Golfed this course for the first time end of summer right after a few days of rain so the rough was extremely long and frustrating. The play due to losing balls just off the fairway when the Golf Course could not properly cut the grass. All things considered it was a really nice golf. Course piece of play was very good. Green fees were reasonable excellent condition condition Golf Course as far as Fairways the greens the layout. I am deducting one star just due to the terrible breakfast sandwich. I got from the little small restaurant in the basement. If that's the best breakfast sandwich you can sell for I think around six or seven dollars you should just not sell anything. An egg McMuffin from McDonald's would've far exceeded what I received for 1/2 the price. Looking forward to playing it again now that I'm familiar with the layout read more

Anyone would be hard pressed to find another municipal course in SW Ohio (or anywhere) as picturesque and well managed as this entire operation (owned by the city of Springboro, I believe). The course boasts 4 levels of tee boxes on some of the prettiest land to be found around this area. There are lots of hills, swales, water holes, and it's immaculately groomed and challenging enough from the back tees to test even the pros. There is a stream running alongside maybe 6 or 7 of the holes with water that's so crystal clear you can see carp, minnows and bass on the prowl as if it was an aquarium. Lots and lots of mature trees, some of them specimens, line the course on numerous holes. There is a generous fairway landing area on all but 1 or 2 holes, where they pinch it in so much that an iron off the tee is the way to score. Big greens on every hole except #15 (wicked!) The restaurant and lower level bar and grill are A-ok also. There's a solid pro shop with much Heatherwoode branded gear; a nice changing room with lockers and showers; and plenty of water coolers on the course. Every time I play here, all facets of this operation run smoothly. The practice range, the putting green, and chipping areas are first class and then some; you have to see it to believe it, so impressive. Many private clubs can only wish their operation looks and plays like this one. Check out my picture of the new ball feeders on the practice range that actually tee up your practice balls automatically. WOW, I tried it and it's amazing. Heatherwoode Golf Course is a gem! Beautiful layout, challenging, and a lot of fun. Their food is great-especially their hotdogs. They even have brand new, fancy carts! When my husband and I played there last weekend, we ran into an issue (The group behind us were messing around, crashing into each other's carts on purpose, and also hitting into us, even though we were not behind on pace of play). We went to the clubhouse and the gentleman did not hesitate to give us a rain check to come back and play another day. They even gave us a free bucket of balls for the range. The employees are very nice and will have a conversation with you. A+ rating for this course! read more

Nice Clubhouse and practice facilities, single 4-wheeler carts are cute and xtra $$! Fairways and greens were what to expect for the fees $$$ But the rough was without exception too long! Public golfers don't hit the fairways every time and EVERYONE spends 10-15 minutes looking for their ball turning a pleasant 4 hr round into an agonizing 5. I went home feeling like I wasted my Sunday and my money! read more

I've been playing here for several years, but the course was in the best shape I've ever seen in. Heatherwood really stepped up their game with their carts too. Brand new carts with GPS screen, super comfy seats and radio/blue tooth. I'll be playing here much more frequently now. Love this course! read more

Yes I work here giving lessons however I get to hear the bad and good from my students. I'm similar to a bartender hearing everyone's problems! It's usually all good however their games need more work! Working with this staff has been the best and the course offers so much as a golfer. Since the course is always in great shape, the superintendent/staff is continuing looking how to make the experience even better at Heatherwoode. Just recently he put in a pitching area and sodded the range (tee) to Bermuda grass which means you will have grass to hit off of in the summer (recovers quicker). Greens are fast, bunkers have sand, tees are healthy and fairways are plush because of an abundant of water. This course makes you think all away around! The coarse and club house look great. Beautiful homes. The rangers on the coarse are everywhere. That's ok...but they are a bit annoying and seem to be in front of you on ever other fairway. Super distracting and rude. They seem to forget we are paying their wages...a polite word could go a long way...if they ever decided to be polite. It's golf not running with the bulls! Course is sharp but greens were slightly inconsistent this morning. Tee time was 9:45am and finished at 1:58pm - 17 minutes ahead of the required pace - but the ranger (guy with a mustache, didn't catch his name) stopped us twice to scold us for our pace and ordered us to play up a tee box. In fact, our tee time was for a party of three and the starter added another golfer to our party who was walking. Severely dissatisfied with the experience. I expected a great game of relaxing golf with family, instead we were rushed and felt unwelcome. read more

Best overall golf experience of my life! I made two calls to coordinate things because my buddy was driving 8 hours from Maryland to play here. Scott helped me on both calls, and he was friendly, professional, and genuinely cared about us having a great experience, which we DID! When I got to the course, I pulled into a parking spot, and within 2 seconds, a young man pulled up in a golf cart and asked if we'd be needing one. I saud yes, and he said here ya go. That's service! The driving range was fantastic on many levels. Maury, the starter, was perfect! He walked us through everything, especially the electronic scorekeeping screen, and even gave us bottled ice water from built-in coolers at the stater's station. The golf course itself was fantastic! I had already done the drone fly-overs on the website, and I was concerned that the course was too narrow, but the design was really nice, and the course was challenging but playable. It was perfect! We got breakfast sandwiches before the round started, and lunch at the turn. The food was all excellent. Every single person we communicated with at Heatherwoode was exactly what I'd hope for -- but rarely get -- at other golf courses. I've played a few hundred golf courses, and this really was the best overall experience I've ever had! Fantastic! read more

Not a cheap course, but you would have to spend a lot more to find a better one. Abundant water on site means the course is in great shape, even mid-summer. Layout meanders with plenty of unique, interesting, and challenging holes. Plenty of water hazards, mature trees, and fine sand. I play around, but always come back and enjoy Heatherwood. read more

Great place to golf. The course is kept clean and well. Not too many divots and messed up grass. The course overall isnt too complicated with hole placement. They are going under maintenance when i played so a few bunkers wernt fully filled with sand so id give 4 stars. read more

Bait and Switch! I went to Heatherwoode with two buddies because of a coupon from the Entertainment book, advertising buy one get one free greens fees. The coupon was limited to after 2:00 on weekends, So I made a tee time for 2:48 on a Sunday. When we got there to pay, one of my buddies paid for himself with out the coupon, his total was about $35.00, with a cart. When I presented the coupon for myself and my other buddy, thinking, logically, that our greens fee would be half of my first buddy's, I was told that the coupon is charged at a week day rate of $65.00, and that our totals would be $32.50 a piece. I was angry, and felt like they had lured us to Heatherwoode with a wildly misleading coupon and then screwed us with some tortured logic. As my first buddy had already paid his money, we were over a barrel and had to pay the $32.50. Now, the golf course itself is pretty nice. But it is run in a fashion that I, an experienced golfer, have never seen. The pace of play was super slow, and no one working there seemed to notice or care. This was probably the result of taking too many tee times and not properly spacing them out. We didn't tee off until 15 minutes after our scheduled time. The starting ranger seemed to not know how to multitask very well, and was easily confused. All in all, it seemed like a really nice golf course had been handed over to people who did not exactly grasp how to run a golf course. I personally will not be going back to Heatherwoode because of the way they handled the coupon situation. I mean, how in the world do you use a buy one get one free coupon, and end up only saving $2.00? read more

Course is in great shape. Price was right for Saturday morning. However the pace of play is extremely slow and the rangers do nothing. Right now we're on pace for a 5 1/2 hour round. I have so much time waiting on each shot I could write this review. Won't be back on the weekend here. read more
