My sister-in-law attended high school here, as have scads of my friends and colleagues. I'm not a religious man, but am a huge fan of the liberal arts education offered at Mt. St. Mary's. The student body is diverse, as well, and that's a huge bonus in a world filled with pig ignorant tribalism and sheer bigotry. The old school nuns who once ran the attached convent and the school itself are, I'm sure, almost entirely gone. (Is the Oklahoma City archdiocese now in control of things? My advice is, do not send your children here. The administration is full of people that do not care about your child's success, only about covering their own behinds, and will lie to do so. A select group of teachers routinely fail students, pick favorites, and grade unfairly. Some administrators have an elitest way of looking down on people that don't donate huge sums of money to the school. Rude and superficial. Everything is about how it "looks" and not how it actually is. Many of the students actively use drugs and somehow don't get caught. Students get away with violating dress code with skirts so short you can see everything you shouldn't. Cheating routinely takes place among students and academic dishonesty can be bought off too. Bullying is severe for some students and the school does nothing to stop it. Athletes receive special treatment and grades they did not earn. Administration says summer course work is accredited, charges $600 for a course but later does not allow credit toward graduation to be received for it. Personally looking forward to getting my children away from this place, not only for them, but for my own peace. I cannot wait to get us all as far away as possible from these snobs. More than $15,000 tuition per student per year, and only slightly less cost for "participating" Catholics. Other religions' members can attend but they pay more. Not sure if that is an excuse to charge more or if it is the cost of tolerance, but discrimination is wrong! They do not care. read more

Small Catholic high school in Oklahoma City. It is great looking building on the outside, and a great education awaits within. A lot has changed in the 30 years since I last attended, but the important things stay the same. The education here gets a child ready for a liberal arts type education. The school also boasts the oldest working elevator in Oklahoma, although I don't think it is operated by an old nun anymore. read more
