I use to love bring my children here for their dr. appts,. They're adults now and I bring my grandson there who has autism. Since the practice has been brought out, the new staff is not as friendly or helpful as they were before. You can't call in and speak to someone you can't call in and get your prescription, everything is online and for grandmother sometimes these things are difficult. I would need to speak to someone. The young lady I spoke to the day was not very nice or friendly and kept me on hold for 20 minutes. It was not appreciated. There are some good doctors there still but the service is not the same. read more

We are very happy with the doctors at this practice. My favorite part is that they do not take walk in's. For a parent with a screaming child who HAS an appointment, this is great news. If your child is sick., you can call and they will get you in that day. Our favorite doctor is Dr. Marcus, but really, they are all wonderful. They do visits at Dekalb Medical (if you are expecting), which is nice too. Oh, their nurses are great when it comes to everyday questions re: really anything. one downside.... No nights or weekend hours. This can make it difficult. You can call and have the dr paged after hours, but you may be charged $15. However, if your child is THAT sick that you want to talk to the dr, you should probably go to the ER or an Urgent Care. read more

The service sucks. Front office and check out service is horrible. After waiting 30 minutes to be called back- the nurse Bianca couldn't check my child's height correctly. Then she didn't check his blood pressure and pulse. Checkout- Cheryl Johnson is the worst. No smile or pleasantry from her. She yelled at me and had the worst frown on her face. I see why there are so many reviews about the etiquette of the staff. It starts at the top. Dr. Wilkov refused to order my daughter a blood culture despite an emergency room doctor's advice. She threw her degree and 35 years of experience in my face. I called the nurses line three times within the last two days regarding my 7 week old daughter's rising fever, each time I was met with a nurse or doctor who was clearly annoyed by my questions. After calling about her rising fever again today I spoke to a nurse, then to Dr. Wilkov. I asked them to order my daughter a blood test so we could ensure she does not have a bacterial infection (per the emergency room doctor's advice). She refused, after some back and forth I asked Dr. Wilkov to explain why she would not order my daughter a blood culture and she said "because she has no medical reason to." I am now at the emergency room (again) and Dr. Wilkov has released me as a patient and told me to find healthcare elsewhere. She openly accused me of not caring for my infant daughter and said "if you don't want to pay a $200 copay for an emergency room, then would you pay $5000 for her medical care?" I asked her to explain that comment but she refused. My infant daughter still has a fever, the nurse at emergency room immediately ordered my daughter a blood culture. I can't help but wonder if Dr. Wilkov assumed I didn't care for my daughter based on her immediate assumptions about me over the phone. I asked Dr. Wilkov how to file a complaint against her practice. She said I would have no success with a complaint against her office. She said "What are you going to tell them? What do you have on me? Are you going to tell them you refused to take my medical advice and tell them that I hate black people?" I have never seen anything like this in my life. I am an educated woman with a professional career. I have had enough life experience to know that Wilkov's decision to interact with me in such a manner is not normal or acceptable under any circumstance ESPECIALLY when the life of a seven week old infant is on the line. Details of my phone calls and experiences with this practice are below: I brought my daughter in with symptoms of a cold on 11/12. I was dismissed after a visit with a practitioner and told I could call the nurse advice line if I had any additional questions or concerns. I called that night when my daughter ran a fever and received no answer. I left a message and received a call back the next day. The on call nurse said she "didn't hear her phone ring last night". I called on 11/13 and spoke to a rude nurse named Radelia. I told her my infant was spitting up more than usual and she said "well babies spit up". I told her my infant's hands were unusually cold and she said "well it's cold outside". I had to pry information out of her. I called the night of 11/13 and spoke to doctor Pollack. I told her my infant was coughing more than normal and that she had a fever the night before and had a fever that night. She asked a few questions and said "there's nothing you can do". When I confirmed that the cough wasn't anything to worry about she said "I know it's annoying but there's nothing you can do about it." Wilkov released a parent who is only requesting blood work for her daughter to ensure she does not have a bacterial infection. I emphasize the fact that Wilkov released my daughter from her care two days before her scheduled two month vaccinations; she released a 7 week old from her care who has had an active fever for three days. She justified her actions by telling me that in her opinion a runny nose and a fever are of the same level of seriousness and she tried to tell me that bloodwork would not diagnose any illness. She made a poor choice of words assuming that I would call the state medical board to tell them that she "hated black people". Dekalb county is the third most diverse county in Georgia. Let her comment to me and the lack of diversity within her own medical staff speak for itself. Wilkov's entitlement is not worth my child's life. read more

