I want to share my experience for anyone who has the option to avoid this business moving forward…read more I cannot say the issue is with the local store, but can say that the company is not well organized and my experience shows that they take their customers for granted. I ordered an item for rent from the corporate web site. The resulting email confirmation indicated "A store associate will call you when your rental is ready to be picked up. Please allow 48 hours for processing." When two weeks passed and no call came, I called the toll-free number in the email and was told the item would ship very soon and I could expect a call shortly. After two more weeks, I called again and customer service told me to call the store directly as they should have the item in stock. What?! I have in writing that I should wait for a call, then am told the item is there all along? In the meantime, my daughter's music lessons are over and she had no instrument the entire time. The customer service rep informed me that I should have called the store first. Really? You have a corporate web site. You have an email that gets generated with instructions on how to proceed. Now it's the customer's duty to know your processes, as well as the fact that you provide inaccurate documentation? I call the store and sure enough, I am told they have the item in stock. I explained what happened and was offered an apology. I find apologies without action are meaningless, so asked what he intended to do to make this better for the future. He suggested I speak to a manager at the store. I told him the issue was with the (likely) boilerplate instructions in the email from the corporate web site. He suggested I call them. I explained that I do not work for them, so why should I waste more of my time correcting their issue. They should identify the problem, work to resolve it, and thank me for being so gracious. Unfortunately, that is not how things transpired, which has led me to tell you my story.

I was looking for a great piano teacher for a while before I found Ikegami Music Studio. What a…read moregreat surprise and huge difference - in everything, compared to my kids' previous piano teacher. I have 3 sons (age 7, 10 and 13) and I am driving them 45 minutes each way to that studio, for several reasons. One - Akira is a great teacher who has made piano fun for my kids. He's very professional, patient and can make any class 'easy' to understand. He really knows how to talk with kids and can explain things to them in many ways - like why practicing at home is so important! Two - the program that he prepares really works. My sons are playing songs that they enjoy. They are moving forward, learning new techniques, and preparing for their annual recitals without bigger haste. Three - we enjoy hearing them play! I feel very lucky to have found such an awesome teacher. I could not wish for a better one!

I went to Taylor's Music Store intent on purchasing a vintage Martin D-28. I asked Len…read more(President/Owner) for some help looking the guitar over. I am still a beginner in the guitar game, but I am very particular to the "sound" that a guitar makes. I like the sound of a guitar with rich base tones, which was why I was checking out the Martin. For whatever reason, I just wasn't hearing the sound that I was expecting. Given his experience, Len understood what I was looking for, and showed me a brand-new Yamaha TransAcoustic TA3 Grade all solid wood guitar. Talk about a complete 180 from the vintage Martin, but as soon as Len started playing on the Yamaha, game over, I was sold! The guitar has an internal speaker that sounds amazing and features a built-in loop option. Not only that, but the guitar sounds amazing with the electronics turned off! The new Yamaha was a couple of hundred dollars less than the vintage Martin and came with a lifetime warranty! No brainer! After purchasing my new Yamaha, and per Len's advice, I returned to have the guitar tech at Taylor's adjust the action to better suit me, free of charge!
