Since I had already handled the cleanup myself, I declined their offer. I hope moving forward there's more attention to preparation and proper demo practices so situations like this can be avoided for other clients. I want to share my experience so others know what to expect. When the roofing work started, the lack of professionalism was obvious. There was little to no preparation--no tarps were laid down, and debris was scattered all over my yard. I recently had landscaping done, and it was frustrating to see roofing materials, nails, and trash . Even after the job was "completed," cleanup was incomplete. I'm still finding roofing debris in my backyard, on my grill, and even on my smoker. They also damaged my outdoor lamps and didn't bother to fix or properly replace them. To make matters worse, they left behind leftover materials, including a large box of nails and roofing liner. Oh and because they had little care for prep my dog's water/food bowls had material thrown on them. If I wasn't paying attention they would of ingested that stuff. As someone who grew up around roofing (my father is a roofer), I can say this level of carelessness is not normal--it's sloppy. While the roof itself may look fine at a glance, the overall experience and lack of respect for my property were disappointing. I would strongly encourage others to be cautious and ask detailed questions upfront before hiring this company.

We also pursued legal action, and judgments were entered in our favor in Lee County, Florida related to this matter. It's quite simple - STAY AWAY FROM JANNEY ROOFING.  Our roof project started in October and just…read morefinished in April.  They are quite possibly the most inept company.  They will talk the greatest game with NO follow through other than constant issues.  Horrible oversight by "project managers" - we use that term very loosely since we were constantly watching for correct procedures, safety issues, and cleanliness - and having to relay that information to the PMs that were going to be onsite for - if nothing else communication assistance.  Disrespectful workers - parking in the yard, on top of sprinklers, leaning ladders on finished roof pieces - that was a BIG NO NO according to the PM however never stopped.  Parking cars in our driveway overnight without asking, showing up to work on our roof in the black of night without permission.  Left flaming Cheetos spilled all over our white landscape rocks, trash everywhere, women walking around our yard and driveway with babies in the evenings, children ride toys left in the drive, repairing cars on a Saturday night until 11pm, and we have a stack of notes on other issues like this.  The PM Nate is a bully and does NOT like to have to deal with women - especially one that is intelligent.  His sidekick Jillian has such a lack of experience he couldn't even answer questions by the inspector.  They would send update pictures claiming it was taken when they were leaving the job sight and it obviously was not taken then based on the sun setting.  Multiple times we questioned the work being done and were told that they'd handle it during the end punch list - causing major repairs to be done instead of catching things and doing it correctly the first time.  They say they will care about your home as if it's theirs but that's the farthest thing from the truth.  Nate lies, argues, and will change his claims.  If there was oversight on a regular basis many mistakes wouldn't have had to be redone.  If there was oversight and someone on site to communicate with - to ensure there were no language barriers - many issues wouldn't have happened.  The inspector told us that they did the bare minimum to get things passed and if it was his house he'd being seeing them in court.  We've had neighbors stop to ask who we were using so they DIDN'T use them.  They would not respond to communications sent by a woman yet immediately would respond to the man of the house.  The corporate staff eventually got involved attempting to fix the numerous issues and rebuild trust.  It was too late - they couldn't save themselves if they had to.  During the final walk through Nate was so disgusted by our concerns you could see him physically trying to control himself.  The manager of production even had to step in and back him down a couple of times.  Our sales people were no where to be found, our customer representative was no where to be found throughout this whole process.  Our two major asks were communication/follow through and respect for our property - they failed miserably on both accounts.  We can provide documentation to support all of this.  We asked for documentation from them and they wouldn't release things until they receive payment - these were simple accounting asks - yet nothing often passing the buck to someone else. They claim to be the best in Orlando - and we find that hard to believe - and if so, Orlando, you deserve better.  The final punch list we were told was going to take 1-2 weeks, they were done in a day and it was a "bandaid job at best" according to the inspector, and nothing like the product they had promised - it actually looks worse.  Had we known - we would not have allowed them to change it. (This we were told by the PM during the debrief was a lie we were telling).  Janney did have a debrief meeting with us - setting the tone with "we all know why we are here, and asked that we keep things to the facts"and that the meeting be "professional".   They apologized for the mishaps we have suffered through but offered no restitution other than a "learning experience" for them.   The top corporate staff acknowledged that the end result in areas was NOT finished as well as they would like but it was done to "standards" therefore they would not be correcting anything further.  We suffered this nightmare for months - there are MANY better options out there, please learn from our mistake and save yourselves the pain and suffering of this horrible company.

