They have a good selection of products pre checked so if your vegan u don't have to check the label. The reason why I gave 1 Star is because the lady at the counter said she's pro vegan and she's an extremist vegan (her words) so she blurted all this crap out and questioned why I ate meat and wore leather. I was gonna buy some items but felt like I have having someone else's beliefs shoved down my throat and I walked out. Never will I go back in here again!

The new owners have taken everything we love about One Earth and given it a new lease of life, with lots of new products I have never seen on sale in Birmingham before For example the amount of cheese they stock is ridiculous and certainly 100% Vegan's strong point. I picked up some Vio Life olive slices last Saturday which I am excited about trying on my lunch shortly! As someone who is newly diagnosed with a wheat intolerance, I found so many items in store that I had I was allowed to have and found impossible to buy anywhere else. Examples include, wheat free biscuits, miso, cereals, flour and Hendersons relish!!!! I have looked everywhere for that in Birmingham and at last found it! 100% Vegan stock a massive range of pastries and cakes made locally which you cannot resist picking up when you visit, I have been to many Vegan stores across the country and what I haven't seen is genuine special offers. Not things going out of date "offers" but proper ones. I spotted quite a few in 100% Vegan last Saturday. I am a massive bargain hunter so was so pleased! With The Warehouse Café next door going from strength to strength, I am sure that 100% Vegan will be very successful over the next year. Go pay them a visit!

I got their later than everyone else, so I missed out on the food, but everyone else was full and impressed. Both visits were on a Sunday during lunch and the food preparation was perfect. The Big Lounge salad boasts a delightful variety of flavors and textures. I really like the tarragon mustard seed vinaigrette as it brings a level of brightness to the vegetables and blends well with the creamy ripe avocado chunks. This past Sunday, I ordered the Sherbet Lemonade. At 2 quid something a glass, this beverage is spectacular and definitely worth the price tag. Think of it as dessert or nice virgin cocktail. The playful presentation and summery sweetness make it hard not to gulp the whole glass before the meal arrives. I really dig the decor in this place. It feels somewhat like a vintage 70s art lounge, with groovy wallpaper and large framed paintings covering the full length of the main wall. There is ample seating and comfortable chairs. Seating arrangements are nicely spaced to create privacy and patrons are welcomed to stay for an afternoon with board games and a mini-library. The lighting features are custom crafted from salvaged naval lanterns and the wall of windows facing the road provide a not-too-bright sunlit glow. This is a new go-to place for us!

After already having two successful restaurants in Manchester, I was very excited about visiting Bistro 1847 after hearing only good things about it. Set in the beautiful Great Western Arcade, I thought it was strange to open a restaurant here. Especially after 6pm it is the only place open usually! But the atmosphere of the restaurant complements the peacefulness of the arcade. The interior of the Bistro is minimalistic and modern. Being someone who is allergic to Dairy and Wheat intolerant (I know!), Bistro 1847 is one of few places I don't feel weird at. The whole menu is Vegetarian, with dishes that can be adjusted to vegan or gluten free or both in my view. My and my friend were feeling fat so we both went for three courses. I had the curried Swede Cauliflower, Cashew nut butter and cinnamon cornflakes. So many flavours going on in a small parcel was a great choice. For the main I had "Oh I do like to be beside the seaside" (all dishes have these quirky little names!) which is a modern Veggie twist on fish and chips in case you hadn't guessed! I had the vegan version which had two huge pieces of smoked tofu which I really struggled to finish along with the chunky chips! I wasn't defeated and enjoyed all parts of the meal. For desert I had the "Good ol fashioned lover boy" I enjoyed it although I thought maybe the chocolate was a bit over powering as was so much going on. But the jelly was a nice compliment to the richness. The menu contains a large selection of cocktails and deserts for sharing if you and your friends are in search of lots of sweetness. This was my third visit on a Sunday since opening and has been progressively busier each time which is great to see. Bistro 1847 is a very relaxing experience and ideal place for a date or a catch up with a friend. And of course the food is amazing!

Oo-ee this is indeed a very classy vegetarian restaurant…read more The decor is modern, simple and stylish - shades of white and grey, nice white table linen, with a few tables downstairs, and more upstairs on the mezzanine level. There's a large window looking on to the arcade, which is great for watching people come and go. The food was fantastic. It's a fixed price menu, at £19 for two courses, and £25 for three. There's also a pricier tasting menu - the couple sitting next to me had chosen that option, and were really enjoying it. To start, I had the puy lentils, with roasted carrot, spring onions and garlic tofu. The tofu was done as a silky sauce - I'd never had tofu prepared in that way, and I thought it was really delicious. For main course, I chose the bell pepper ragu, with polenta. Again this was superb, with the polenta served as crisp little triangles on top. Both my courses were gluten free, as well as vegan, and their menu is very clear to understand. It feels like the sort of place you can completely trust to get things right. Service was quick and friendly, and there was a nice atmosphere, with other diners just quietly enjoying their meals just as much as I was. I'll definitely be back here next time in Birmingham, and I'll look out for their restaurants in other cities too.

Situated a little out of the way, but really easy to find when you know where it is (Head to Moor Street Car park opposite Selfridges, under the bridge and then follow the arches; literally 4 minutes walk from the Bullring), the Warehouse is a real treasure. Now run by two of the chefs from it's previous incarnation, the menu is always changing to offer the best seasonal local produce. As well as a range of food options, the juice and smoothies are also excellent. New flavor combinations are offered all of the time to help you get your 5-a-day in! The inside feels lofty and airy with hardwood furniture and floors. It's a lovely warm space that offers WiFi - and they now do "Bottomless" tea and coffee at selected times on weekdays if you're looking for somewhere new to work. Now... one of my favourite bits... It's BYOB! They have a very good selection of grown up soft drinks (Fentimans and the like), but if you want to take a nice bottle of wine or some beers in; it's up to you. It also keeps the cost of a meal down! The food isn't pub cheap, but is very good value for the quality and not what I would term as expensive. In summary, if you want to get some healthy food in you - head to Warehouse. Grab a bottle and I can guarantee you a comfy, delicious and reasonably priced dining experience!

I went there after a friend strongly recommended it, and I'm glad that I did. It is a small food store on Stoney Lane, not far from the Ladypool Road, it is actually a sweet centre but the savoury food is what I was there for. There is a vast choice of snacks (as well as full meals and sweets) and I couldn't decide what to have, so I asked the guy behind the counter to make me a mix bag of vegetarian selections, such as kachori, batetawada, onion bhaji, palaks, vadas daal, potato fritter, among others. I asked for £5 worth and had to stop him as the food was piling up! I ended up with enough food for 3 people! I can say that every single thing was delicious. My favorite was the palak - spinach, onion and aubergine bhaji. The place went beyond my expectations. I am definitely going to be a regular!