I actually had to delete my good review and give an update: This practice has been at a decline for about the last four years and for me they've hit the bottom. I had a very bad experience with one of the doctors who just flat out refused to listen to me and my concerns about my child. Another time they completely missed my child's speech delay after I repeatedly brought it to their attention, I was ignored! Even after all of that I stayed because they've been with me since my children were newborns, you know?! they were familiar, I guess... But I've decided to leave the practice after in the middle of my pouring my heart out over concerns I had about my child, the doctor interrupted me and said she had other patients to see and that the services I was asking about for my child were going to be expensive. (Seriously?) Sorry Dekalb Peds three strikes and you're out. P.S: Also, I've noticed that the doctors seem to deal with parents only, but when it comes to dealing with the kids their bedside manner is lacking. Please Dekalb Peds, if you are reading this: start building a relationship with the kids, they are the ones who are your patients after all. I read all the horrible reviews and thought twice about calling, but this was the closest practice to my home, so I thought I'd at least give them a chance. I was heartened when I heard the personal on-hold message from Dr. Wilkov. I thought, "Maybe they've realized that they have a problem and are trying to turn things around." Oh ho! Not so! As soon as I was connected with Valerie, the receptionist, I saw what many people are complaining about. She is the rudest person! And I have been calling pediatric practices all morning to set up interviews! I actually asked her (and I wish I had recorded this call!) "Don't you care about being nice to people?" Valerie replied, "No, I'm not the owner of the practice." I could not make this up! I said,"Don't they care?" Valerie, "They have a really big practice. Not really." And then she hung up! So, I did not actually get to see any of the doctors, but you get the gist! I can't imagine they are any better if they have people like this working for them! read more

I'm two-years into my love affair with DeKalb Pediatrics and yesterday's visit to see Dr. Marcus prompted me to get out the ol' Yelp pen. Clean exam room? You bet. On time appointments? Always. A separate sick-room? Of course. Fruity-ness? Never. A caring doctor who examines the patient, and also talks to this mamma about what's next on the horizon development-wise, etc? Yes. Thank you Dr. Marcus for being empathetic and also no-nonsense. Your advice gave the courage to do what had to be done, and I appreciate it. Dr. Marcus also went through a brief description of each shot that was about to be injected into my Chunker's leg, explaining why for example, it's better to get vaccinated for Measles than to be deaf and blind. A doctor who acknowledges parental fears, and then uses science to get parents to play ball--Hell yes! read more

The doctors are OK- each one nicer than the last-- THAT was the problem. I think they were all residents. because they were all young (maybe 32?) In the year we went here, we NEVER had the same doctor, even though we were referred to Dr. Loventhal. ZERO continuity, these were not drop-in visits, but appointments with the dr. we were referred to at this practice. But the staff was worse: We had had our out-of-state records sent here. They were at Winn Way for maybe 2 months when we found another pediatrician. I couldn't believe they charged me $15 for my own records that I'd given them! Then when I came to collect them, the nurse that handed them to me didn't even give eye contact. They showed their true colors. Go elsewhere- even if it's further away. You'll be happy you did. I have been going to this practice with my 3 children for over 10 years now. I have seen every doctor at this practice. I would trust all of them to give my children the best care possible. My children have had some difficult health issues over the years and they have always been very concerned and extremely helpful. They even detected a potentially serious problem with one of my children, that was missed by the NICU doctors! With their new online Portal, I have been able to make same day appointments easily, and the wait time is usually very short. We love DeKalb Pediatrics! Dr. Kolesky is AMAZING- great for all my first-time-Mom questions. We trust & respect her, and appreciate her wisdom when caring for our children. She is truly excellent! Loved this practice! We've moved but wish we could still see Dr G-K. He saw our daughter from 1 week check up to her 1 year check up. He's been nothing short of fantastic as have the nurses. I really like that they have kid friendly waiting rooms that are divided into well and sick sides with a serious divider. From check in to check out I've never had any issues, whether sick or well. I've never been made to feel stupid for asking questions. I hold this practice in high regard! read more

