She set me up with a free kickboxing class the next day and it was awesome. I bought the Groupon online ($19 for two weeks plus free hand wraps) just to make sure I would continue to like it and I did, so I joined. The workouts are usually an hour long, with 15 min of warmup, 30 min of 3-min HIIT "rounds" of boxing/kickboxing combinations, then 15 min of core at the end. They're not easy and you'll definitely sweat a ton but they're fun. All sorts of people attend classes - young, old, in shape, out of shape, women, men. The guys who teach the classes are great. The kickboxing classes are a bit easier than the boxing classes, which is nice because if you were to go four days a week (Mon-Thur) after work, you'd get two kickboxing classes and two boxing classes. It's a good mix, I don't get bored, and it's really fun to beat something up at the end of a long work day. If you're looking to try a class out for free, I definitely recommend Sean's kickboxing class. It's a great intro and they teach you the moves and wrap your hands ahead of time for you. Tom's and Ryan's boxing classes are equally as much fun but they as trainers are way tougher on the people in their classes (still fun though). I haven't taken classes with anyone else so I can't vouch for them. My only small issues with Title are the fact that it's a bit pricey (I guess that's what I get for not being able to drag my butt to a normal gym) and that they don't have any weekend classes after 10am. Other than those, love this place and definitely recommend it.

I've spent the last 7 years training martial arts in some form. I started with Jiu Jitsu…read more(Japanese-style) and then moved onto muay thai, from one of the premiere MMA/Muay thai gyms in Boston, where I trained for 6 years or so until I recently moved and it's just too far away. I've also used groupons for a few other studios in Boston and on the North Shore - focusing mostly on muay thai and boxing. So I've seen a number of different approaches and formats over the years. North Shore Muay Thai Academy is great because the focus is almost entirely on Muay Thai (they just added some MMA classes). There are different types of muay thai classes every day - no competition with other martial arts like BJJ. I really like that as I have limited time and have always chosen to focus on muay thai (I just love to box) - so it's been harder at other places b/c I was much more limited in classes I could attend. With NSMTA, there are options every day, which is really nice. As far as the classes go, they are divided into technique classes, bag work (cardio and technique), and sparring with pad work. I really like the variety. I'm used to basically either a teaching class or conditioning class. So if I don't feel like sparring on that day, I just go earlier and do a good conditioning bag workout. As far as the atmosphere goes, it's cool. I've been going now for a few months (usually 2-3 times a week) and really like the ppl. It's a good group of guys, everyone is nice, no one is a jerk - which is really nice. Ppl are very respectful and looking to learn and have fun - no one is trying to break noses or anything. I've been places where I didn't really like the other ppl and it's just so much more fun when you like the guys you're working with. Kru Mark is a good teacher (explains the idea behind specific techniques as well as the general idea of the movements) and really nice guy. He's there day after day and brings good energy and an enthusiasm for the sport, which is great. And with his teaching, there's always a theme as we march through techniques, which I like a lot. I like structure to learning (as opposed to each day is a random lesson to learn), and it feels like there some of that here. Also, he teaches nearly all the classes, so it's nice to have that level of instruction all the time. If you're interested in learning muay thai, this is a great place to go.

Studio Poise is truly the best of the best. I started coming here in the fall of 2014, shortly…read moreafter graduating college and moving home. I found out that trying to fit work outs into my full time work out schedule was not an easy thing to do. I didn't have the motivation to go to the gym after work, so I bought a groupon for studio poise and signed up for some classes (if I didn't go, I would just be wasting my own money). Two and a half years later, I'm an unlimited member, attending multiple classes a week (sometimes even multiple in one day). Here is why I love this place SO much: 1. The people: Danielle, the owner, and all her instructors are amazing. Not only do they give a killer workout, they care genuinely about all of the clients coming through the door. After attending only a few classes, they will know you by name. Not only are the instructors amazing, the other women that attend SP are amazing as well. My sister also attends a lot of classes with me, and we have made so many friends (of all ages) here. 2. The classes: First of all, there are SO many different classes, which I love. There is truly something for everyone - from mat classes, to barre, to kickboxing, zumba, and HIIT classes (with new classes being created an added), you'll never get bored. I take a different class every day. Each class is difficult in its own way, and you'll definitely feel like you've got your butt kicked (in a good way). The instructors always offer modifications throughout the class so hat you can adapt to your own fitness level. 3. The price point: When I was first looking around at studios, I couldn't find a better deal than Studio Poise. They the least expensive studio in the area, and you get SO much for your money. The unlimited membership is $150 per month (but you'll get $10 off if you attend 15 classes a month), and you can attend as many classes a month as you want. So if you're attending upwards of 30 classes a month (which is usually how many classes women with this membership take), that's only $5 per class. It's truly a steal. Studio Poise is my happy place, and you should definitely try it out if you live on the north shore!

You get an awesome workout, regardless of your current fitness level! This is my happy place!!read more

The members and instructors are fantastic. Management has excellent communication. When I first started taking classes here two years ago, I won't lie -- I was nervous. I was used to what I knew, dance-related workouts like Zumba and barre, so the idea of weights, rowing machines, TRX bands and battle ropes intimated me. How quickly my mind was changed by Michelle and her AMAZING team. Every class I've taken with a new (to me) instructor, he or she has made it a point to introduce themselves to me and check in to offer help, instruction, and/or modification. The FitRev team is incredibly welcoming, encouraging and motivating. The workouts are so effective and always different so you don't plateau. I am so much happier, healthier and stronger and love the variety of class offerings, including spin, boxing, barre, rowing, Bootcamp and more. I will also add that Michelle and her team have adapted beautifully to the challenges posed the the pandemic. I feel incredibly safe and cared for every time I step foot into the facility. Current offerings also include a virtual platform and the option to schedule your own private class with your "pod." There truly is something for everyone here! Give FitRev a try. You'll be glad you did!
