive to our feedback and worked diligently with us to be sure we had the kind of keepsake that we will treasure forever, and in that endeavor, they were very successful. If you are lucky enough to have them capture your day, just be sure to be very specific about the things that are most important to you, even if you think they might be obvious. They will absolutely take your wishes into consideration, but you just need to let them know. As I said at the beginning, our album is simply gorgeous and we are truly grateful to be able to remember the beautiful moments of our wedding in such a splendid way. read more

We decided to use Anna and Andrew from Dear Lovers Photography after I met them at the bridal bazaar with my mom. Their work was our favorite even after seeing so many that day! Anna and Andrew took so much time helping us plan our wardrobe for our engagement shoot and met with us to get coffee to talk about the feel that we wanted for our wedding day. They were even an integral part in getting our wedding day timeline together! My husband did not want to do a "first look" (he wanted to see me for the first time walking down the eisle).
