My first contact was with a very friendly Chelsea who dispatched someone to take a look at the roof for a leak discovered after the recent rainfall. Lance, who is one of the managers, came at the appointed time and introduced himself. He made me feel comfortable and I can honestly say that my anxiousness dissipated as he explained what may have happened. He went up on the roof and was up there for only about 15 minutes. He came back to the door and said he found the problem and patched the area. He said he believed it was a nail popping out and protruding into the shingle and advised me to not fix the ceiling immediately so I could watch for any additional problems in that location. I cannot say enough that Lance was professional, friendly and just a really nice guy. Based on my interaction with Chelsea and Lance I will definitely tell people to use Collis Roofing! DO NOT HIRE THEM. My HOA hired this roofing company to replace the roofs in our neighborhood. The roofing company didn't properly place the tarp, leaving my porch ruined after I just paid hundreds of dollars to get it pressure washed. They also destroyed the bushes on the side of my house. I went back and forth for months, with the HOA and Collis. First they send out a guy who is supposed to pressure wash my porch but he didn't have the equipment, then they sent out a guy with a bucket and broom! Collis told my HOA they don't cover pressure washing in their warranty! This isn't a warranty issue! They left my house a mess! I had to pay out of pocket again after receiving a letter from the HOA threatening legal action. The bushes that they destroyed in January 2025 are still missing as well! They responded to my Google review with more lies, so I've addressed those lies on their as well. read more

We just had our roof completed. We had a leak on the roof and the connection between the main roof and sunroom. The salesman was not pushy, answered all my questions, and didn't try to oversell products. He actually talked me out of a higher end product saying we didn't need it with our roof system. The crew was efficient, hard working, and did a quality job. The county inspector even said we made a good choice with Collis as they always do quality work. We had one rainstorm since and no leaks, but waiting for hurricane season storms to see how the roof holds up. We were really pleased. read more

They replaced our roof. Within a year or two, there was a leak. Collis was too busy to come look at it. As mold had started to spread in the room where the ceiling was wet, we called another roofing company. They looked at it and said the issue was that Collis had dropped/left a tool in the roof/under the shingles. Collis was still too busy to come out and look at it/repair it, but they offered to come out and put on a tarp the roof for $750! We ended up having it repaired at our own expense. Maybe they don't have time to repair their shoddy workmanship because they're out performing shoddy workmanship on other roofs. read more

Call Collins Roofing for a second opinion to verify a roofers inspection. Inspector from "Roof Claims" came by to inspect my roof after seeing two of my neighbors having their roof replaced from Feb hail storm. Once he was done he called me and stated you definitely have hail damage and need a new roof. I already had my roof replaced 6 years ago with Collins, so I called them back to verify Roof Claims findings. Not to my surprised Matt from Collins Roofing call me back with a "honest " inspection stating my roof does not need to replace and I do not have any hail damage. I thanked Matt very much and he stated this is our company and we do things the right way. I needed three areas of my roof repaired and put a request in on Collis' website on Sunday Sep 24. Collis called first thing the next morning starting the repair process. Adam showed up September 29 at 11 AM and inspected the areas needing repair and determined what needed to be done. Repair was completed Oct 12. Everyone was very professional and nice. For a company that touts its "family-run business" credentials, Collis Roofing certainly does not treat its customers like family. Fish rots from the head with this organization as far as their warranty coverage. After their incompetent warranty department dragged out my legitimate warranty claim (for multiple shingles repeatedly blowing off our roof) for over 3 months, I appealed to the CEO for help in getting the warranty process moving. Had a leak around my chimney. Paid Collis $742 to repair it, but it still leaked. They sent out another guy to look at it, and he said it would be a bigger job than they thought. That was over 2 months ago. I keep calling and emailing, but they just ignore me, and won't even return my calls to give me an estimate. Collis is the roofing company that installed my roof for a dr Horton home. The tiles didn't have nails in many of them. We found a broken one in an area that you couldn't see but it was over 1 years old old so they have no desire to fix their mistakes. Also the concrete grout that they use for the tiles is cracking. Dont recommend them, they done even believe in their own product cause they only insure a 20 year roof for a year. read more

