As a board member of the rescue mentioned in Francesca G review and a very active part of said…read morerescue, I feel the need to correct some misinformation left in that review. Dr. Mann and his team have always gone above and beyond for every single dog and cat we have brought to them in the 3 years of our rescue partnership (well over 100 animals). Whether it was a simple visit for vaccines or a middle of the night emergency, they have always been professional and polite. We can always trust Dr Mann to "give it to us straight" without sugar coating that animals condition. His staff has cried with us as we have made the hard decisions of letting a dog go to the rainbow bridge. They have taken their personal time to escort medical fosters to events and to just get them out of the office for awhile. They have celebrated healing and adoptions. Their staff has even adopted from our rescue. I wouldnt trust any other vet in the area with my personal pets. I am in this office multiple times a week and interact with all of the staff. Francesca's review is not based on truth in any way and we are embarrassed that her and her mother have gone out of their way to damage the reputation of such amazing people.

In the review of Shaunna K. about me and my daughter is just pure slander. We volunteered with…read morerescue mentioned for almost a decade. My daughter wrote an accurate review from her perspective and the poor treatment we were given for just asking a question and taking our time to visit two dogs, one which we fostered for 10 days. We went back to visit her and another dog which we had visited a few times to get them out and just love on them. The fact that Dr. Mann and some office members were beyond rude is accurate. Read the other reviews of the treatment he shows other people. Whether a patron or client, it matters for customer service. Shaunna K. demanded my daughter take the review down. Who are you to dictateay that? You treat your fosters horribly and talk about them but still use us because no one else is available! Everything we did for rescue and our time at Springfield Vet, we were nothing but kind and giving of our time. Dr. Mann needs to accept that if he is rude to patrons/clients, they have the right to express their negative experience!

Why are dog sitters so darn hard to come by?? Here is what you need to know about Lisa D's…read moreDog walking/pet sitting company. This is a GREAT atmosphere to entrust the care of your beloved hound if you want your dog to be part of a lovely pack. Lisa D has three peace-loving medium sized mutts of her own already. They are SO used to new dogs, an introduction of a new dog never bothers them. Your dog will NOT get a hundred percent one-on-one attention because at Lisa's, your dog is just a part of a happy pack of dogs. I hope I won't sound like a dog whisperer or anything when I say, your dog would prefer this. The owner, Lisa, works for a daycare center. She's got lots of first aid qualifications (CPR, Ski Instructor, etc.) Lisa lives with her mom. When Lisa is at work, Lisa's mom is tending to your dogs. (Which mainly involves snuggling and giving treats) That means, in this situation, your dog will NEVER be left alone. He or she will always be surrounded by dogs under the loving care of AT LEAST one human. At Lisa D's, if you dog enjoys sleeping with a human, that is NO PROBLEMA! Your dog is welcome on all the furniture and whatever sleeping arrangement serves your pup best is what will be provided. Also, if you are on facebook or have text messaging capabilities, Lisa D. send you fun pix of your dog DAILY to show you that Rover is having a BLAST. Lisa D. has a big backyard and oftentimes when I go to pick up my dog, I have to wait a few minutes because she is out there playing with all the dogs, including mine. To sum it up: If you want your dog to be the one and only, find another situation. If you want your dog to have a vacation that involves being part of a non-aggressive pack of happy dogs, you know, old school style - you can't get much better than Lisa D's.

It's important for me to make progress with my dog, so I Googled alternate options and stumbled upon Alex's page. I called him on a Friday and he picked up the phone right away. We spoke for a while about my needs and he came out the following Tuesday for what was supposed to be a 2-hour visit. I fell in love with him immediately, he is not only so personable and likable on his own, but he really takes the time to LISTEN to what you need and work on those things right away. I had mentioned my priorities to my previous trainer, but I found that she was teaching my dog commands that didn't actually accomplish what I was after. In our first meeting, Alex worked on SO MANY of my priorities. He got my dog to go into her crate on command, taught her to "stay," showed me how to "walk with" my dog better on her leash, and (using a 30' leash outdoors) started working on recall with her. We were so immersed in what was going on that Alex started to go a little bit over our time, but he didn't want to stop because we were making such great progress. I told him if he wanted to give me a third hour right then and there that I was prepared to pay for it, and he did!! I learned a lot of things from Alex myself during our first meeting, like how to employ the use of "deltas" (which my old trainer never once mentioned) and how non-verbal cues are arguably more important than verbal ones. Again, my old trainer actually discouraged me from using hand motions, but once incorporating them into my routine I noticed that my dog was much more compliant than she had been. Another positive difference between my old trainer and Alex is he really takes the time to teach you why he's doing what he's doing, and encourages you to participate. My old trainer just taught my dog a command and had me replicate/practice when she left. Alex really makes you feel like you are a part of the teaching process. After our private session Alex recommended some "Small Group Therapy" for my pup. He came at noon on a Thursday to pick up my dog and she proceeded to go on a several-hour outing with his two chihuahuas and a dog he was fostering. The entire time he was out with her he was recording and sharing videos on an iCloud album. It was INCREDIBLE to not only see everything that was happening, but to hear him narrate why he was doing the things he was doing. I could not get enough of his videos and felt like I was there during the session. On top of Alex's excellent communication, punctuality, reliability, friendliness, competency, and effectiveness, his rates are OUTRAGEOUS in the BEST way! I truly believe he is under-charging for his services. I can get three hours with Alex for less than I paid for one hour with my prior trainer, and I feel much better about the work that is done during that timeframe. I adore Alex, and most importantly, what he is doing works. He really gets into the mind of your dog, and has such a wonderful way of connecting with them and their needs. I am elated to keep our work going - my pup has lots more Small Group Therapy outings in her future and it's wonderful that I have the option to use him one-on-one to teach her even more commands in the house. One day I hope to move on from essential commands to more fun ones, like "roll over" or "go get X toy."
