What a joke of a company. ADT is having their reputation pissed on by these sub-contractors.

This place is absolutely terrible. You call ADT, and their sales people promise you all the deals and convince you that you won't have to pay a dime for the security system, just the monthly monitoring fee, but when the Tech gets there to install the system, he tells you the hardware will be a few thousand $. He is wearing an ADT shirt, nothing suspicious, so it's not until our system failed LITERALLY THE NEXT DAY, that we find out the actual company our contract with is Defenders. The next day failure was actually a blessing in disguise because they only give you 3 days to return for a refund, and only because it is required by California law. When the tech showed up to uninstall the equipment (took them about 2 weeks to come because the schedule was "full", even though they were able to come at anytime with a 24 hour notice when they were making the sale and installing), the technician that came out REFUSED to remove all of the window sensors because their removal MIGHT BREAK THE WINDOW. We were told no such thing when they were first installed. So now we have to try and take them off ourselves, and possibly break our windows because they said they wouldn't take responsibility for their own hardware. Absolutely ridiculous.l. I won't post the name of the security company we are now going with, so that people don't think this is a fake post just trying to promote other companies, but I advise anyone reading this to do their research online for other options. The one we went with is less than a third of the price for the hardware, and almost half the price for monthly monitoring. I would advise that you steer clear of this company. They installed my alarm system. ADT employs them to do this. The installer told me to call and let him know when I wanted him to come back and explain the system to me. I've called at least 5 times and he's never called me back/ read more

A nightmare for me. 1. On 09/12/2017, the technician is trying to sell us 1500$ equipment and trying to convicing us that our current service is not good. We refused the promotion and we insisted to stay on 19.99$ per month contact. Then the technician said OK and had everything installed. 2. When I purchsed the service, the salesman said I have 19 windows/door which is exceeding their 12 devices maximum. Then he transfered to his manager, the manager said it is OK that they can still give me 10 windows/door devices installed with the same 19.99$ rate. 3. My monthly bill bumped out as 53.99$ since I had the devices installed. I called the ADT and they said Defender security company is in charge of the bill and Defender security company is actually a standalone company which is not a real ADT company. 4. I tried many times to call and every time they give me different answer of my bills. First time they said they need to remove extra devices, then they failed to show up at the scheduled date, later they explained that the technician is too busy. Second time they said it is already 1 month passed and I can't make any changes to my service. Third time the technician came and said I don't have a phone line thus they can't made any changes to my device. Then I requested to cancel the service but they intimidated me that I have a 2 years contract and I must pay full 2 years bills to cancel the service. read more