I"ve been a client with This Pratice a long time. 10 Years to be exact and they have grown significantly to the point where they do not have any type of relationships with there patients and all your is to them is a number..... After ten years of being a client i feel my time with them is up.... They are very good docs in the practice dont get me wrong but it is far from that now with all the new un welcoming faces. This is a practice for very tiny babys once your kid gets older they tend to be harder to deal with. I have a ten year old daughter and a 3 year old son and i have had to take my 3 year old to another doctor after i left there practice.....TWice to get "RESULTS From COughing problems my son had and they act like there wasnt a problem... This practice has been a mixed bag for me. It's a big practice, and I (personally) prefer sole practitioners for my family. However, we've been with them since my oldest was born almost seven years ago, and at times the good has outweighed the bad. The thing that kept me coming back was Dr. Deborah Pollack, who I really like. We schedule all of our well visits in advance and I have always requested Dr. Pollack, which was my way of circumventing the fact that it's a big practice with many doctors. Pollack is very kind and I never felt rushed. She took the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly. She was very understanding of my breastfed babies' slow weight gain, which I appreciate because that's something that some pediatricians freak out about. A couple of times there were issues that came up in well visits that we were able to take a "wait and see" approach, which I was really comfortable with and in every instance turned out to be good for my kids. I have less experience with the other doctors in the practice. I have seen a couple in sick visits or when Dr. Pollack was unexpectedly out. I have spoken to a few on the phone. Luckily, my kids aren't sick very often. Anyway, there were a few other doctors in the practice that I really liked and at least two that I didn't care for at all. I don't doubt that all the doctors in the practice are capable physicians. However, I really longed for that continuity of care you get from a smaller practice. I also didn't appreciate the recent (in the past few years) charge of $15 for after hours calls. I really don't see the point of that except as a moneymaker for the practice. I don't think it's a good idea to institute charges that might dissuade a new or unconfident parent from asking a "just in case" question. The nail in the coffin for me was when I attempted to schedule my daughter's 2 year appointment last year. They have a pretty narrow window in which you can schedule--I believe at her previous well visit (18 months?) it was too soon to schedule her 24 month visit. I usually call 6-8 weeks before the well visit to make sure we can see Dr. Pollack. Last time I attempted this, I was told that Pollack had no availability for WEEKS on either side of my daughter's appointment. The scheduler wouldn't even tell me when she did have availability--she told me I had no choice but to schedule with another doctor in the practice (scheduler's choice, not mine). This didn't work for me. It was another roadblock that has made the entire experience less personal. On that note, we left DeKalb Pediatrics and found a sole practitioner who has taken the time to get to know our family. Even though our new practitioner is no longer in Decatur and is therefore a drive, for me it's worth it. read more