My Father has tried to contact them by phone numerous times but gets "No one is in the office to take your call"This has been going on for over a year My parents house is 900sq ft and they're holding a $10k insurance check. They replaced my roof back in 2018 charged my insurance company almost $20k for a 1100sq ft home. While replacing my roof the workers almost burnt my AC because they placed a tarp over my AC... I need a new roof, one I am going to pay for, not through insurance, so I requested an estimate from Collis and three other roofers for a metal roof. Collis was responsive and sent an estimator within a couple of days. When I got their estimate, I couldn't believe it. They were $5,500 higher than the next closest estimate, and over $9,000 higher than the other two. Also, any plywood replacement with Collis is extra, whereas every other vendor included some plywood. Needless to say, I didn't choose them. I chose this company because the sales guy provided detailed quotes and walked me through everything. During this entire process he seemed the only one at the company to actually care. They missed two start dates, they broke my wooden gate, left tar paper all over my yard and my neighbor's. I'm still finding the roofing nails in my yard and have stepped on more than a few. They left the dumpster in my driveway after they finished the install for four days. I had to call to have them remove it. I had some leaks under the stucco and they removed the stucco and left the work unfinished for an entire week and they didn't address it until after it rained and leaked inside the house. This happened on two occasions. The sales guy was the only one from the company to come out and personally take a look at it. They put the ridge cap on but did not cut a ridge vent into the roof. I came home one time and there was a mom on my roof in flip flops, the dad was down doing something but the shocking thing was there was a 3 or 4 yr old little girl running around my yard amongst the tools. My friend, Hosea Crooms had to have his roof replaced from a guarantee. These people have stalled for over 1 year and are refusing to pay for materials in an attempt to reduce their obligation to my friend. A Mr. Jack Lambert said he inspected my friend's roof but never actually did the inspection after writing an inspection report that the roof was fine. A second inspector, did a follow-up inspection and found many problems with the roof after Mr. Lambert failed to actually inspect the roof. The roof is replete with bad wood as well as 2 bad pipe boots that still have to be replaced. There is also excessive condensation in the attic. Collin's is refusing to do anything more, until Mr. Crooms pays for materials, which is not part of the guarantee. These people are dishonest and are simply trying to wear my friend down, which will not happen. There are also mold problems from the work. I contacted the company for an estimate because I noticed a leak. The next morning I got a text message that said: Good Morning XXXX, What is the property address? I responded with the address. Two hours later I received a texts that said: Are you wanting a replacement or a repair? Normally at that age we are looking at replacement (the age is 16 years on a "30 year" roof). Have you heard of a thing called "Customer Service"? People contact "professionals" because we do not believe we possess the knowledge to make an informed decision. Asking me to decide on whether I want to repair or replace my roof should probably come AFTER you actually look at the roof and offer an opinion. Clearly I was being pre-qualified to see if my spending would be worthy of their time. So much for Free Estimate! I am totally blown away by the lack of empathy and basic business practices I have experienced in only 2 introductory messages from this company. This would have been a five star rating but there was a huge issue with getting them to provide a final bill and then getting them to process the check. Collis did a roof repair about 4 months ago, and then a larger leak appeared only a foot or so away from the original repair. They are saying it is in a different area. My concern is, if the leaks are that close in proximity, why didn't they see that area at the time of the other? I think they zeroed in on the first spot and the looked no further; apparently should have done a more complete inspection the first time so both spots could have been repaired at the same time. Their roof repair costs are not cheap. Extremely disappointed that they won't make it right or take any responsibility whatsoever that they MAY have missed something. Hate writing bad reviews! Our builder contracted with them to install tile roof on our house. Underlayment was installed 6 1/2 months ago and have been unable to get them to return to install tiles. The UV exposure has exceeded the six month limit on exposed underlayment They have promised at least a half dozen times to show up at a given date but always cancelled. Avoid this company like the plague. Trying to communicate with the Jacksonville office is painful. Without exaggeration Collis Roofing may have the rudest and poorest customer service I have ever had to deal with. And I had to keep on top of every single step of the process, sometimes hammering people, which I'm not fond of doing. And don't believe any timeframe they give you. I was told 2 separate times gutters would be on "within the week". I said... are you sure ? We want to put our house on the market." Again I was told... yeah yeah... you're good. DISMAL operating skills for a "family company." Absolutely no management skills or follow up. We scheduled an appointment for an evaluation and quote for repair of a roof leak and were given a window of 12pm - 4 pm on Friday 11/22/19. We were to expect "Willie." At 3:45pm I called the office to see when I might expect Willie to arrive. Gabriella, in repairs department, was going to let me know and I could expect a call back in 10 minutes. NO call back. At 4:10pm I call again and was told the vehicle was on its way to my house and call back at 4:30pm if it hadn't arrived. No one showed so I call back at 4:45pm and they have no idea where Willie is, and by the way, Gabriella has gone home for the evening. I would not recommend ANY dealings with this company. read more