Their customer service far below 1 star. Worst experience I've ever had. I have talked with 4 different representatives while canceling my service with them all of them told me their own story "How to stop service with as" as result they are continuing to charge my bank account for two months while I'm living in another house. I tried to contact with any managers but they have never called me back. Looks like once you gave them your bank account number they will charge your account as long as possible by lying and giving wrong information about cancelation prices . Finally a girl on the phone gave my fax number to send cancelation letter, and guess what, it's not answering. I called them again and now I have smother fax number. Wow, that's the way how you make money!?!? They tried to keep their service for my new house. And a guy tried to scary me really hard on the phone. He almost promised me that some day up to four bad guys will break in to my house and all my family members will be a hostages and I'll never be able to help them. Also they promised $100 gift card after installation 3 years ago. I called them to find out there is it and they said " you not qualified, you can get $100 if you'll transfer our service to your new house" I'm not a fan to post such reviews but it is my pain. I recently signed up for service with ADT via Defender. I have had the service for one month and within this month the system has malfunctioned twice. We have had two service visits without resolution. The police department had to come out due to the false alarms. I contacted Defender to cancel service due to the defective system. I spoke with Kelly, Cancellation Department Manager (employee number 13363) in St. Louis, MO. She was extremely nasty and frigid. Needless to say, she would not let me out of the contract because the 3 day grace period has passed. What kind of company expects someone to continue with a service that malfunctioned twice within 30 days!!! I also contacted ADT and they stated that they were unable to cancel the service due to my contract being with Defender. I explained to ADT how I will not do business or recommend them to anyone due to the fact that they (ADT) as the parent company can not reprimand Defender (contractor) and assist an unhappy customer. Plus Defender provided rude and unacceptable service via customer service both management and faulty equipment. I am very disgusted that my only options are being stuck paying for a service that I am not happy with or paying $1300 to cancel the service. Please do not sign up with Defenders. If you don't have 3 or more service visits regarding the same problem they will not cancel your contract. Was told that the glass break sensors will also sense when a window is opened. So I upgraded and paid an extra $600. In truth, the only sense broken glass so if someone pries it open, you have no security. He even installed the main motion sensor in the shed instead of the house so now a 2 year old can break in with no problem. I am within the 3 day window and am 100% cancelling this. On 9/18/2017. I called ADT. I was connected to a sales agent that told me the history of ADT and seemed very knowledgeable. I was in the process of having several companies come out to look at my property and give me estimates. The salesperson said that ADT had several promotions available. He told me that he needed $99.00 to schedule the appointment. If I decided to go with another company , my money would be refunded right away. He also asked for the last four numbers of my social security number. I was hesitant because I knew the alarm would be in my husband's name and I told him so. He said he just needed the last four to make the appointment, and once the tech came the paperwork would be in my husbands name. Now the games began. The next day I get a call from Julie from Defenders protect your home. I was concerned because I had not ever spoken with this company. I immediately, called the number given which was not the number I originally called. I was mortified to find out that this was some ADT reseller. I requested to cancel my appointment and have my money refunded. Everything the salesperson said was a lie. I was transferred to a very nasty man that kept me on hold for over 15 minutes. Then he said fine its cancelled and hung up. I had to call back to inquire when my money would be refunded. I told 2-3 days at first then up to 30 days. This is not acceptable for any business. I was so disgusted by the experience that I decided to call ADT at another number I found, and report the incident. Unfortunately, I was told that this happens often and that their re-sellers have several phone numbers to get more customers. A few days later I was alerted to the fact that my credit had a hard inquiry. I disputed it with equifax and called Defenders. I was told, to write an email requesting a reversal. I did, but never received a response. I called again and was told that the woman my case was assigned too had so many of the same request, that she was very behind. I few days later I get a cold and nasty letter stating that they would not be honoring my request. I called the number on the letter and left a message. I called several more times, and no one will return my calls. I sent a second email outlining again, that I did not ever give my consent to run my credit. I can't give consent to a company I had never heard of. Secondly, the alarm was going to be in my husband's name, not mine. This company is taking part in fraudulent practices. It is a scam. They have several numbers to confuse customers. They lie about who they are. They run your credit without consent and then refuse to communicate with you. Please don't do business with this company. They hire CON artists!! I should've known something was off when EARL didn't even know what devices we were suppose to get with the offer we called for ( 7 free wireless sensors 1 motion 2 key fobs for $48.99 month) he sells us all the other window equipment (9) and he says its 2 payments of $350.. which i declined then he says we'll get a 300$ gift card in the mail so we would only pay $400 out of pocket so my husband believed him. After 7 hours he is done "installing" makes me initial a couple of pages on the tablet without letting me read the print he leaves without giving me any paper work then comes back n hands me the paperwork i read through it & my monthly is wrong ($52) & the payments for the other equipment are $400 not $350. so i txt him and he says in 3 months they'll lower my payment another lie i was informed the only way its if i give up the pulse app my payment drops $4 lol I had a feeling he was a scam from the beginning smh DO NOT BELIEVE THE GUY THAT COMES INTO UR HOUSE TO SET UP EQUIPMENT ITS ALL BS .. there's no gift card. The only thing that was kinda legit was the $100 gift card for installation that the promotion offered but we paid 108$ for installation and they require u to send a copy of ur contract and a money order of $4.95 for shipping and handling' took about 6 weeks to receive. read more

Don't ever get adt through defenders. They make it just about impossible to get out of a contract. They do everything they can to get you to stay even though it's three days after initially signing that u have to change ur mind. And the technician up sold me on a BUNCH of Unnecessary crap that I didn't even need and told me I had to get a package no less then like about a thousand total in equipment and later on they told me over the phone that that wasn't even true. And when I thought I was signing a contract with adt because I called ADT, it was REALLY under fucking defenders. It's just all ridiculous. Very very frustrating. And when they don't want to do something they say we don't own defenders we can't do anything about it call them. Just overall thee worst company I've ever had to deal with. Never getting them again once it's time to renew there's no way I'm renewing. We recently bought a new house and was going to cancel our services. Due to high costs of either transferring service or paying off contract, we decided to keep service at our old house. Recently we received a collection letter from ADT and Defender stating we owed full contract payment in full. After being on the phone for over 2 hours, no one could tell me who cancelled my service and they wanted payment in full. Plus, they ran a hard credit check without permission. DO NOT USE ADT/DEFENDER!!! All they want is your money with the worst customer service!!!! read more