I've been super happy with the doctors at this practice. Making an appointment is a breeze, and I have yet to wait long for even sick appointments. They really go out of their way to get you in fast. I have to doc one star for the new check in system they implemented about a year ago. I don't really like it. While I love the convenience of technology, I also like to have old fashioned face to face conversations with people, whether it's the cashier at the grocery store or the receptionist at the doctors office. I have been a very satisfied patient of this practice for about a year now. Of all the reasons for my 5-star rating, I think that the quality of care piece is the most important, so I'll focus on that. As a new mom, I had a number of unanticipated (aren't they all?!) struggles. Not only did Dr. Marcus provide excellent, professional, clear guidance and advice, she also related to me as a mom, and continues to be a person whose personal and professional insights I value greatly. I truly look forward to our appointments with her, as it feels like I'm spending time with a friend (who just happens to be a physician) with countless tips for baby's health and mom's sanity up her white coat's sleeves. No matter how minor or major my concerns have been this year, I have always felt like the person on the phone (receptionists, nurses, and doctors alike) have taken me seriously, been compassionate, caring, and knowledgeable in their responses, and given me solid advice about when to come in versus when to just ride something out at home. From what I hear of friends' experiences elsewhere, this is no small thing! Getting a kid through year 1 of life is a wild ride, and I am forever grateful to this practice (especially Dr. Marcus) for helping us to survive and thrive. Other features of Dekalb Pediatrics that make me feel like we'll never leave: *Of all the doctors' offices I've been to in Atlanta, this one easily wins the prize for shortest wait times. Almost a bummer, cuz the waiting room seems like it would be fun. But really, I'm ok with that. *The nurses have a way of making me feel like my kid is the cutest one they've ever seen. Makes the whole doctor visit more pleasant when your kid gets treated like a star (and I'm sure I'm not the only one!). *It's important to me to be able to talk to my daughter about what's happening (measurements, exam, shots, etc.), and give her time to process what's going on. I always feel like the staff respects my approach (rather than insisting I just hold her still, distract her, rush through procedures, etc.). *All of the administrative processes (scheduling, check-in, billing) are streamlined and efficient. This makes a huge difference when you're trying to manage a newborn, a fussy baby, a curious toddler, or kids in any and all other stages of development. read more

Yes, it can sometimes be difficult to schedule a well child appointment - just like every other quality doctor's office in the country. My kids have been patients of Dekalb Pediatric Center for nearly 13 years after a friend recommended Dr. Jane Wilcov to me. I have always been satisfied with the quality of care and communication over the years. I wasn't bothered by the fact that my kids saw different doctors during their well-care and sick visits as they did not have significant medical issues which may have made continuity of care more important to me. However, that all changed in April when I made an after hour call Saturday afternoon regarding my 17 yr old son who was suffering from what appeared to be a GI infection. Dr. Wilcov was the doctor on call and she submitted the order for lab work so she could properly diagnosis what was happening since he might have needed antibiotics to treat the infection. However, I discovered labs don't do these tests over the weekend and more importantly, my son was getting much sicker. So early the next morning I made another after hour call and was so relieved when Dr. Wilcov called me back. She said based on my son's condition, she recommended that I take him to the ER at Children's Hospital as she was becoming concerned about dehydration. We spent 12 hours in the ER waiting for the results of one test after another and much to my shock, late Sunday night my son was admitted to the hospital for what the doctors believed was a chronic disease which although treatable would be life altering. I could not believe what was happening in large part because I had not been given clear explanations of how the ER doctors reached their preliminary diagnosis. After lying awake all night in my son's hospital room, by Monday morning, I was in full-blown panic mode. At 9:15 Monday am I received an unprompted call from Dr. Wilcov as she had access to my son's hospital records and was monitoring what was happening. She answered my questions and explained to me all the medical reasons why my son's diagnosis seemed accurate and that he was in the best possible place to get the definitive diagnosis and treatment plan initiated. She spoke to me as a mom reassuring me that I didn't miss anything in not realizing my son had a chronic condition earlier and that even if I had taken him to the doctor earlier, it would not have altered the course of events. Interestingly, I don't recall seeing Dr. Wilcov more than a couple of times with my kids during all these years but she seemed to clearly remember my son and which was increidibly helpful. Bottom line, she went out of her way to care for her patient and the patient's mom and even if she doesn't see your child at every appointment she seemed to have kept up with my son over the years. I left because the doctors would push their hair back, touch babies and children, push hair back again, and repeat. Doing this with every patient, hair becomes a vector for who knows what. Also instead of hand washing, a literal slight of hand motion on the hand sanitizer followed by some rubbing ... if I can't smell hand sanitizer you're not using it. Doctors discovered centuries ago that keeping hands clean reduced transmission of diseases, and these women seem not to have gotten this information. Also they missed diagnosis and were very perfunctory in their exams. Doctors here seem more interested in their part time status and how little they can actually do for patients and parents. read more

