This business lacks the organization to meet its own deadlines, the professionalism to deliver on…read morepromised results, and the accountability to take responsibility when things go wrong. I strongly caution against using their services unless you are willing to deal with unreliable timelines, poor communication, subpar workmanship, and difficulty getting issues resolved reasonably. I brought a brand-new bridesmaid dress here for hemming, strap securing, closing a slit, and adding sewn-in inserts. During the detailed 2-hour initial consultation, various options (including different inserts) were presented as part of what seemed to be the standard process for achieving the desired fit. At no point were these options presented as special accommodations or personal favours. I accommodated the length of this visit as walk-in customers were repeatedly attended to throughout. During the consultation, I also observed the seamstress snagging the fabric while handling the dress; when pointed out, it was acknowledged and I proceeded in good faith. Despite explicitly offering additional time, the business insisted the dress would be ready in one week. That commitment was not met. When I arrived on the agreed date, I was told no work had been started due to it being a "busy time." I was asked to follow up before returning. After being told the dress was ready, I made another trip, only to be informed it actually still was not finished. I was then told it would be done later that day; in reality, it took several more days. When I returned to collect the dress, it had multiple issues: visible fabric snags (including additional snagging during that final visit); straps that were not secured as discussed; and incorrectly placed inserts resulting in a poor, unflattering fit. When I raised concerns about the inserts, I was told they might be sewn incorrectly based on how they were initially pinned. Instead of helping to correct the issue, the seamstress left me for nearly an hour to figure it out myself while she worked on other items in the back, repeatedly telling me to "relax" and "enjoy myself." After an hour without resolution, I requested a partial refund for the insert-related work ($40 total), as it had not been completed as agreed. This was initially refused on the basis that I had just "changed my mind," which was untrue. Fabric damage concerns were also dismissed with suggestions that the dress quality was to blame, despite snagging visibly occurring during her handling. I was then asked to leave while the refund was "considered," which I declined to do without resolution. The situation escalated in front of other customers as the seamstress becoming highly emotional and disengaged. The matter was only resolved after her partner intervened to issue the refund. Following this, I received a voicemail apology focused primarily on delays. The core issues - poor workmanship, damage to the dress, and how the situation was handled - were not addressed. Instead, there was repeated emphasis on how "nice" she was based on the time and effort she put in during the initial consultation and how little was charged. To be clear, the scope of the work, pricing, and billing descriptions were entirely set and recorded by the seamstress. For example, the invoice noted "fix straps," reflecting our verbal agreement to both reattach and secure them; it is not reasonable to expect a customer to interpret internal shorthand or restate instructions when the provider has already agreed to the work. Similarly, the insert installation (including selection of materials) was a service she suggested, not something requested as a personal favour. In my opinion, bringing up the time and effort spent after the fact to justify poor results is inappropriate and unprofessional. The time and effort spent, or how "nice" the service may have seemed during consultation, do not change the outcome: I was left with an incomplete, damaged product. All in all, based on this experience, I will not be returning and would not recommend this business to others.

Unfortunately then they were too tight so she fixed them up again to the perfect size for free. Another was fixing the zipper on a pair of dress pants. **This review is for Wendy's Alterations, which is based in this dry cleaning establishment. This…read morereview is NOT for the dry cleaning service, which I haven't yet used. It is for the alterations/tailor service ONLY** Wow. If I could bestow more than 5 stars, I would. I don't often have a need for tailoring services, but recently both my kid and I had a pair each of new pants/jeans that needed alterations done: me, I just needed a big tuck made in the waist of a pair of skinny jeans; my kid, she needed a tuck in the waist of her new pants as well as the length of the legs shortened/hemmed. I live in Yaletown and didn't want to travel far. Also, my new pants were super inexpensive (thanks, Winners!), so I didn't want to spend a ton of money on alterations - certainly not more than I spent on the pants themselves. I posted on Facebook, in the Yaletown group I belong to, asking for recommendations. And boy, the recommendations came in! I called and messaged a handful of local tailors (names shall go unmentioned). Some highly recommended tailors never responded to my requests for a quote. Some responded with a HUGE range (one said the tuck in my pants would cost anywhere from $35-$100. Like, WTH). I went to an established dry cleaner on 4th that had an experienced tailor on site and they quoted me $40 for the tuck in my pants waist. Then I called Wendy, at Mia's Dry Cleaning. She quoted me between $20-$25 for the tucks in the waist, and $15 for the hemming. These prices were the absolute best of all the places I contacted. By far. When we visited the small shop, my daughter and I met Wendy and she has to be the nicest, loveliest person EVER. So so incredibly sweet and demure. And wow, so talented. She showed us some of the bathing suits she makes for a Montreal-based company. Amazing. Anyhow, my kid and I tried on our respective pants and she made her chalk markings on them and she quoted us a turnaround time of two days. TWO DAYS. So not only was the price right, but man, she works fast, too. We picked up our pants today and they are perfect. Absolutely perfect. Need a great tailor? This is THE PLACE, and Wendy is THE BEST.

I have been going to Money's for a while but after they wanted to charge me 16$ to dry clean my sweater because they consider it a jacket (just because it has a zipper, I paid 6.90$ at MIa's!) and refused to even touch my coat ('we don't clean such expensive things' - wtf!!??) I was looking for a new cleaner that earns my business. The guy at Mia's is really helpful, knows his stuff and provides great service. So far I only had dry-clean to drop off so I can't comment on the alteration part. I paid 39$ for a bunch of stuff that would have cost me about 60$ at all the other places i tried here in YT. Definitely coming back here! Cheers -S

When I went there to drop off and pick up my clothes, the woman who worked there did not greet me…read more I gave her two receipts for two groups of order. She only gave me one order back and I thought she might combine the two orders so I asked her if she had given me everything. She then looked at the two receipts that I gave her and she said yes so I left. Then I remembered that I had previously dropped off a blue blazer but she did not return it to me. So I went back and asker her for it. My clothing was still on the counter (the ones that I dropped off) and she was chatting on the phone. She should have put away the customers' clothing immediately after she received them and not leave them on the counter. I asked for my blue blazer and then she went to the rotating rack and she swung the rack so quickly that it was impossible to discern which clothing was mine. I needed to stop her a few times and see if my blazer was there. We finally located it and I asked her if this blue blazer was one of the two receipts that I originally gave her at the beginning. She said yes, without apology. This means she had neglected to give me this order when I first came in which wasted my time. I checked my receipt and she put down 'dress' on the receipt for my skirt. So I told her and she asked to touch the material of my skirt and then she said that they charged the same price for the skirts and dresses. I did not believe her because the information on the receipt was not clear (e.g. typos for the clothing types and the colors). Overall, she did not apologize for all her errors and she did not care about the customers' clothing. She could have simply matched the clothes with the receipts but she was unable to even do that. I would not let this place to handle any luxurious clothing.

Then she took her time getting my item even though I was the only one in the store. I wanted to dry clean a down jacket and was quoted $40 plus taxes/eco cleaning fees. When I picked up the jacket, the woman told me that I said it was not a down jacket (which I specifically did) and would not give honour the original quote. This feels like a bait-and-switch after they charged me $55. Do not go here if you want some dry cleaning down for the quoted price and on time.