They sold us thousands of dollars worth of faulty equipments. We had the police and fire department out to our place for no reason multiple times. They never came to get their equipment or to come fix the issue so now after 4 years they make people call me and tell me they are "attorneys" letting me know that defenders are taking me to court for a debt owed for early cancelation and the years that I didn't stay with them... They are a bunch of scam artists. I reported the number to the FTC. I never got any mail from defenders after I canceled for the $200 cancelation or for monthly payments. ADT is part of this scam. My mother's house was broken into. She did not need to deal with anything else so I contacted several security companies for her through Home Advisor. Defender was one of the companies I answered, because nowhere in their email did they indicate that they were not ADT. So I never even saw how badly reviewed they are. Defender answered her first. The reason I am writing the review is because somehow they kept my name on the contract, despite having her sign the contract. Unfortunately I was not there, because they so obscured how much they were charging, that my mother was shocked when she received a bill of several thousand dollars. She was even more enraged when she learned that the equipment that she was sold does not even work. For example, the window sensors are so sensitive that whenever there is a strong gust of wind, the alarm goes off. The customer service response was awful. They refused to let her talk to them because it was my name on the contract, despite the fact that she signed the contract. When I talked to them, the representative lectured me about politeness, and told me to contact the police because my mother "forged" my name. In short, an utterly despicable company that took advantage of an elderly woman's fear to con her into purchasing defective equipment. And they also had the nerve to threaten my credit rating if we argue with them. read more

To Whom It May Concern, Please do not use ADT or their authorized dealer, Defenders, dba, Protect Your Home. I purchased fire detection from them that proved faulty because it did not notify me of the fire before my home was already engulfed in flames and burning down with my 3 dogs inside. Thankfully, I arrived home and was able to rescue my dogs. I was then informed that despite my home burning down I could not suspend or cancel my agreement and would thus have to pay out the remainder of the 36 month term with ADT/Protect Your Home which came out to over $1,000.00. Considering their faulty monitoring as well as equipment, I was more than willing to pay the $1,000 to be done with this company permanently. I was told by ADT/Protect Your Home that they could not issue me any sort of bill or invoice for the required $1,000! I informed ADT/Protect Your Home that I was not willing to issue them a payment of $1,000 without having something in writing stating what I was paying. I was then told by ADT/Protect Your Home, that if I did not pay out the remainder of my contract, despite not having a home for them to service because it had burned to the ground, they would illegally report me to a credit bureau. So not only do they provide a faulty service and a 10 page fine print contract that was obviously drafted by a bunch of attorneys, they made threats against me in violation of credit reporting law. My recourse against them per the contract is to go to arbitration - why are they treating the little customer like this? What sickens me the most is that despite providing a bad smoke detector and my home burning to the ground they still expected me to not only pay out the contract, but were also unwilling to provide me an invoice or statement in order to pay this fee! Same words: SCAM and double digit # of hours dealing with it. I'm over 20 hours of phone time trying to resolve issues. Led to believe it's ADT but is not. Promise made to cancel Brinks contract w/ no cost/penalty to me - over phone and in writing at bottom of contract. Emily Belfus​, Defender Customer Loyalty Specialist verified call stated "contingent upon Brinks contract cancellation" and will "coach" sales rep - which means what to me and having 2 security contracts at the same time? Current status: 1) After being here 8 hours on 8/28, installation remains INCOMPLETE and not fully functioning; 2) I was overcharged more than $600 for equipment never received and still waiting for the refund promised by Emily; 3) Very prompt billing - already received a $59.99 bill resulting in currently paying $130/month for 2 security systems. Despite ADT name being posted all over advertisement ADT had to be pushed into helping to try and resolve the issue. Defenders have serious communication issues. u talk to a different person every time u call and nobody communicates anything. Why bother recording the conversation if it's not reviewed? I had to schedule 4 separate appointments recently just to simply transfer my service from one house to another. Who the hell has that kind of time to waste on these appointments. They not only messed up my home, but they did not install the security system properly. Over a month later both they and ADT will not give me the time of day. This company also stole all my equipment I had purchased and had used in my home for over a decade. I had just returned from heart surgery and they came into my bedroom and tried to up-sell me and would not leave me alone until I listened to their worthless sales pitch. I am trying to get a full refund and cancel my contract and make them pay me back for the equipment they stole from my home. This is the worst company ever. I got ADT and then ended up moving to a new state 7 months later. I had them come to my house and take my equipment down so I could move it with me. Once I got to my new address I canceled my services at my old house, or so I thought. I have called multiple times in the last 2 months about getting my old house canceled and they always say it is, it's just pending. So now I am paying on 2 houses right now and they refuse to refund my money until my old house is no longer pending cancellation. I also found out that when you move your contract starts all over so now I'm stuck with this awful company even longer. I also called them one day to ask if I was able to break my contract using military deployment orders(because I do NOT want to deal with this company anymore). I told them my husband was going overseas but I was not. She told me that was fine and she got me the fax number and told me just fax the orders and my account information and it would be canceled. I hadn't heard anything so after 2 weeks I called and asked what was going on with it. The guy I talked to said let me look into it asked what day I sent it and I told him. He said ok yes we got it let me transfer you to the correct department. A girl answers the phone, she said because I am not on the orders and the account is not in my husbands name that I can not cancel. The only thing she kept telling me was that the girl who told me I could cancel was new so she didn't know better. After calling multiple times so I could talk to someone different because this girl kept telling me she wasn't going to transfer me, I was told they would look into it. When they called back, the answer was we have good news you can cancel it if you are moving with him but you aren't so we aren't canceling it for you. When I told them that I changed my mind and was actually moving with him they just told me I was lying to get out of my contract. I called ADT and filed a formal complaint about this company and they said I would hear back in 24-48 hours and have yet to hear back from them. I'll add my one star to the other 221 (as of today). Apparently, not installing the equipment on the first visit is standard practice (after reading the reviews). He said I had three months to configure it the way I wanted (yeah right). Figuring what I wanted based on a spreadsheet of prices they sent me, I estimate they would have tried to gouge me for $3000 (over the 'free' equipment) and I would have been past the cancellation period. They falsified my signature (I swear I didn't sign all those papers online) and had my husband sign a contract, charged me $1000.00 for 'extra' equipment, and charged monitoring (even though nothing had been installed) the same day. You have three days to rescind (federal law) which I did (by the way you have to fax or send by mail - I did both). They planned to come back to 'finish' the install and sell me the equipment I had actually asked for. The installation tech didn't come to pick up his equipment after my husband told him we canceled. He said we had to call customer service to pick up the equipment (but nowhere is there a number where someone answers). Fast-forward 10 days later after I have received a bill for monitoring (keep in mind there is nothing to monitor as the equipment has never been installed). I finally reached their office in Indianapolis and they stated that 'yes' they had received my cancellation, but the account manager had not cancelled it (supposedly not their standard practice). They will refund my over $1000 in charges as soon as they pick up the equipment they left sitting in a pile at my house, but that office had just closed. Call back tomorrow. I wasted an hour on the phone where no one picked up, no message, nothing. Yes, these people are unethical, yes these people lie, yes these people are scum. read more

