I made an appointment with Dublin Chimney Sweep online for a pre winter sweep. It was really easy and straightforward. The chap was very nice and had lots of good chimney related advice. I felt sorry for him because the amount of stuff that came out of it. I thought maybe we had a nest but it seems there was a chimney fire at some point and he removed two bags of crap! He left the living room exactly as he found it which was impressive considering. Great service and I'll definitely use them again.

I received an email to confirm my appointment and listed the name of the service man (Declan). The following day I was contacted by Declan who asked if he can call out a bit earlier, I had no problem. Declan arrived with all the equipment, Vacuum cleaner, poles, drill (cheating!!) , plastic sheet etc. Did the job & cleaned up afterwards. Having purchased a new abode, several items seemed to be out of order in the electrical department…read more It was decided we needed to call in a professional, as despite standing around talking about the offending item for hours, they still wouldn't work. Upon arriving into work, I opened up Yelp and the very first thing I say was a review for Hade Electrical. I took it as a sign and immediately looked up the website (despite it being a post by the owner). The website is nicely done (aka it doesn't look like someone's 4 year old has developed it for IE5) and I decided to call the chap called Dermot. On the phone he was lovely to speak with and we arranged for him to come out. At the agreed time, he was waiting for me at the new abode. For the next while, I pointed out what I wanted him to look at, and followed him around while he worked on things. He probably thinks I'm a freak for following him around, but I had nothing else to do and I was interested in what was going on. He was so kind when he pointed out that my non-functioning doorbell chime was actually the alarm bell box, and even held in the laughter when pointing out that the alarm sensor up in the corner was my doorbell chime. Bless his heart! He fixed up some bits and bobs and left me with info for a new heater, if we wanted to replace the hideous storage heater which wasn't working. He came back in later that week to remove our storage heaters, fit a sleek new electric rad and replace the elements in the water heater. He was extremely friendly, pleasant to chat with and I actually had a good laugh joking with him. He cleaned up after himself and took everything away. He even fitted a new ceiling spot for free as a house-warming present! I was more than happy with the fee's he charged, I thought they were very reasonable. We will definitely be using him again.
