Definition did a fantastic job painting the interior of our townhouse. They worked efficiently from top to bottom and got all 4 floors of our house done in a week. We did no prep whatsoever, and they handled everything - they moved things away from the wall, took things off the wall, patched existing holes, covered all our furniture, then put everything back when they were done. They were also very considerate about leaving access to certain important areas when they were done for the day - when working on our master bedroom and bathroom, they uncovered everything when they left then covered it back up again as needed - same with our kitchen. We got quotes from 3 companies and Definition came in with a slightly lower price than the other two. Highly recommend! read more

Definition painted the outside of my house and did a wonderful job. They just painted much of my downstairs and again did a fantastic job. I have an old house and painting it is probably a little bit challenging. In particular, the ceilings were very rough and really needed work. They put in the time and I doubt the ceilings have ever looked this good even when the house was brand new. The team is good to deal with and trustworthy. They left the house in immaculate shape and I plan to hire them again to do even more painting. If you don't hire them you are being foolish. read more

I hired Definition Painting Services after obtaining positive reviews from friends and community members, and I'm very happy I did! I had a large job that involved most of the exterior and many places within the interior of my home. The work included power washing, exterior/interior surface repairs, window/tile/trim caulking/grout, and painting painting painting! They were competitively priced (and negotiated fairly), did what they said they would do (plus a little extra here and there!). There were a couple of things didn't initially tun out as expected, but they quickly came back to perform the requested corrections (at no additional charge and without debate). I would not recommend using this company. We hired them to paint our Kitchen and Bathroom cabinets. Something they indicated they have done many times before. Half way though the kitchen job they informed my wife and I that they wouldn't be able to do everything in the contract. We had to hire another, and much more capable painter, to finish the job. The owners Joel and Karen, do not keep their words and will give you the run around. I consider myself a patient person, but I get frustrated emailing and emailing hoping for resolution. They never left any paint, that I purchased for the job, on premises when they were done. The bathroom cabinets need touch up only 2 months after completion. Finally after much ordeal, 2 quarts of paint were left on my front porch. No email follow up. They had the gaul to ask if I would be a reference. I said sure - 1 person called and I clearly steered them away. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because the person who actually did the painting was very nice and very neat. Beware! read more

I hired Definition Painting to paint my kitchen cabinets. Overall, the paintwork was average in quality and acceptable. However, after removing my brushed nickel handles, the worker threw them in a bucket with screws and hinges. Needless to say, this was careless at best and resulted in unnecessary damage. To make matters worse, when brought to the owner, Joel's attention, he stated that he trained his workers to put everything in a bucket this way; totally ridiculous. Furthermore, the owner was unprofessional and irrational when I attempted to resolve this issue by requesting a discount or replacement of my hardware. He insisted that "there was nothing wrong with his 'process'" (of damaging the hardware) and then began to delusionally blame my wife for simply washing the hardware after his worker damaged them. He then accosted me, stating that during the estimate process, I "kept trying to get the price lower"; Joel and I agreed to a price for the work and I signed the contract before beginning the work. He further insulted us by insisting that my complaint was only an attempt to save additional money; this makes no sense either, as I offered for them to supply replacement hardware to resolve the issue in lieu of a discount. I will now incur the added expense of replacing my hardware myself. Do yourself a favor and find a professional service provider. read more

I was replacing the carpet with hardwood floor. I also had new unstained railings, balusters, and a hand rail installed on the stairs. I wanted the stain used by the flooring contractor to match the stain used on the railing; therefore, the flooring contractor gave me the stain. I hired Definition Painting to stain railings, ballisters, & hand rail: sand, apply wood conditioner, stain, & apply 3 coats of polyurethane. Also, to patch/touch in several areas. The quality of the work was poor. The company agreed the work was done incorrectly and wanted to redo the work. I was not confident they could do the job correctly, so I declined their offer and terminated the contract. I also requested to be reimbursed for the cost to remediate their sub par work. They agreed to my request (We did not agree on the amount to be reimbursed). When I sent them the bill and requested to be reimbursed for the cost I incurred, they told me the cost was outrageous, offered several alternatives and to reimburse me for 1/2 of what I paid. I filed a compliant with the Better Business Bureau. In her response to my BBB compliant one of the owners (Karen) stated I was lying, told me "The Lord will be the final judge" and that I should "seek the Lord". I am giving this company one star rating for the owner's unprofessional behavior. The owner's personal attacks on me (saying I was lying) and religious proselytizing were totally uncalled for and very unprofessional. It is possible to disagree with a customer without resorting to personal attacks. A person's choice of words is very important. Saying a person is lying is not a good business practice. A liar is a person who makes an untrue statement with intent to deceive. Just because a person makes a statement that you believe is not true does not make them a liar. The person may have a different recollection or interpretation of the events than you. A person's faith and religious beliefs are personal. A business owner should not push their religious beliefs on the customer. Telling a customer "The Lord will be the final judge" and to "seek the Lord" is rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. read more

Definition painting did a wonderful job painting our home. They took a full two days to prep and take care of nail pops, cracks which really made a difference in the final outcome. We used their color consultation service which helped tremendously with our final selection of colors. They provided all the paint (4 different colors) which was a huge help. We requested that this job be completed in a very short timeframe. They honored our request and finished the job on time. We had a few issues with the reinstallment of our window blinds which they came back and addressed promptly. We were very happy with their services and our house looks gorgeous! read more

I have used Definition Painting Services twice now and have been really happy with the work they do and the prices. The first time I used them was when I was getting my house ready to sell. It was a huge job involving both the exterior and interior of my home. They painted the entire inside of the house as well as the kitchen cabinets, built a closet so that a spare room could be listed as a bedroom, replaced an attic door, painted exterior shutters, insulated a laundry room wall, and more. The work was extremely well done and the price was fair. The workmen cleaned up after themselves and were very efficient. My house sold in no time! I was so pleased that I used them again to paint the entire interior of my new house and to renovate the kitchen. The kitchen reno included adding kitchen cabinets, removing a soffit ceiling, relocating some vents, adding lighting, and removing some ceiling hunt cabinets. There was a short deadline as I wanted the work done between the date we closed on the house and the date we moved in (about 2 and a half weeks time). Definition Painting met the deadline with time to spare and did a great job. I highly recommend them. read more

They never finished the painting job! They insisted on being paid when they were about 90% done. I paid them and they never returned to finish painting. They also left paint splatters on doors and white over-spray on a green wall. They also failed to repair the dents and bumps in the wall that they were paid extra to fix. All of my complaints on the inside are nothing compared to the terrible job they did on the outside. Hundreds of dollars in damage to my house with deck floor epoxy paint (redwood color) splattered all over the the side of my grey house and splattered on the deck spindles. The owner kept telling me they would come back to fix it all. He claims he did send someone once but we were not there to meet him because he was at least 2 hours late. The owner stopped answering my calls and emails about 6 weeks ago. I reached him once when I called from a different number but he said I would have to call back the next day. I've never been able to reach him since. read more