Originally was happy with the installation, but beware of the way they fraudulently charge afterwards. A full 6 weeks after the install I get a call from someone saying they required a permit in LA county to do my install and that I needed to pay them an additional $50. It sounded like a scam, but then they listed a bunch of my personal information to me over the phone. Also, I can't believe the Better Business Bureau isn't all over them....they are a huge company operating like a scam!!!! read more

I recently got ADT security equipment installed by this company. My entire experience of contacting this company as a first time buyer, obtaining a quote on the phone, agreeing to a contract and getting equipment installed have convinced me this is a 'shady' operation. What baffles me is why this company is engaging in questionable business practices when they have everything going in their favor. The name ADT is well known and they are in business for many years. That's how I ended up calling them for my needs. In fact, the name ADT was so reassuring that I did not even think of doing comparison shopping. With such brand recognition, I wonder why would they even have to resort to dubious business practices. I filled up the quote request form on ADT Security Services website. I had hardly hit 'SEND' button when I received the prompt call back. The guy that answered sounded like a typical snake oil salesman. Even before I started asking questions, he started saying "I qualify for hundreds of dollars in equipment credit" and when I said I want to move forward, he said as per their protocol, he has to have his "Manager" come on the line to discuss the contract further. The "Manager" guy started offering even more "free equipment credit" which simply did not make any sense to me. Not until the technician was at my house to do the install next day. They charged a fee of $107.54 to my credit card which I realize now is a 'sham' fee. They said it is to guarantee the technician come in to my house and explain the terms of the contract, They said this is 'refundable' if I decide after the technician comes in that I do not need the service. They said I qualify for a $100 Visa Gift Card which I now presume is a way for them to refund this 'sham' fee! When the technician who walked into my house and started listing the equipment cost running to an amount in excess of $1500, I was flabbergasted! I asked him what about the credit for the hundreds of dollars the sales guys offered me on the phone call. He blissfully acknowledged he had no knowledge of what credits were agreed upon and that's an issue I needed to sort out with the sales guys! I wanted to thrash it out right on the spot with the sales guys who had signed me up when the technician was sitting in front of me. It is when I couldn't get the same sales people on the phone (who had talked to me just a day earlier that I realized this was a 'shady' company I was dealing with. The salesman had audaciously indicated a 800 number to me which he must have been fully aware can never be used to reach him! Once again, my question is why all these games when they could've been straightforward with all charges and fees and I would have still signed up. All I can say to prospective buyers is "Caveat Emptor"! read more

