My husband called in the morning and made a reservation for a site, he was told that there was one site available. husband gave all our information including his credit card information. We thought we were good to go. We drive the 302 miles to the campground and when my husband gets there, the person who was checking him in says we don't have your reservation and we have no more sites. What? The employee remembers talking with my husband, but didn't complete the reservation in their computer. WTH? Hubby is ready to blow a gasket, informs the guy that he has a wife who loves to review places on line. And the guy tells my husband to not be belligerent and he'll figure out something. Wait, you just said there are no sites available. Now, magically, there is a site? True, when my hubby didn't receive a confirmation email or text, he should have taken a minute to call the campground again. Yes, that's on him. But we have been traveling from Michigan to Arizona and now halfway home and haven't had a problem until now. My personal opinion is that the employee took one look at my hippy looking husband and decided he didn't want us camping there. It wasn't because our camper is old, there were older ones (see pictures), it was just my husband. Here's the campground review: this is an RV park, built for big rigs. Each site has a covered patio area, a picnic table and full hook ups. There is adequate space between the sites, room for the largest rigs and tow vehicles. There is one washroom, with laundry and shower (kind of weird with curtains and no area to lay a bag or clothes) facilities and a storm cellar. The roads are wide allowing for turns without running over the grass. This campground would be rated a high 4 or a 5 if not for the employee at the beginning of this story. read more

We were traveling through Topeka with our fifth wheel when our truck had vehicle issues I called and reached the manager and owner. I inform her I did not know how long the repairs on the truck would take .It was a Sunday and she normally doesn't answer the phone but she was in. She got us a site guaranteed us that as long as it took days or weeks that she would have that site open for us. We found the park to be beautiful, huge dog park huge play area nice pool even though it wasn't open at the time of year we were here. The majority of the sites were all pulled through with about five that were back in. The drive areas were all very wide concrete also were walkways no obstacles when pulling trailers down driveways like trees and rock sticking out. All the grass areas were well maintained and beautiful. This is by far the nicest park that we could find in Kansas City or Topeka. Thank you again for making our stay so stressless. Also, I forgot to mention they're all full hook ups and they will pick up your propane tanks and fill them and bring them back to you. You gotta love the Midwest hospitality. Our rig includes a 48 foot 5th wheel, pulled with a semi tractor that is converted to a motorhome. We are about 76 feet long when pulling. The roads into/out of the campground, along with wide roads inside the campground, made maneuvering very easy. We fit well into our spot and did not need to unhook for the night. Utilities are centrally located so everything reached without problem. The covered patio and picnic table are great. The site was wide enough that these did not interfere with our slide outs. The bathhouse is clean and very nice. I did 5 loads of laundry; all machines were clean, operable and very affordable. Dryer lint traps were all empty. This is an extremely well maintained RV Park and one of the nicest we have ever stayed at in 10 years of full timing. It is definitely on our must-stay list in the future. Well done! read more

This Is How You Do An RV Park: Even though we were only at this park for one night, this is a favorite now along our travels. Easy paved pull thru lots and really easy to get to 30/50 amp electric, water and waste dump. Each space has grassy area, a paved patio and picnic table, along with clean restrooms/showers, easy to walk to pool, playground, and a really big dog park. Extremely clean and fully paved. Now that we know you're there...we'll make this a stopping point during our annual travels across I-70. read more

We stayed at Deer Creek Valley for one night when coming home from Colorado. We were told if arriving after 5:00 they would text us a code for the gate, of which they did earlier in the day! The campground had a packet of information ready for us in the office vestibule; they seem very well organized! The pool was a great place to burn energy after driving all day, and the bathrooms were clean. We would definitely stay here again! read more

Each site contained well maintained grass, picnic table, cement pad, full hookups for a pull though access. Adequate space between sites. Bathrooms and showers were clean. We mixed up our reservations and went to Deer Creek instead of our actual campground. They had a spot available and it was so clean and well spaced, we decided to stay- happy accident! It is by far the best laid out campground we've ever stayed in. there was probably 30 feet of grass between sites. The concrete pads are excessively large so you have plenty of space and options for your rig and still have a wonderful patio area. Everything was nicely maintained and fenced with trees/brush around so it felt private. They had a huge and clean dog area as well as a nice pool. We were only there overnight so we didn't get to enjoy a lot of it, but I had to write a review because we just appreciated the layout so much. read more

Overall we really liked this park. Pros: Its clean Nice looking pool (we did not use it) Lots to do in the area Cement pads and driveways Secure area Cons: wifi unreliable The park rules are not followed People in the office were not friendly Regarding the cons. The people in the office were not unfriendly but I never saw a smile. They did their job and that was it. We were given a list of park rules. A lot of them were not followed by quite a few residents but you could tell it had been going on a long time and nothing was done. For example, they say no under RV storage. Well yes there is! Lots of people and tons of things under the RV. Its pretty clear they were perm or long term residents. But if its a rule it should be enforced. One night a dog was barking for hours. I never saw anyone try and remedy the situation. Although there was no rule against old rigs or those in disrepair there were a few that really should have been addressed. One had duct tape holding it together. An eyesore for sure. We would come back, but only for a few days or over night. I wouldn't want to look at the messes for any length of time. read more

