My husband got a drink from him, I ordered tea and that was brought to me by a smiling Alex. we then ordered a snack, we weren't hungry but the smells coming out from the restaurant or kitchen were gorgeous! Husband ordered Halloumi fries and I ordered a slice of apple pie with ice cream. This was brought o to the table by the happy, chatty, Sophie. They made us feel like regulars, and were very happy to see us. we were made very welcome, even as the place was starting to get busier. We were even given a lovely goodbye as we left. We feel like this place is going to become our home from home .........

I came one evening for dinner and ordered fish and chips. They warned me that it would be 45 minutes and at dinner that was fine. I was having a couple beers and conversation. I came back for lunch the next week and ordered a sandwich. It took a solid hour. My colleague ordered a burger, and after 40 minutes they came and informed us that they had no buns. Another 15 minutes and they had buns. But it seems like they went 40 minutes before they even figured out that didn't have buns. So prices are average. Quality is average. Location is whatever. But service is slower than slow.

My experiences with buying flowers usually involve a quick dash to a local supermarket the day before Mother's Day in a frantic attempt to get a decent bouquet for under a fiver that still says 'I Love You, Mum'. With that in mind, I headed to Alison's with a determination to try and find a decent bunch of flowers for a special occasion. The selection of flowers and arrangements on offer at Alison's is both extensive and impressive and even though I'm pretty clueless when it comes to flowers, what I can say is that they all looked very bright and colourful, which is basically my only way to judge a good bunch of flowers (ooh, look at all the lovely colours). The staff at Alison's were friendly and very helpful, meaning even someone as oblivious as me was able to pick a nice bouquet with their help. The prices of their flowers did seem quite expensive, but then again I'm used to coming home with change from a tenner when I usually buy them, so I guess you're paying for quality with anything you buy here.

So they actually only offer you the decorations. They can't really sell people though, that's kind of illegal. Inside Party Palace, there is a large selection of fancy dress outfits for those of you whose idea of a good party/weekend involves dressing up, as well as a good selection of decorations that will have your house/venue getting everyone in the party mood as soon as they enter the door. Party Palace also offers a few more unusual products for your party, such as celebratory cakes and, even more interestingly, ice sculptures. I've never been to a party where there's an ice sculpture; I've always associated them with those parties you see on 'My Super Sweet 16th' on MTV. Certainly not the sort of party I can see happening in sleepy Maghull, that's for sure. All in all, Party Palace is a decent source for your party needs but nearby competitor Fancy Dress Box probably runs it into a close second place.
