I urge all current students and alumni to give your honest review of this school and the district. If you have attended Deer Creek you are aware of the many issues and lack of action in regards to bullying and physical assault. The administration failed again after punishing another student who was being harassed and assaulted. This is not the first time someone I know, or even in my own experience, have been a victim of bullying and/or physical assault. The administration's policy currently suggests you must stand by until help arrives when experiencing assault. Any other action is punishable via suspension, encouraging victims to submit to their assailer. This schools online image does not reflect its more nefarious reputation that all current students and alumni associate it with. Deer Creek places value on sports teams but regularly and openly violates the basic legal rights of general and special education students. If you are looking for an actual education for your child(ren), not a potential sports scholarship, send them elsewhere. There are many dedicated, caring, capable teachers that have their hands tied by administration that appears to only be concerned with sitting in their seats long enough to collect their padded paychecks. If I could have given less of a review, I would have. Kristi Schaefer in the freshman office is quite possibly the most inhumane person I have ever encountered. We went to the HS to check my son out early after my daughter having a mental health issue, and notified the school in advance to avoid her having to be out longer than needed. I was abruptly cut off by Kristi when I tried to explain the situation and was told, "we don't do that you'll have to come into pull him out." She was rude and didn't even listen to make a valid or civil response. I was simply trying to lessen the wait time because the campus is so big, not check him out over the phone. When I arrived there I again tried to explain to her the situation to which she could have cared less of the medical event that had happened or to the even be bothered in making eye contact. After I told her why I was trying to avoid the delay being a medical emergency and all, to which she made no response and continued typing. I'm appalled by the lack of empathy, care, and concern by your staff towards your community and students. Deplorable behavior. Do better Deer Creek! I graduated from this school, and I'm am applauded at how the standards and morals have taken a dive in the past years. From rude staff to sexualizing the school through sick kink pranks. read more
