Castle Clean & Seal - Paver sealing project in Deland, FL.

Castle Clean & Seal come and gave me an estimate for the job. They explained everything and were patient answering all my questions. It was done within a week! Chance and Tyler completed the job. They were on time and very thorough. It was money well spent!!

My wife and I came into possession of our current house last year. The house already had pavers…read morealong the left side of the house and within the pool enclosure. The pavers were impeccable. Recognizing that we had not had to deal with pavers in our previous property, we wanted to be proactive and protect the pavers as best we could. We chose Castle Clean and Seal. They provided their services at a reasonable cost. However, by December, things started to change. We started noticing considerable vegetation coming out between the pavers, more specifically within the pool enclosure and even so more towards the area that I would presume to have been the least easy to seal. I contacted them and they came out. They confirmed that the pavers did show that some were not properly sealed. They explained to me that they do not guarantee that vegetation will not grow. Ironically, their main ad features a person torching weeds growing on their pavers as if implying that you'll not have to deal with these issues if you use their services. I explained that, while I may understand that they cannot guarantee that no vegetation will grow, what they should guarantee is that they will not be creating problems that were not there to start with. They came back and allegedly resealed that section. They had even mentioned that they would remove a rust stain on the pavers and they did not do it in the end. A few months went by and vegetation was growing now even faster and in more areas. A thin water streak from a simple spray bottle would carve out all the sand that had allegedly been put to seal the pavers. This showed me that they did not do what they were supposed to to begin with. I contacted them and they provided a lengthy response that definitely looked like a pre-made AI-generated template. I bet they had to use it more than once by now. Ironically, they reached out to find out if I was satisfied with their services. I said no, explained the reasons why, and they did not even attempt to reach out. One thing they did mention when they came to reassess the pavers was that there are limitations on their ability to seal pavers that are very close to each other. I'll come back to this point in a few. Since the pavers were by now attempting to become a jungle, I contacted various other companies knowing very well that I had lost all the investment I had already made. After various phone conversations, another company, Volusia Paver Sealing, came and confirmed that the pavers were very poorly sealed, that the sand was mostly loose, and that the vegetation growth was due to the fact that the pavers had allowed water to seep through. The deficiencies they found were so obvious to them at first sight that they had confirmed my fear: that I had been taken advantage of. They also let me know that the statement that the pavers were so close to each other that they could not seal them properly was only an excuse. They explained, which makes absolute sense, that the right thing to have done was to use a finer grain if needed for those areas. They also said that when I initially reported the vegetation growth, they should've removed the pavers where the vegetation was coming out from and treat their foundation properly to ensure that these saplings were completely exterminated. At our expense, we ended up having to reinvest in paver services for damages made by a company we thought we could trust. Their job was not properly done, the pavers were not properly sealed, the choice of sand was not the best suited, they did not deliver in the rust removal they promised to take care of, and then they ghosted and went radio silent once I provided them with the feedback they had asked for. This is poor business etiquette and an absolute lack of accountability and professionalism. I would not be shocked if they rebut this review with another AI-generated template but I have a right and a duty to be honest. Recognizing areas in need of improvement and providing resolution to a job not properly done is the right showmanship of customer service.
