I have purchased many items at Ace Hardware in Smithville, if I need help with small engine repair, get the service professional approach and 100% satisfied. Go to another store, say, Walmart, have your small engine serviced! Sometimes small personal approach is better, Ace offers that kind of service with people that care read more

I am familiar with Ace service and products as a customer and previous employee. I have used Ace products and paint before and usually receive great service at Ace Hardware stores. So far I spent hundreds of dollars with much more to do. Unfortunately the service is poor at Dekalb Ace Hardware and not what you would expect from Ace Hardware. They do not use rewards like they should. Also, I asked to have a Minwax oil stain shaken and the sales woman said it would put bubbles in it, I said it would be fine as it settles and otherwise too difficult to mix by hand. She asked another woman possibly manager and she then refused to shake it. I was stunned at the lack of courtesy and said I would go somewhere else then. She then ran out to my car and said she would call the police! that's right! call the police! if I didn't purchase the paint in the shaker!! I regret that I went in and bought the gallon of paint. OMG I have never been treated so poorly at Ace! I will not shop here again unless I have an urge to be abused. I went to Walmart and bought the primer less expensive and the stain which they happily shook for me. Maybe they should learn service skills from Walmart. read more

I was told they would be in by the end if the week. This mind you after I was already told all but one cabinet (an upper which doesn't hold things up) was available. The end of the week came I had to call them for an update only to find out the cabinets were not there right color and would have to be refinished. Now it'll be another week to 10 days before I can finish my clients kitchen. A kitchen that normally takes only a week to demo and complete. My clients are not happy with their service as they are without a useful kitchen. Insult to injury there has been no apology, amends or remorse. It just good business to push to provide the product you promise making it priority especially when you mess up.
