Good spot! Food at the concessions is kinda overpriced but pretty and clean amenities.

I have never had a better time losing money!…read more This spot is legit old school. Upon walking in for derby day ladies were given a rose and seated in front of a ton of screens where one can check out races from all over. Being from the Bay I get super excited about seeing races at Golden Gate Fields where my dad would take me as a kid. Food took awhile but it was pretty good. They have surprisingly huge salads that made me wish I had ordered one! Being exceedingly annoying AND a veggie I was happy when our waitress was able to wrangle up a veggie burger for me! I ended up eating way too much. Drinks are basic but why are you ordering that piña collada with muddled chocolate mint at such a place anyway? Save that habit for people like me... Unknown amongst the younger set I can see this spot being a fun place to do up the races in a style that is as authentic as it is interesting. Just think twice before inviting Camilla the Yelping Hen, she is not so great at losing. I forgot to mention the super cool Yelp Booth and thank Trish. It was something I would not have done without Yelp and I am thankful for the chance!

It was crazy busy when we arrived and the lines of cars to get into the parking lot were long. So we parked a block away in the residential area and walked in. It cost $3 to enter. But, all the proceeds went to the Seal Beach Animal Shelter. We quickly purchased our tickets, but it was insane to see that multiple lines of people were then forced to use one single person escalator to get inside. By the time we got inside, floor level standing room only was available. We were happy to find some chairs and took a seat. To get the crowd going, Weinersnitzel t-shirts, stuffed animals, and hats were thrown into the crowd. The weiner races alternated with horse races. The dogs were beyond adorable and it was fun to watch even though it was tough to see at times. I didn't stay for all 15 heats which ended at 9:30 pm. The lines for food and alcohol were super long. Next time, I'll prepare better. I would bring food, drinks, and chairs for ground level seating. Wear a hat and bring sunscreen. A sign posted said no food or drinks. There was no one checking and I walked in with my Yeti without being stopped. Overall, I found the event to be adorable. However, the. Venue itself was a bit outdated with no organization.

As you enter you can purchase a program. You can purchase snack foods and drinks inside. Free parking is a plus. I especially love that it's family friendly. I also really enjoy the Paddock -- the area where racehorses are brought out and walked around before the race. This is usually the best place to see the horses up close and watch them get ready. You can do this on the first floor toward the far left.

The prices are reasonable but very impressed with my breakfast. The breakfast sausage patties are a must! I like how you can choose your potatoes for all the entrees in musing breakfast. Service was great and the nice to be able watch various sporting activities. If you like horse racing it's an even better place to hang out. Kind of musty and smelly. After placing our order the server returned and said they did not have ahi for my salad and could replace it with poke. She, however, could not explain what poke was. I opted for the hot honey wings. They weren't hot just smothered in honey and super crispy. Once we asked for the check, the original ahi salad was still on the bill. Honest mistake. I have been to this restaurant before, years ago, and the food and service was much better. Unfortunately I probably will not be returning.
