I went in with a wool top coat that had something dropped on it, something from a bird's colon. I brought it in on a Saturday and they promised it the next Wednesday. I wasn't able to pick it up so promptly but I liked the speed at which they worked. It cost around $57 but it was well worth it. I suspect that's how much it is for dry cleaning anyway. And my garment was perfectly cleaned. I wouldn't hesitate to use Fletchers again, even though I don't live close to it. read more

I am so disgusted with this busines. I got 2 tank top straps shortened by the seemstress. I was completely shocked when the bill came to 66.00. My regular girl who was on holidays, would have charged 10.00 each. I don't care how well done the work was it was a very simple alteration. I was a 30 year plus customer at Fletcher's. Until it was sold to the carnival people from the North Shore. As soon as the new owners took over they destroyed every shirt I took in for laundering. I gave them a few weeks to see if this was one time. It wasn't. There are much better dry cleaners in Vancouver. You'll find them on Yelp. Do not come here for any alterations or repairs. I wanted to support a local business, they also did a nice clean and repair job on a jacket that I had brought in. I brought in a designer outfit that needed a hem. It is a long jumpsuit that is lined. The hem work on the inner lining was moderate at best, I am thankful that no one can see it. The outer layer only required to be cut based on the type of fabric. It looks like it was cut with dull scissors, it's uneven and jagged in spots. I paid over 60.00 for this work, waiting to hear back for a full refund as I now need to look for someone to fix it which will cost me more money... read more

Brought a brand new rain coat (wore once) in to clean stain off of lapel and when picked it up it was $185!!!!! Like, for one coat! No warning when I dropped it off except to say they couldn't guarantee they'd remove the stain. Their response was because the label was from a high end company it cost more to clean. Such a BS excuse as a coat is a coat. So the cleaning is 50% of the cost of the coat? I refused to pay and waiting for manager to call me back. I'm not expecting much given the reviews I've read. My long time dry cleaner closed their doors at the end of 2023. I was looking for a new dry cleaner as I typically use this service regularly. I was referred to Fletchers by someone who said that they have had mixed reviews. I decided to give them a try. My initial cleaning was approximately a $1000. I was emailed the list of items (which was huge) and admit to not reviewing each item in the list because I have never experienced an issue with missing items in the past. When I went to pick up the cleaning in two pickups, I realized that I was missing a pair of jeans that I had only worn once and were valued at $388 plus the cost that I invested in hemming them. I reached out to Fletchers because I was certain they were in the drop off. They did not offer me any help and said that they have a video if the drop off. I had asked them to look into the possibility that they may have been added to another order or simply misplaced. After asking twice, I received a not great video days later that I feel shows the jeans in question. They now are just ignoring me. I know that I dropped the item off with them and feel disappointed that they are gone (also unavailable to repurchase now). There is no explanation from their end whatsoever and zero attempt to try to locate them. in the decades that I've been using dry cleaners, I have never had anything lost nor have I had such horrible c service. I took my wedding dress to be dry cleaned. It was not very dirty, just had a little dirt on it from photos in the park, but otherwise it was in good shape. It is white lace with an ivory under layer. I dropped it off and waited for a quote and was absolutely SHOCKED when they said it would cost $850. That is more than the dress is worth!!! I thought it was missing a decimal, $85.00, but nope $850. Of course I declined being robbed and took my dress to a new dry cleaner and was quoted a final price of $125, which also includes a nice preservation box. Fletcher's used to be my go-to for my non-washables, but no more. My mohair blend coat ($1k) came back stiff, and wizened, like a Yoda coat. Plus they pressed the lining differently with longitudinal creases throughout. Sorry - No more. Extremely pricey. Crappy attitude on the part of the staff. I know my textiles, folks. I usually come here if I have something I love that I'm afraid of ruining. They're very pricey but they have saved pieces of clothing before that I was afraid was beyond repair. I took a beige cashmere sweater here once that I accidentally spilled shoe polish on. They fixed it which was amazing, but I definitely paid for it (close to $30 bucks). I guess there's a price to being clumsy, hah! I wouldn't use them for everyday dry cleaning unless I want to be taken to the cleaners (yes, I know I'm the queen of puns), but every once in a while for pieces that I'm scared of losing I'll definitely fork up the extra cash. read more