I called 3 months a go for a quote, the sales rep showed up, i spoke to him in front of my residence and explained to him i was interested on a metal roof. The worst thing I have ever experienced in customer service. I requested to speak to a manager on multiple occasions, I tried through their reception, finance department, and was always rerouted to my sales contact. They started a month late, didn't finish the job and then started demanding final payment, finished the job but left a mess and routed my gutters according to their mood rather than our agreed upon contract. I caught them lying on several accounts and they denied them for months for no reason but I guess lethargy. After I bluntly called them out and showed evidence, they put in a half assed effort to remedy it, never apologizing for the lies they spent months defending. 4 months of agonizing communications and the project is finally complete. These guys do not respect their customers or themselves. Piss poor communication. Zero follow up. Do yourself a favor and go with a higher bid. These guys arent worth any cost savings. read more

Long story short, Collis Roofers came out on 7/10/19 started working on the tile roof and as I am typing this 7/13/19 I have a bigger hole in my ceiling. We had some very pushy companies come, so I was very specific with the questions and expectations I had for Collis Roofing. They excelled and I had nothing to worry about. They knew we were on a time crunch since we just moved out of state and the closing of the house was coming quick. They pushed the date up for us and got it done way before the deadline, updated us and even texted us pictures since we weren't there to check on it. Best price, best job, not pushy. Very unprofessional they did some work at my home, I paid for the service, then I was promised by their manager and service contractors that I would get a picture of the job being done, I called over and over and no one had the decency to call me back or send me the picture they promised, as a result I lost the insurance on my home because they refused to send me the pictures of the work done. We have a concrete tile roof installed by Collis about 5 1/2 years ago. We sold our house. During the inspection a few tiles were found to be loose and naturally we had to have those secured. The repair crew were at our house for about 10 minutes to fix these few issues. We were charged $270! Ridiculously excessive. The roof is a handsome roof. But, if you have a Collis roof, be sure to get an alternative quote before considering them to make any repairs. read more

Unfortunately for me, this review is an easy one. I've owned two homes that have had roofs installed by Collis roofing. Both roofs had leaks. My current home has a roof installed by Collins's roofing and I had to have a whole section replaced costing me 1000s. I tried to get them out to look at it before I paid to have it repaired and they just kept telling me they would come out and they never did. Then, when I discovered another issue, I finally got them to come out. Granted it was weeks after making the appointment. When they finally came out, they observed the issue and blamed it on the framers. I then asked for a quote and they promised to have it right over to me. It has been over a month since they inspected the issue and I've called them twice for the quote, yet they still have not sent it. While the subcontactor they used to do the work did a good job replacing our roof after we had hurricane damage, the company itself is beyond shady and illegally cashed insurance checks made out to our bank who was also involved in the restoration process. After doing an assignment of benefits agreement, which specifically states that the company will accept the insurance payment as 100% payment in-full for the work, they then attempted to illegally bill and then harass us for an additional $6,500 in costs they say they incurred replacing roof decking.