I have taken my son here since his first newborn visit and he is now 15months. Our first visit seemed decent enough, but gradually got worse. There was an appointment were Dr. Loventhal tried to argue with me about a milestone my son had made already. I'm not a crazy proud mom or anything, but I pressed her on the issue saying, "No, he really is sitting by himself". She wouldn't believe me. Then my son had his first fever of over 103 at 6months old, naturally it being my first child, I was worried enough to call the Doctor on call. Unfortunately, bad luck had it that the doc on call was DR. LOVENTHAL. She made me feel so guilty for calling her in the middle of the night just because my son had a fever, all she said was to bring him in in the morning! I was so livid, and scared/worried for my son that I stupidly took him to the ER instead, which cost me $600 for them to give him some Children's Motrin and send us home. I should have left the practice, but decided to just request a different doctor from now on. Though there are other doctors who are not so rude, they also all seem to have differing opinions about things. One doc said my kid had ringworm, and another said it was eczema, but then hurried out of the room to only give it a 2second look over. I was so irritated. He has his 15month check up around the corner and I am dreading it. We are moving to another state soon so I am using that as my excuse to switch all medical records over. The only pleasant thing about that office are a "few" of the nurses and the back desk when you check out. You can also get appointments very easily, but they will fit you in. They sometimes jam pack the schedule so much that the docs will literally spend 5minutes with you and then it gets uncomfortable if you keep asking questions. For this being my first experience with a peds office I am so disappointed and hope they are not all like this. read more

I decided to update my review about Dekalb Pediatrics since I have not been very happy with them over the last year. It seems that their practice has grown a lot, which is fine. However, I think they overbook themselves. While I was always able to get my daughter in for a same-day appointment if she was sick (which was impressive to me when we first started going here, but this has become pretty mainstream with most pediatricians), the waiting time was ridiculous. It became more and more common for us to wait in the waiting room for about half an hour and then once we were taken back to an exam room we could easily wait another 20-30 minutes. There were several visits where I checked my phone in the exam room before the doctor came in and realized that I had arrived at the office almost an hour before. I understand that same-day sick appointments are worked in last minute and this can cause scheduling difficulties, but this happened with well baby visits that had been scheduled months ahead of time as well. By the time any doctor came to see us it was obvious that they were trying to get through your visit and on to the next patient. I also didn't like the fact that about half the time my daughter came in to get vaccinations, there would be one or two that they were out of. This meant I either had to come back in a few days or could wait until her next round of vaccinations, depending on which vaccination it was and the importance of it. Once my daughter started attending day care all of her vaccinations had to be current, so this issue became a real pain because if they were out of the vaccination she was due for, I had to go back ASAP to avoid reminders from her preschool that her vaccinations weren't current. It felt like I was always making a trip for a single shot. Another change I wasn't very happy about was their check in kiosks that they installed in the waiting rooms. Instead of checking in at the front desk they want you to check in on a computer in the waiting room. Call me old fashioned, but it was a big turn off that they couldn't even greet their patients in person when they came in. I get that businesses strive for efficiency, but good customer service goes a long way. Anyway, after you checked in on the computer they called you up to the front desk to verify your insurance information. It felt like they weren't even interested in talking to you until they could make sure you could pay for your visit. While the nurses and doctors were nice, the receptionists could be really rude sometimes and I just didn't like the changes they were making. I put up with it for a while because I was happy with the care my daughter received there but eventually it wasn't worth the wait time and declining people skills. I felt like they were more focused on their bottom line instead of providing quality healthcare for children in a pleasant environment. I switched to Intown Pediatrics and am very happy with my decision to leave Dekalb Peds. read more