So the problem came after I called to cancel my scheduled appointment for the technician, there were several things that made me realize I didn't want to continue the process with them, including all the reviews I read everywhere. Let me tell you, this guy was 35 minutes trying to change my mind and not cancel it. I was totally cool with just listening and all but I wasn't going to change my mind and this guy after 30 minutes realized it and he started to sound heated, and rude, not with bad words but definitely trying to hurt me, which he didn't. This guy almost cries just for the heated mood that he had. You could listened on his voice. Well he canceled the appointment at the end, but guess what? The "hold" payment until the technician goes to your house" is not on hold, they actually charge it so you need to wait 10 business days for the refund gets to your account. REPORT TO BBB PLEASE! Should have read the reviews first before scheduling. I received the add as well. The add doesn't even have Defender's name on it. It has ADT logo | Protect your Home. Even in the inside is states: WE WANT YOU BACK! Free reactivation Former customer offer. Even when you call to schedule No one states the name Defender. They state this is your ADT Authorized Provider. I had no idea that is was another company until the tech was leaving and, handed me a Customer Care Contact Sheet. The very bottom right shows Defenders Protect Your Home! I'm sick to my stomach because they lied to me and told me it was $36.99 but in the middle of the install I was told it was $52.99. I told Installer BLAIR to stop and put everything back. Now my original ADT alarm system doesn't work anymore because the Tech BLAIR couldn't figure out how to reprogram my old ADT system. So now I have 0 home security. Even ADT corporate told me they can't help without charging me to fix it. The Tech BLAIR stated to contact ADT and request for them to fix it of which he said they should do it for free!!!! LIAR. He then stated to contact Defenders and submit a damage claim! LIAR again. TLDR - Absolutely horrible company. False promises, no accountability, horrible customer service. Avoid at all costs. My wife and I had a home in a different state with ADT through defenders (that was purchased for us as a gift from her parents), and were relocated for work. Knowing the landscape of the security world, I knew we were overpaying monthly for outdated equipment and I was interested in switching to another company. To keep us as customers, Defenders on multiple occasions offered us a $27 rate - the only thing we would have to give up was the security camera monitoring - and over $1200 in equipment upgrades, along with continuing our (her mother's) contract so we didn't start over a new 3 year one. This seemed too good to be true, and I specifically asked questions about the rate, upgrades, contract etc. to make sure we were getting what we needed. Every time we called in, the customer service received was truly awful. We were transferred around to multiple people/departments, our previous conversations never documented, and we would have to start from scratch with the explanation of the situation. One time my wife was placed on hold for over 45 mins (I am sure in hopes that we would hang up) only to have the agent come back on the line saying, oh you're still there?....well yeah.... But finally we got an appointment scheduled for the move. The only problem, they could not come to our old house to deinstall the other equipment before we moved. As it turned out to Defenders, this was not a problem and they could do an equipment match of exactly what we had in our old house, in our new house and they would deinstall at a later date. Great. Day of the new move install comes. (I'll pause here to say that the technician (Michael) was great. He was very nice and professional, and did everything he could to help us out once he unfortunately found out about the situation.) The tech shows up and gets started with his normal process, after a walk through of the house, he gives us the sales pitch with the assumption that this is a brand new install, we explain the situation and he does his best to "match" our old house equipment, even though he did not have enough pieces with him to do so and now our equipment upgrade credits are suddenly gone, we also had to pay the taxes on equipment that had already been bought, and already paid taxes on. After the install is complete, we call to activate the service. They then quote us the 59.99 price, and new 3 year contract, with no upgrades. Needless to say I was not happy - In order to get the $27 rate promised for all the same things, we had to run it through a non existent phone line, downgrade all the equipment have no app/smart access, and have no monitoring...so exactly what are we paying $27 for? In the end we had them deinstall the equipment. It tooks weeks for them refund all the money we paid, even though we should not have owed them a dime. We ended up going with SimpliSafe, better equipment no contract and only $25/mo. read more