Clerks seemed to just check stuff in without knowing anything about it, and Fletcher's damaged both items I brought them, because the cleaners either couldn't properly identify the materials, or else washed them improperly. This is my go-to dry cleaner for clothes that I don't want to risk ruining. They are enormously detail oriented and will repair any minor damage they find on your clothes. For the environmentally conscious, they use hydrocarbons to dry clean clothes instead of the carcinogenic perc (aka perchloroethylene or tetrachloroethylene). My clothes always come back looking like new and without any chemical smell. Yes, they are pricey, but really, isn't your favourite [insert article of clothing here] worth it? read more

You can also get just plain old laundering if you are lazy like me and don't want to do it yourself. I've used Fletchers off and on over the past 10 years. It's always been convenient but pricey so some times I've sent my dry-cleaning elsewhere. This past Fall I went to wear a silk shirt I hadn't worn in several months to discover a stain on the front and what looked like a spilled drink on the back (leftovers from a 40th B-Day celebration no doubt). They spent weeks working to get the stains out - mostly the back which created quite a problem. During the stain removal process (successfully!) they discolored the robin blue silk a bit at the bottom. They creatively took some inside material from the shirt to cover the discolored silk in a similar pattern repeated on the front of the shirt. Hands down best customer service I've ever experienced in Vancouver. It was not a cheap fix but incredibly affordable given the effort they expended to resolve the problem. How can you not LOVE drive-in dry-cleaning? I mean seriously... I lived right beside this Arbutus institution and even if I didn't have dry-cleaning that day, I went and put something into dry-cleaning just so I could go here. Fletchers in the past has been absolutely excellent, even for the prices. If you had a wardrobe garment this is where it needed to go. No shrinkage, chemicals used were hypoallergenic and didn't smell, and fairly quick service. They even used to check all buttons and resew if needed. Lately they've been real mediocre and charging the same high prices. Their service quality has gone down, and all the things you expect with average dry cleaners using harsh cleaning fluid is what Fletchers has turned into. This place is a great dry cleaner! I've been to the cheap ones in the past and they haven't been so great and I have walked out of those frustrated. But I took my dress to Fletchers after a night out on the town, and they cleaned it and looked like it was new. They even repaired it by resewing some of the threads that had come off and made things fall apart. However, this dry cleaning job did cost me $30. But I think I will come back because I couldn't get over how nice my dress turned out. Oh, they also gave out free Rogers' chocolate for Christmas to all clients! read more

I took 5 items in to be drycleaned...a two piece suit, a tie, a pair of slacks and a rain jacket. I asked them to get a grease mark out of the tie...which they did, taking the colour out of the silk material as well, ruining the tie. The jacket was still as dirty as when I brought it in, but now it was additionally covered with lint! The two piece suit was seperated and charged to me as two items...totalling a charge of $48. Cost to dryclean the slacks was between 22 and 23$. The total for the five items was approx. $125. When I mentioned that the tie was ruined, I got a blank stare after I showed the clerk the damage, and when I said that the jacket was still dirty (the marks on it were there when I brought it in...and were what I had wanted cleaned), I was told that it was 'worn' in those places (not places that an item would typically 'wear'). I left the tie and the jacket there for the clerk to speak with a superior and get back to me. I wish I had read the reviews of this place BEFORE I had taken my clothing in to them. They are definitely the WORST drycleaner that I have ever encountered, and the exorbitant charges were just the final slap in the face. I didn't realise they also do alterations and am so glad I asked because they were very patient & I spoke to the lady directly and she cane up with some great ideas to alter my skirt while maintaining the overall design. read more

I wish I could give less than 1 star. So just before spring break my local dry cleaner closed and I was looking for one to get my kids school blazers and skirt cleaned and thought of Fletchers as they are close to the school. When I went to pick up, they couldn't find my clothes. I waited for over and hour and they kept asking if I was sure I dropped them off even though I had the pick up slip. An hour later I was told they had to check the security camera footage to make sure I dropped my clothes off. I felt like I was being accused of lying, a day later I got a call that they found my clothes. I was happy just to get my kids uniform back but they for all this time wasting they should give me a discount but nothing was offer, not even sorry. Couldn't find another dry cleaner and thought I should give them a chance again, again I took my kids blazers and shirt and 3 tops from my Indian outfits. At drop off I asked the girl if they clean Indian outfits and she said yes and got me to even sign a waiver in case any embroidery get wrecked. I told her I'm flying out on aug 17, and need these done by Friday and said no problem. Went to pick up today and was given kids school stuff but couldn't find my 3 outfits. And once they finally found them, I was told they are not done because the cleaner thought they were for next Friday and also they don't clean stuff like this. I reminded that I checked before dropping off and why they didn't call me earlier to let me know. It's 3pm on Friday and I'm leaving at 6am Saturday. They have nothing to say. Just an update. Since I switched my cleaning to Fletchers I have been much happier. I now bring my suits even my blankets and bed sheets to Fletchers. They really do a great job and have fast friendly services from all the staff. Had a quick tour of the operation and I was surprised at how big it really is and how many people actually work there. I used to think Fletcher's was great, minus the fact that they're not open on Sundays. But this last time I went I made it clear I needed everything done before I left for holidays and they insisted it would be no problem. I had a minor repair that I needed done on my jacket in addition to dry cleaning and I got billed for it, but they didn't actually fix it. And when I noticed it was Sunday, they're not open, they don't have voicemail, or an e-mail address to reach someone at. I better get my money back when I get back. read more

