I think that the city probably stocks the pond - it was very cute to see kids successfully fishing before the wedding. Because of the amazingly beautiful weather, we were able to have the actual ceremony outside on the shores of the lake - however, even if it had been rainy it would have been lovely to have the wedding indoors in the delightful space. It wouldn't surprise me at all to hear that Aspen Hall was built specifically for weddings. It is a hall that would seat about 150 people fairly comfortably. It has an industrial kitchen and is surrounded on one side by a spacious porch with plenty of tables for sitting, mingling, and hangin'. There was plenty of parking for a smallish wedding but for a larger wedding you might want to consider alternatives. I highly recommend this space to anyone looking for event/wedding space in Bend.

More than a year had passed since I was inside Gairdin. The reason It had been so long absent was because in times past the interior space was so tightly packed that it was difficult to get around and a tad claustrophobic to boot. Bend has a lot of home accessory / gift store options and I found myself headed to others for more aisle space and breathing room. (Space planning in merchandising matters for a welcome vibe that encourages customers to come and to buy.) So today, whether by design or serendipity, it was nice to find aisleways inside were more open making shopping enjoyable. Also to allow "go slow" wandering since there is a lot here to like. Today I was on a mission for high quality, spring into summer faux blooming plant options that looked real. Real lookng faux plant materials are the reason I normally think of Gairdin as they are one of the two best options in Bend for those things in higher quality. Found just what I was looking for among many options to consider. Plus a "just perfect" little metal pot that wasn't on on my hunting list (but there it was) and some spring accent items to tuck in an Easter display. In addition to faux plant materials (some downstairs more up a flight of stairs), there are interesting pots in a variety of sizes, trays, seasonal accents (for this time of year things like birds nests, birds, birdhouses, rabbits), candles, accent pillows, wall art, throws, jewelry, cards, a few small occasional tables, table lamps....the list goes on and on. All new merchandise. THIS N THAT: LOCATION TIP: Can be a little difficult to find the first time. Look for it in Bend's Old Mill District in the building directly behind Strictly Organic Coffee off of Colorado. And here's a big advantage for this location; there is ample parking in the associated lot so you need not struggle with parking as you have to do downtown. ACCESSIBILITY: A couple of accessible parking spots in the lot. Store is level in. Only barrier could be tighter aisleways at times when merchandising of store makes them so. Note some plant and container materials are up a flight of stairs. RETURN POLICY: Be sure to ask before you buy if the item is returnable. On nearly all or maybe all items the return window is only 24 hours wide..

Plus a cafe (not open on Mon/Tues. really a cute area of older bldgs that a group of younger people have spruced up. Love it
