My name is Lisa Stiefel, I am one of the high school principals here at ISOK. I've been trying to reach you about some communications with a few of our teachers and we need to discuss this. One of the conditions of being enrolled in a virtual school is having good contact information and being able to communicate with our students and families. I have called and emailed and I have been unable to leave a message and I have gotten no responses to my emails. I must have a response by noon today or we will have to initiate a welfare check on your student. Thank you.

If i could give this school zero stars, i would. OVCA recommended this school because my daughter…read morehas a medical condition that sometimes has her feeling sick all day. It's cyclical nausea disease and so to keep her from getting in trouble for missing classes with OVCA i said sure, well they sent her info over to Insight School of Oklahoma at the beginning of September, and they did not call me or reach out to me, i had to reach out to them after it had been two weeks since i had heard anything from anyone. They then took another month and a half to communicate with me where to go, how to create accounts for this school, and the whole time i am was emailing and messaging the principal and the assistant principal and they were SO SLOW to respond to anything. My daughter started her freshman year of high school 3 months late because of them. And so now we've moved to Norman and gotten my daughter on medication to help her condition and she says she's ready to go back to in person school. I enrolled my daughter online 2 weeks ago and we are STILL WAITING on Insight School of Jokelahoma to respond to Norman High School to transfer her over. We can't get through to a human when we call the number and Norman High School has reached out to them multiple times to get her transcript and has gotten NOTHING in response from them. Both my husband and myself have emailed and reached out to the principals and called their stupid 800 number several times, but we are still waiting for them to do anything. They have effectively ruined the first half of my daughter's freshman year of high school and they don't seem to give one flying shit. DO NOT ENROLL YOUR CHILDREN IN THIS SCHOOL, IT IS NOT A BETTER OPTION, IT WILL TAKE FOREVER, AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH ANYONE IF YOU NEED HELP. THIS IS YOUR WARNING.

Every school we toured each had their own pros and cons but no high school had that good "warm at home" feeling that you left wanting more as this place did for me. Principal David Morton greets anyone and everyone who walks through his building with open arms. The structure and administration of this community truly care about the benefit of their students. While I attended here several years ago, I remember taking a required financial class while at the time I thought was nuts, it really does expose you to many different situations that you will be needing to learn at some point or another. The exposure every student gets here is amazing. Another important note is that while I attended here I was not catholic. Not once did I feel pressured to become catholic or judged/viewed any differently for being another religion. Mass is required every Friday once a month here. To me, everything was a learning experience and even though I wasn't catholic I felt religion class helped me learn more about my faith and other religions. Back on academics, just google this school and their scores - it's nothing but successful. I can't wait to send my son here proudly someday and appreciate knowing the fact that he is getting a wonderful education that will help prep him for college and for life long experiences.

My eldest son is going into his 4th year at HFAA, with my youngest coming as a Freshman this year…read more Through that time I have become very involved in the PTO, and am current president. I can't explain how much I love this school. My eldest had dealt with bullying at all his previous schools, because he's nerdy and awkward and sensitive. He'd been the "problem kid" to the teachers because he got bored easily from lack of a challenging curriculum and disrupted the class. He was angry and sullen most of the time. Junior high was the worst because he finally realized what I'd always known, that he was gay, and with the support of his family and few friends, he came out. He didn't expect the backlash. My son hated school and had the beginnings of social anxiety when he came to Harding. Being interested in art, he hoped it would be a better fit. The term Fine Arts Academy is somewhat of a misnomer in my opinion. Yes, they teach many arts classes, but it is not a school only for teaching art. It is a school that uses art to teach, all subjects. They encourage creativity in all things from approach to execution of any subject or project. They have a rigorous curriculum, but give kids all the tools they need to achieve their best, including access to tutoring, teachers that give one on one instruction if needed, and online resources. The teachers are some of the best I've seen. They really care about their students. The class sizes are smaller, so teachers have that ability to give individual attention. They have unique classes and clubs as well, such as photography, graphic design, martial arts, modern dance, Spectrum LGBTQ+ support, and the BSA (Black Student Association). There is so much diversity and support for that diversity, that bullying is almost NIL and if it happens, it is shut down immediately by staff and students alike. Kids feel free to be themselves here. This place has more school wide activities than others I've seen as well. Random parties, dances, festivals, group trips, and other activities. They really encourage students to step outside clique's and typical social separation to build a community and sense of family. My son has blossomed since coming here, making straight A's since sophomore year, joining NHS last year, and has activities and friends he loves. Being a PTO mom, I hear similar stories from other parents. I bring my youngest here with similar problems in his past, but an open heart to his future here. I cant wait to see what he can achieve here. I definitely recommend this school.