What a nightmare!…read more Century roofing replaced our roof after hurricane Milton, and destroyed our home due to their poor workmanship and complete lack of accountability to repair properly. Our roof was "completed" on January 4, 2025 and immediately started collecting pools of water under the roofing material. We contracted for a modified bitumen flat roof replacement with a hard 3/8" silicone protective coating. That style roof is tightly bonded to the underlying hard material. What they installed, without our knowledge nor consent, was a loose plastic sheeting that was poorly attached at the edges with a thin 3/4" flashing and sealed with acrylic caulking. none of that would have passed a building inspection. Did I mention that they never pulled a permit, as required by law? Well the acrylic caulking melted away on the first warm day (which is almost any day in Florida). Water constantly built up under the cheap plastic roofing material and we could feel waves whenever we walked on it. The expensive silicone coating that was to harden more than concrete within six months, never bonded and crumbled like sand to the touch. Our home interior became unusable for months due to ceiling collapse, water damage and mold. it smelled horrible for months. We reported the problem immediately, and often until October, when we realized that they would never repair it. They had sent people to randomly caulk areas to "fix" the leak, even though it was apparent that the entire seal was faulty and that the materials under the cheap plastic were full of water and mold. One time, the home office sent a crew to replace one piece of underpayment, which they did while completely ignoring that all of the surrounding wood and materials b egg low the plastic were very wet and moldy. The owner himself even came out and declared the roof to be dry and properly installed. we have videos from before and after his visit showing puddles of water below the cheap plastic material. We never once went onto our roof from January until October without feeling those puddles under our feet. Iur flat roof is actually our terrace that we use regular. it was clear that their repairs were never going to fix the problem and our home would remain unusable until we hired someone to replace their work in the flat roof. Both areas of flat roof needed to be completely removed and started from scratch. So we had to pay another roofer to do that. A few days after the owner of Century declared the roof good, the new roofer pulled it up and found 80% of the wood was rotten due to water damage and mold. None of the industry standard methods of sealing the roof had been performed. Just short cut after short cut. We also had to pay another contractor to remediate the water damage and mold throughout the interior of the house that all came from the century roofing installation. We had just redone the interior earlier in the year after hurricane Milton, so everything was good before the horrible roof from century destroyed it. I wish that I could say something positive about Century Roofing, but I had to pay to replace my roof twice plus several thousand dollars more to remediate the damage caused by their poor workmanship and defective construction.

DO NOT USE AS A HOUSE BUILDER. Poor in fit and finish for my custom built house. I can't comment…read morethe roof installation or repair service. If you were unfortunate to have already hired them as a builder, DO NOT PAY THE FINAL DRAW UNTIL THEY REPAIR ALL ITEMS ON YOUR PUNCH LIST. This was my first construction loan and the builder told me it was normal to pay the final draw and all items on my punch list would be repaired. Once you pay them, you will be put on the backburner and they will concentrate on making their next dollar rather than taking care of a customer that fully paid them for a house. My construction contract states the builder is obligated to repair all the items on my punch list. But they choose what they want to repair rather than all the problems on my punch list. Examples of all the problems with pictures below. Many cosmetic issues with wall finish, door frames, window sills. Both double doors to the back patio are not sealed. I can see sunlight coming through the top and bottom of the doors. Both left hand back French doors do not have holes on the transition to lock the door down. Office window caulking contracted and needs recaulking. Crown molding in following rooms contracted and needs caulking. There are no quarter rounds or other rectangle trim to hide the unlevel floor so all the baseboards need to be caulked with white caulking. They are currently caulked with clear caulking. Many door frames are not square. Many doors are not plumb and open or close by themselves. All baseboards in the house have gaps below them due to unlevel floor. Gas lines to the rangetop, dryer and on the back porch need to be sealed off at the wall. Bugs are entering here. Missing doorstops all over the house. All the interior door strikers need to be replaced with longer strikers to prevent damage to the wood door frame. The metal door latch is hitting the wood frame before it hits the short striker plates. Especially the eggericious craftsmanship on the door to the garage. Metal on wood... metal wins. Baseboard needs to be completed on the side and behind the refrigerator opening. Front door handle is loose and not flush at the bottom. Range hood: Not completely installed. Missing top crown to cover ductwork. Work I was billed and paid for but not done. Cabinets: After soft close hinges were installed, some cabinet doors will not close all the way without manually pushing in by hand. Three cabinet areas missing trim. Pointed out by the last cabinet installer. I called the cabinet company (TrueWood in Longwood, FL) and they said the cabinet install was not complete and it should have been trimmed out completely. Last cabinet contractor said he would tell TC Metal to order one missing shelf. Spice cabinet rack rubs the wood on one side. Cabinet company said it needs to be adjusted so it does not rub.
