The playground has a swing set, a small play structure which for them was perfect and a sports court! They have a Little Free Library that we'll be bringing some children's books to encourage reading for the little ones our next visit, since they currently have just 1 children's book! Lastly they have a rocks garden, "Kindness Rocks" for the kids to do some rock hunting and then return with their own painted rocks to add to the garden! We will be coming back to drop off some rocks we collected at work with her friends after we paint them! I would definitely recommend visiting this park with your family, we had a blast and will be back probably once a week!

Folsom City Lions Park is one of the biggest children's parks in Folsom. Spanning the entire space…read morebetween East Natoma, Stafford Street, Folsom PD, and Lake Natoma, there is plenty to do here. The park includes the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary and Barnyard Experience, Folsom Valley Railway, Folsom Library, and Einstein Cafe. Amenities of the park include a very large covered picnic and barbecue area, an educational center, a baseball field, a butterfly garden, lion statues, a veteran's memorial, and more. Summer concerts in the park are played from the gazebo in front of the library. Folsom RodeoCross runs through the park, and shuts it down a few nights per year. Sometimes, there are food truck festivals in the park, although there haven't been many in the past few years, obviously. My favorite thing to see at this park are the peacocks, which roam about year round. I also really enjoy the ambiance of the RodeoCross, which lights up the forest behind the play area with string bulbs hung from the trees. The Johnny Cash Trail passes through the back of the park. To get to it, hike down the path between the accessible children's park and the restrooms. Alternatively, the trail can be accessed from the nearby Rodeo Park. There is, also, technically, a snack bar in the park, but I've never seen it open. Ever. And I've been coming to this park since I was in high school! This park has changed so much over the years. When my family first moved to Folsom, the old library (which was recently demolished) was a few blocks away. The park was sort of just an accessory to the zoo. It's main feature was a tall steel slide. Now, the multiple play areas, library, zoo, and bike trail are all within walking distance of each other. As time has gone on, this park has gotten better and better. My daughter and I have spent many hours here reading books at the library, riding the train, walking around the zoo, and playing on the playground together. Overall, this is a decent kid's park, with plenty of space to run around, and plenty to do. Update: Do NOT hike in the area between the playground and the Johnny Cash Trail, as it is now, apparently, off limits. Temporary fencing has recently popped up to seal off the area. The trail is still accessible via Rodeo Park.

One area is for dogs learning to socialize and integrating them into the park. The second area is for small dogs and third area is for large dogs. There are chairs and a few benches and lots of room for the dogs to have fun on the beautiful green grass. It is best to go in the evening because there are not many trees. There is plenty of parking most nights except when they have three soccer games going at the same time other wise parking is great. I love the people who frequent this park and their little dogs too....

This park is within walking distance of Cobble Hills Ridge Park, and, incidentally, most of the photos posted on this page appear to be for that park! I promise that the photos I posted are current-- I took them just a few hours ago :) The new playground is black and gray and neon yellow, and is very modern looking, in my opinion. The main structure has two slides, a climbing wall, and a twisting ladder. There is also a standalone net climbing structure that looks like a giant spider with a web. Just up the hill from the playground is a basketball court, but there is only a hoop on one side of the court. There is one barbecue pit located on the other side of the park, and an interesting water fountain in the front of the park that matches the modern theme. The park is mostly shaded by oak trees. Dogs are allowed, but must be kept on leashes. Posted park hours are from 7am until one hour after sunset. There is a neighborhood watch sign in the park. I did not notice any bike racks. Overall, I thought this park was super cute. I would definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the area with young kids. What an incredible playground it was, she had a blast playing with all the many kids, she even did some chalk on their sidewalk with them! They even have a Little Library, my first time seeing one with calendars, we picked out a cat one of course! We'll have to return to replenish it with some books since they didn't have children's books inside. I would recommend visiting this park, make sure to use the restroom beforehand tho since they don't have one. Check out their amazing trail by the bridge while you're there, we'll be back to explore more!

Larchmont Park is tucked away in the quiet neighborhood close to Folsom and Tiber. There's a lot of open green space to run around and play frisbee with the pup. Afterwards we explored the levee and the river running along aside. We noticed a couple of playgrounds of the younger kids, and tennis courts. It looks like on some days the field is most used for kids soccer games . It's a well maintained park with easy parking, and there were some port a potty's nearby. When we visited we saw a handful of people walking their dogs, young families with kids playing , lots of grass and pretty fall colored trees . Enjoy :)

We walked our dogs here last weekend; there was just a handful of people with whom we shared the park and nearby trails. From the southwest entrance, you'll enter onto a large, flat field the dogs will want to sprint across (ours did). Along the left side is the levee and a more stagnant slough of the American River. If you want to walk along the levee or its trails, you'll find lots of interesting trees and wildlife. Do know that coyotes are present. Also, this is the post-spawning season, so your dogs may go crazy over the smells and even want to eat or roll in a dead salmon. You were warned! One mile west along the levee will take you to the La Riviera/Watt levee entrance. If you go east, you will eventually get some nice views and access points to the American River. You can jog several miles in this direction and the scenery is worth it!
