The people here make you feel like you belong, even if you're not a member. A couple years ago my in laws were eating at the member guest and had such a great dinner they suggested my wife and I take a closer look for our wedding. We looked at the space and tasted the food and booked it. Our wedding? People won't stop talking about how great of an experience O'Bannon provided them. The food was excellent and the welcoming staff was even better. If you want a laid back club with great golf, staff, food and members then this club is a no-brainer.

Basically, it's a great place to practice your swing with being surrounded by people who are playing for fun and not being as professional. The pressure is not there, as I can tell the atmosphere is more for entertaining and less for strict competition--not to say you won't see those people on the course, it just seems to be a little more low-key. This golf course has a large driving range area where you can practice working on your golf swing. I think we got a large bucket of golf balls for about $10-$12. There were several people who were wanting to do the driving range, so we just walk down a little bit further to have some space for ourselves. The decor of this golf course is not as prim and proper as other golf courses in the area. The property is taken care of, but it is not combed with a fine-tooth comb. It does it's purpose-- if you're there to practice your golf swing and hit some balls, it does what it needs to do. The lawn is not perfectly manicured, but it gets the job done. If you are just in the mood to practice your swing and do not want the pressures of being surrounded with semi professionals, check this place out. It provides a cheap version to practice your golf swing while not feeling the pressure of those around you.

Then lectured us, aged 20, 21 and 23 about right and wrong. After all of that, the manager wanted to check our personal cooler to make sure there was no alcohol. For the rest of the round, his fat sidekick followed us around trying to catch any wrongdoing. He even pretended to leave and turned around to cut through a different fairway and hid behind some trees to keep watch on our group. And that was just the staff, the course surface was horrible. Genuinely like playing in your backyard. Dandelions all over. I lost two golf balls that landed in the fairway. So if you miss left or right even more, you can forget about it. There are so many better playing surfaces and more welcoming staffs to play at for the same price.

I attended a wedding here last Saturday, and it was a very nice venue…read more My fiance was in the wedding party, so we got to check it out Friday, for rehearsal, as well as Saturday, for the wedding. I was shocked when the bride told me they let her set everything up on Thursday (no Fri. wedding there that week) - for our venue, we only get to start setting up about 2.5 hours before, on the day of! Food was very good but apparently was catered (not from the venue), I heard. The venue itself was very charming, as others have said on here, and looks like it would be a nice place to play golf - they have a restaurant too, and locker rooms (my fiance said the groomsmen got to get ready/hang out in the locker rooms before the ceremony). Their ceremony was going to be outdoors, overlooking a waterfall/water feature, but unfortunately it rained that AM and they held it indoors instead - the reception room/ballroom is large enough that this was no problem, and I guesstimate that they had about 80-90 guests, including the wedding party. It was rather windy out that day too so I was glad it was indoors. Overall, a very nice spot to hold a wedding.

Hate leaving bad reviews but this place is not maintained at all, never mind for a golf driving…read morerange. Grass tees are really long and not range grass at all, just tall weeds. Tall enough your ball is hidden if you drop it. If you need practice hitting out of rough, go here, otherwise just save your money. This place could be really good if they just KEPT their grass cut. The entire right side is so beat up you can't even find a place to hit, and the left side has LONG grass. Just go across the street and pay for a 9 hole round, better use of your money.