Disappointed and frustrated with pediatric visit starting from waiting room where a couple were discussing private matters and cussing loud enough for me to hear. When selecting our children's pediatric practice, I didn't visit multiple pediatricians, I read reviews and researched our office and thought it would be suitable and convenient. But I find that it is too "big" for its "small" and lack there of service. They do a great job of assessing for developmental delays and ruling out autism, which I find to be excessive/hyperviligent. To me it's a problem when a common fungal skin rash can not be appropriately diagnosed and treated, but I'm being questioned about how many words my just turned 2 year old says in a row. I leave feeling "icky" and it's not right. As a new mom I have to reassure myself that my children are developing normally and each child is different. If you're a parent maybe you understand how I feel. My experience with this practice, reinforces the importance of building trust and a supportive relationship with your patients/patients' family. So it's time for a change. Dekalb pediatrics is overrated, not all their physicians- but enough of them are cold, judgmental, and lack cultural sensitivity. read more

Wow! I was googling Dekalb Pediatric to send an email on their portal and stumbled on this Yelp site. I was so surprised to see these negative reviews. Being a new parent is one the hardest things that you will go through. I went through it and I know that Dr. Wilkov still chuckles about how "green" I was with my first child. I now have three children and my oldest is 20 years old. I have been through several broken bones, ER visits, ear tubes, tonsillectomies, learning issues, concussions, and ADD advisement. I have had a few intense health situations and I have always felt like they were part of my team. A pediatric practice is much like an OB GYN office. Every day is different. At any give moment they can have a patient in crisis or one who needs more time than scheduled. I rarely wait, but if I do, I know that it is most likely due to a patient that needed more time. If you live in Decatur and have school age children, you want to be at Dekalb Pediatric. Most of the physicians are parents and they all have amazing advise regarding schools, growth and development, referrals for specialists, etc. Their check ups follow the most current guidelines and their keen eye for delays and may seem extreme for new parents but research shows that the sooner you evaluate and treat, the better the outcome. Worst case scenario, you go for a little extra testing or assessment only to find that it was a false alarm. I work in City Schools of Decatur and most of our parents send their children to this wonderful practice. I don't see my happy parents on this website:) read more

Dekalb Peds is fantastic. Our routine checkups are easy, run on time, and the doctors and nurses are always upbeat and pleasant. We see Dr. Marcus for our well-checks and she's great!--always available to answer questions, address our concerns, and talk through anything we want. When our daughter is ill, we've had no problem getting same-day appointments and we've now seen the majority of the doctors over our 3 years with the practice--don't have a complaint about any of them! We've twice had to call the "on call" doctor over nights or weekends and found that they were helpful in calming our fears and helping our daughter feel better, even through the phone. Though our daughter had a series of ear infections, the doctors at Dekalb Peds were not quick to prescribe tubes but, rather, worked with us on our comfort level and discussed all options thoroughly with us. Dr. Loventhal is also outstanding. The online portal makes it easy to request forms, schedule appointments, etc so things run smoothly when your in the office and you don't have to take time filling out paperwork. My daughter has been a patient of this practice since she was born. I am very dissatisfied and disappointed in the care my child recently received. Dr. Marcus rushes through the exam like you and your child are unimportant. The bathrooms were filthy with no toilet paper. This practice seems rundown, the providers seem uncaring and lack compassion. It is time to find a new pediatrician. Thank goodness my child has been relatively healthy until now. I actually went to a local doc in a box which gave better treatment and helped my child get well. With all the providers that are in Decatur, a mother can do better than this one. read more

Once again, I am taking my daughter to her new pediatrician because Dekalb Pediatrics didn't give her vaccinations at correct intervals. This problem was just discovered by the school nurse for her new Kindergarten. We stopped going to Dekalb Pediatrics two years ago. We had several problems including a very, very rude checkout administrator. At least two of our daughter's vaccinations were not given at correct intervals. We also had an occasion of sitting in the exam room for over an hour and a half--we were told we were overlooked. There were too many "overlooks," and we're still discovering them. The doctors are nice, but it doesn't make up for the other problems. I advise you to monitor your child's vaccinations carefully if you decide to use this practice. read more