I bought a security system from ADT, so I thought. ADT contracts it out to Defenders Security. This place is absolutely horrible. Called to cancel and they fed me false information until my grace period was up and now I am stuck in a contract. Extremely rude customer service reps. Put me on hold for almost an hour one time and then hung up on me. They keep telling me they will "review the call logs and get back to me 48-72 hours" but nothing. I'm called to complain to ADT but because they've contracted it out, they cannot do anything. DO NOT do business with either ADT nor Defenders Security. read more

Defender Security Company is an Authorized ADT Dealer and a stain on the ADT brand. They incompetently installed an ADT security systems in our house. They used deceptive and high-pressure sales tactics. The installer unsuccessfully tried to con me into $4,000 of unnecessary equipment using cheesy, fear-based pressure. If you are considering an ADT Security System, make sure you are dealing directly with the company, not a slimy dealer like Defender. read more

Sold a house that I had for 10 years with ADT monitoring. New owners were up-sold everything even though they didn't need it, they replaced wired with wireless and removed anything related to the already installed ADT system. Defenders Inc decided to use my name on the contract and their sales agent used my forged signature on docusign even though I was not there, is not my house anymore, and they agent knew the home owner in front of him was not me. Non the less a contract was created with my name. They also ran a credit check without my permission. They admitted that I never gave them permission. The credit agency said any " vendor " can run a credit inquiry on anyone they want. Only that vendor can remove the credit pull. Defenders said they would take care of it, admitted wrong doing, but is not following up. I had to file with the CA Bureau of Security and Investigative Services ( bsis.ca.gov ). 7 weeks later and a half a dozen calls Defenders has not removed the credit pull. read more

I had a very bad experience with dealing with this company. They are very rude and unprofessional. They are also very dishonest and deceiving. I pray that this company goes down in flames very soon. I don't want to be stuck with them for the next 3 years. read more

If I could give this company a zero, I would. They suck!! I thought I was calling ADT, and ended up with this company who screwed everything up along the way. 2 months later and I am still having to deal with the company in getting my "gift cards" I was promised and my bill corrected. Their installers damaged my house, and when call their customer service-- (3x now) was on hold for 45 mins each time and then was told to fax my complaint in. Do NOT use this company! I am hundreds of dollars in and now sorry I ever even tried to add a security system to my home. Suckered in to a 3 yr contract now--will cancel as soon as I can. read more

I was a Security Advisor for Defenders Security Protect Your Home in the Alexandria, Virginia area for about 4-5 monthes early 2017. The money was great. If I had stayed for an entire year I was slated to make over 6 figures. However, I quit because I found them highly unethical towards its employees and customers. It is time for someone to come out and tell the truth about this company. The first major issue I had working for this company was the fact we were forced in 15-18 hour work days 5 days a week. There was no Home/work balance, only work. To them, work is your family. Second major issue I had was how we treated the customer. When a customer orders the product, they are pitched a $27.99 plan with 15 free sensors, a key fob and a camera. What that promotion failed to show was that the 15 free sensors were for pre existing wired security systems already placed in the home (which anyone rarely has and is very inferior to modern security systems). What is ACTUALLY free is what is supplied in the basic box they gave to each tech, which has about 5 sensors, a motion sensor and a keyfob. Third major issue is that the $27.99 price is only for landline systems. They fail to mention this over the phone and when we arrive at the house, we are instructed to rush and put the panel on the wall regardless of the plan the customer ordered. That way it basically "pushes" the customer in the more expensive product because a hole has already been put in the wall. We were then instructed to lie and say "I'm sorry your plan on my tablet says that you were for wireless pulse" l, which is $48-52.99 a month not $27.99. Fourth major issue was that we were instructed to pitch a "Fort Knox" protection plan worth thousands and then throttle back the price locking people into a price far more than what was pitched over the phone. We had to convince people aggressively why they should buy the plan far far far more expensive that what was offered. This was called "The Process". All in all, working for this company was a nightmare. I went home many days feeling extremely guilty for lying to customer and missing my family working 80 hour work weeks. The one positive I have from this job was that it helped me understand that money isn't happiness. read more