I lived in Kits for close to 20 years and used Fletcher's the entire time. The past 5+ years or so I really put them to the test and dropped off an average of 5 shirts a week, as well as regular dry cleaning every week. These guys were always top notch, no complaints. Everything done right, on time and as promised. Two gliches that I recall, and both were resolved professionally. One, they misplaced a shower curtain that was recovered either the same day, or within a few days. Anyone can make a mistake. The other was more serious. They called to ask if one of the shirts I dropped off had anything spilled on the collar, causing a discoloration. I didn't recall seeing that, so next time in I checked it out. It was really obvious, and basically the shirt was ruined. It was a pretty new shirt and most of all, it was $300 Canali. Although they couldn't figure out what was spilled on it, and how it happened, but they pulled out the cheque book and reimbursed me for the full price, along with sincere apologies. To me, this is the mark of a truly professional business. I don't say Fletchers is inexpensive to use, but if you value your clothing, you won't make a mistake taking them here. read more

These rave reviews must be from a long time ago. It is true that the service and cleaning results used to be great. Now they tell you to your face - and only if you demand to know what happened to the nice decorations on your new outfit you gave them to dryclean - that you have given it to them to clean at your own risk, and they are not responsible. Arrogance and rudeness is the behaviour of the day. They have increased the prices beyond reason. And how good the repairs are depends on who is doing them. But then again, not many businesses really care any more, and manners and good service have become old fashioned. So now the only difference between Fletcher's and other drycleaners is that Fletchers is twice as expensive and - they still know more about fabrics. If you are willing to pay the price, as a rule, you can bet your woolens will come out the same size as you brought them in. read more

This is an overpriced dry cleaner staffed with people with attitude problems. When I tried to pick up my clothes on the due day, the clothes were not ready and I got a lecture from its staff who kept saying she was not the one who promised the pick-up date. When I tried more than once to pick up from a coat from alteration, I was given no explanation why it was again not available on time. Being new to Vancouver and needing a good drycleaner for suits and shirts I tried this place. I heard about Fletchers, that they've been around for so many years. I really cannot figure out why people go here. When you pay more money , upwards of $200 for a few suits, you expect your clothes to be taken care of better. The suits came back with black grease lines which they said was a problem with some part of their machine. Everything got redone, fine, so I gave them another chance. The second time after that the whole batch came back smelling worse than before. The day after I had the most uncomfortable business meeting ever in this odorous suit. Got the suit drycleaned by the hotel I was staying at and it was clean and the shirt was pressed far better than they ever were with Fletchers. read more

Complete disaster. Went to this place upon recommendation of a friend despite the terrible reviews I've read here. Biggest regret ever. I took my white jacket to this place after a summer of wearing. It was a white jacket after summer, so you know what I'm talking about- sweat stains on the collar and some yellow marks along the lower part of the collar. Other than that, it was in fine/ a bit stain condition. I showed the girl at the counter about the marks when she took it in, and we examined the jacket together. Received a call on the day I was supposed to pick it up, saying that there was 'watermarks' at the back of my jacket. Surprised to hear that, I asked what that meant. I was told that they need to wash it instead of dry-clean that part to get the watermarks out, to which I agreed with. Picked up on a Friday, $25 for a jacket seemed fine. Didn't pay much attention and went straight home. Only to find out that there were 3 big tears/holes in the lining. When I looked at the receipt wanting to take it back, it now says 'frayed lining when received'. Completely untrue! I took it back, and spoke to their manager Menna. Just like one of the previous reviews said, they act on a very deceptive manner, blaming the problem on the jacket itself. Manager even said' garments don't wear forever'. I agree that we're all human beings and make mistakes at time to time. But no apology at all for ruining the jacket and blaming the customer? Uncalled for. Was offered a remedy for the situation.