Would give 5 stars, if not for Dr. Loventhal. She brings the whole place down with her bedside manner and attitude. I've seen her three times because I believe in giving second chances and trying to see the best in people. She has not disproven that she should not be a pediatrician. If you go to this practice. Don't see her. It makes me sad to know that some people become doctors without a passion to be one. read more

Dr. Pollock is absolutely wonderful.She is great with the kids and parents. I feel extremely comfortable with anything she suggests does etc...I was reading some of the comments about Dr. Marcus and I do not share the same opinion. I feel as if Dr. Marcus is rushing through appointments and doesn't listen to me as a parent. I had a concern about a rash my child had when i first saw Dr. Marcus, she cut me off and dismissed it as a fungal rash because my child was rather plump at 6-8 months, nothing she gave us for a rash worked. (duh! bc it wasn't a rash).It looked like eczema to me and I have had my experience with eczema...but I'm not a dr When I inquired about allergy testing she immediately said that my daughter was too young. You know that feeling you get as a parent when something is not right... A few months later my daughter was rushed to the hospital for anaphylaxis (surprise surprise)..food allergies. I'm grateful that we were able to get her to the hospital but in my heart i felt "yeast infection" wasn't right. Honest mistake I'm sure..but a few visits later i have to see Dr. Marcus, again, she rushed through the appt..my daughter was having trouble breathing, she did a breathing treatment and sent us on our way..that nagging feeling in the pit of my stomach, I left her office and took her straight to the ER, she was pretty bad off and the Dr's asked how long she had been that bad and I explained to them we literally just left the Dr's office, they told me it was a good thing I brought her in when I did..that hurts..I've asked not to see Dr. Marcus due to concerns about her judgment but if its a last minute appt beggars can't be choosers, I understand that. I don't know if Dr. Marcus just pales in comparison to the rest of the staff or the fact that she won't get a second chance with me regarding my child's healthcare and I'm conflicted when i see her..with the exception of Dr. Marcus everyone else seems competent happy to be there and able to handle the workload. The rooms are clean, the nurses, front desk, checkout people have great attitudes. This is just my personal experience and may not be true for the next person, overall I would recommend the practice but encourage every parent to listen to their gut but definitely form their own opinion. read more

We've been happy with this practice for 10 years now -- we like some doctors better than others but have never had a poor experience. It is a busy practice close to Dekalb Medical -- I do think that folks expecting a "boutique" experience (or more hand holding) will not get that with this practice -- but one of the advantages of having multiple doctors on staff is that you can easily get a second or third opinion when your kiddo may or may not need a stitch (we had this exact experience). They are very rarely behind schedule and work in same day sick appointments seamlessly. Dr's Pollock, Kolesky, Marcus and Godfey-Kittle (the only male) are our our favorites for yearly physicals. They are not fans of spreading out vaccines if that is your preference but they will do it if you ask. All of the doctor's have kids themselves and we have found them to be very down-to-earth with their advice. read more

I had to write this review about Dekalb Pediatric Center. I was referred to this office by my insurance company. I had a sick child and needed to take her to the doctor. My child's old doctor would not make an appointment since I misplaced my insurance card and refused to call to verify insurance (mind you they had a copy of her card on file from previous visits). My insurance company called Dekalb Pediatric Center and they not only took my daughter as a patient but gave us a same day appointment. I was so surprised when we arrived. First, they called us back at our scheduled time. We only waiting 5 minutes in the waiting room because we were early. Second, they were able to fill out the medical forms online. I did not have to sit in the waiting room and fill out the forms with pen and paper. Third, they pulled up her shot records in seconds by going directly to the State of Georgia's website. Fourth, the nurse was very nice and friendly. Fifth, the doctor, Dr. Ashley Bufe, welcomed us to her group and was extremely friendly. She sat and talked to me and my child and was very patient. She gave us her full attention and did not make me feel like she was in a rush to see another patient. I absolutely love this practice. The office is clean and the staff is very friendly. I am so grateful we found this practice and I would recommend them to everyone. read more