Nice RV park but the people who live there full time are unfriendly and a few keep there places trashy boards laying around and blocks and styrofoam. We asked about staying a bit longer until we found a house and the owner herself said she didn't want it looking like a trailer park, I would say it's a little late for that. But if you are just passing through it would be okay because it is all concrete level sites. We have been all over stayed at a lot of RV parks and never treated the way we were here. Our RV is a 2017 Grand Design Momentum in very nice condition. read more

Beautiful 90 foot long level pull-though concrete pads with full hookups. Upon arrival we located an orange folder with our name on it, park info and our site number just inside the main office doors. Thanks for the awesome contactless check-in! Wifi was potty but the 50+ cable channels were fantastic. Ok bathrooms and showers. Park has a security gate that closes at 6:00pm. Nice! Great place to stay in your RV. It's well made for BIG RIGS, which sometimes can be hard to find. We've stayed here multiple times now and have reservations for several more times in the future. It's not perfect - or quite like a luxury resort yet, but they're working on it. It would just be nice if they would add a community gathering area (gazebo with a fire pit or a 2nd dog park) in the far back grass area. People don't seem to socialize together much here. The dog park and community room are near the office at the front of the park. There isn't anything at the back area for those of us parked back there and it's a long walk to those areas for those of us who are elderly and have difficulty walking very far. Other than that's it's near perfect, although it would also be nice if they had a store and cafe or at least a coffee shop where the kitchen area is, but that's not really necessary when you're so close to town. It would just make for a nicer community gathering place within the RV Park. We love the fact that's it's gated and well maintained. We feel very safe here. All of the sites and roads are cement and the sites are spacious with plenty of room for your RV and vehicles. They have a nice large grass areas with a picnic table at each site too. The managers are pretty terrific too - very friendly and helpful. We love this place and will continue to return to DCV RV Park whenever we come back to Topeka to visit our family here. Traveling full-time in a 42-foot coach we've stayed in over 400 RV Parks. We stayed here one-night during August 2019. (1) Dust, some parks are so dusty that even after just a couple nights your unit needs a bath, this place has no dust because it is all paved or grass. (3) Level pads, big coaches need paved or thick gravel pads that are level. We give this park a 5-star rating for having level cement sites. This park has nice spacious sites plus amble room between each site. (3) We live in the age of WIFI technology and there is nothing to stop any RV Park across this country from investing in doing WIFI properly. We never tried the WIFI. (4) Maneuverability, some parks have very narrow roads which make backing up and turning very difficult, we found this park to have plenty of room to maneuver. (5) Satellite, as you know satellite reception is very hard to receive when you have large trees. No trees here so you shouldn't have any problems with reception. (6) Phone Service, we have AT&T which worked great here. (7) Dog play and potty, plenty of room to walk your dog, plus a spacious grassy fenced-in off-leash dog area. read more

Maybe we've misunderstood what a RV park means compared to a campground. This is just a place where you park your RV and go do things elsewhere. There is no shade, and it's like living in a concrete jungle. Only few of the sites had picnic tables and the swimming pool has no shade. The only plus is all utilities were like new and easy to connect. We unfortunately had to leave our 10 days stay 4 days early because of an emergecy at home, but they would provide no refund. read more

Lovely facility, don't know how long it's been open, but wow! Super clean! Lots of concrete for easy rv driving. Perimeter is fenced, with trees ask around, if you are on the perimeter you have shade, otherwise there are no trees. Fabulous pool, huge dog park and playground. Bathrooms are air-conditioned and spotless. Easy hookups and easy access to i70. Great as an overnight stop with kids and dogs. Definitely call ahead! It was at capacity! read more

We have camped in our RV from Maine to Arizona and this is the nicest campground we have stayed in. Very clean with huge spaces. There is plenty of grass and nice concrete pad with bench between each spot. Lots of open area around the sites to walk your dogs. Very helpful staff. Big,level sites. Would give 10 stars read more

Stayed 1week. Everything was clean.!!! All large concrete pads no trees which was good for our internet. They did have 63 channel cable TV. Their WiFi was good and usable. Had lots of places to walk dog, as well as fenced area for exercise. Laundry was in a very confined area 2 washers and 2 dryers, should be more for such a large park. They seem to allow more than two dogs. The people across from us on a diagonal had three in a small outdoor pen. One got loose from the pen ran under my truck which caused my dog to pull me on her lead and run towards it ,which in turn caused me to take a a large fall. Desk was very friendly. There is some noise from the Interstate, but with our Air on it did not hear it. We lived in the O'Hare area for many years and noise was not an issue. We would stay again if in Topeka. read more

We had a fantastic 4th of July weekend stay at Deer Creek. We loved every minute of it and so did our little fur babies. Only 67 miles from our front door. The park is clean, safe and spacious as a get away. This is our second visit and plan to go back again and again. We have already told our friends about it. Our granddaughters loved this park!! The swimming pool and the very clean showers and bathroom won them over immediately. The nice, long, level, pull-through pad made it easy to park our R-pod. We ate at the clean picnic table, and really enjoyed our stay.The gate and trees made for a feeling of safety. We all want to come back. read more
