Words can't describe how badly this school has set me back First I spend thousands of my own money I worked hard saving up enrolling in the program and having to take off work to attend classes while I was financially supporting my grandparents and making min wage at the time. Then they accuse me of being "suspicious" for not getting drug tests or titers done ASAP because I spend all of my money I had on them. Then when I finally get it done, I do clinicals, then they drop me from clinicals the first week "because I didn't have enough sticks"(not in my control how many people come in), then finally settled on the actual reason being "I just wasn't confident", which was an insane excuse considering I had to literally starve for weeks to afford this program. Then when I'm obviously bummed about wasting all my money, the teacher accused me of "only wanting this program for making money" it was PHLEBOTOMY, I wasn't going to be making more than 13 an hour, she then starts claiming it's a good thing and forces me to sign something claiming I dropped, which was untrue so they don't have to refund me read more

I have been attending this good old place for wayyy too long now. They have the worst administrative staff and not one person in the administrative process can properly assist you with anything. Do not depend on these people to tell you what you need to graduate because they will never be correct, I promise you. They will come up with many ways to steal your money, screw you over, and leave you stuck in that hell-hole forever. The only person you can depend on is yourself. You have to use your own two eyes, understanding, and reading skills. Because the staff here doesn't have the sense of a two year old. TL;DR Great campus/school, bad communication skills. This school offers great resources, classes, clubs, and is Delgado's largest campus. They have a nice new library building that is so overwhelmed with books it doesn't have them all shelved yet. The Women's Center is a great place to study, write a paper, take a nap, or just hang out. The cafeteria has pretty good food. The coffee shop has decent prices and coffee. The Fab Lab is an amazing place to learn and build using equipment like 3D printers and laser cutters. The advisors know exactly what to say and how to say it to keep you on track! The only quib that I have is with the financial aid and student help centers. The military financial aid advisors take a very long time to reply to any emails. The financial aid department as a whole does not communicate well, with students nor each other. The student help center can be extremely helpful but often is not. They also move very slowly when helping and lines are always long. Also, don't ever try to call to get an answer of any kind, you likely will not get through to anyone. read more

Delgado - I love you and I hate you. Pros: The size of campus is nice, the classes are not so large that you're lost in a crowd, and most of the teachers are happy to be there and assist you. Cons: Lines, support staff that drag their heels on doing ANYTHING (or just plain don't know what they are doing), some of the classrooms are glorified closets. The bookstore is also a giant rip off. Also, something always goes wrong with your refund from student loans - it's never on the day it's supposed to arrive on. Building one is full of ants - they'll seriously run off with your drinks/food. If they put less money into building a new fancy building and more into fixing the existing buildings, this would be a better campus. read more

If you are trying to get into the lineman program do not waste your time going here. The lady that heads the program is completely useless. Not only did I leave there with no information, mind you it was not for a lack of trying she was just completely disinterested in answering my questions. I left feeling completely defeated, She has an amazing way of explaining that it's not the program for you and that you won't get in even if you try. But I say she can go kick rocks. Look into finding another school that will offer the same course, I would rather shove bamboo shoots into my finger nails while placing my feet on hot coals than attend Delgado, and it's all thanks to the women who explained to me that I should not even try to get into the program because it's probably a waste of my time. read more

This campus is my favorite Delgado campus. It's big. It's spread out, it's at city park. The campus itself is pretty nice. The buildings are older and hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Ample parking. They have a few places to get food close by like buds beoiler, Burger King, subway and the restaurant in city park but not much other than that. If you park on campus you will need a parking pass otherwise you will get ticketed by campus police. If you park on the street near campus or at city park, be sure to follow the signs and don't park unless parking is permitted, because every once in a while during semesters NOPD is out towing cars & handing out tickets like rice cakes! As far as the administration, I've had so many problems with getting forwarded or directed to somebody else to answer my questions and they make it ridiculously harder than it should be to register for classes or get advice with a counselor or anything that involves meeting with someone to advise you about classes. Once you pick your classes, for the most part all the teachers I've gotten were super helpful and very nice. I couldn't complain about their help, willingness to help, and open office hours or flexibility with their class within reason. read more

It's really hard to get help at this school. Some of the staff can be rude sometimes. If they could improve their communication skills and reach out to students more that would help immensely. Books should be cheaper too. The prices are outrageous. The courses are good and there are definitely some good teachers but with these other things lacking it brings everything else down. read more

Trying to attend this school has been the worse experience in my life! I was in the military and have been all over and attended a couple of other community colleges and I have never been treated so rude! You have to do most of your own work and investigating on how to do things. The school is overwhelmed. There are too many students and not enough staff. The counselors, financial aid assistants, chancellors, they just don't care about your progress or if you make it here. Buildings are so old and smelly. Technology is so far behind it's prehistoric. They want everything to be done by the students themselves on the web so they don't have to work but the technology isn't there yet. read more

Even though this is a community college, in these times of tight purse strings, it is a great value. Trust me, I speak from experience. 98% of the teachers are good. They actually care about what they teach. And well, the other 2% are not even worth mentioning. I am in the culinary program studying and working towards me pastry arts degree. The administrative staff is a joke. Most of the employees do not even pretend to care about their job. You get the run around everywhere you go. So many emails I've sent have gone unanswered. It took me weeks to find out who my advisor was after my previous one retired. I really feel like there's an element of racial tension between the staff and certain students. Registration time is a mad house. No one knows what's going on. It's chaos. They lose records all the time. I've sent them my ACT score twice. I've sent them my UNO transcripts at least four times. Each time they say the school/ACT must have not sent them. Hmmm. What's the common denominator here? It's gotten so bad that in May I got three sealed copies of my UNO transcripts and everytime I need to do any kind of advising, I'm taking a copy with me. That way they can't tell me, "oh we can't do anything without that transcript. NEXT PERSON IN LINE!" My multiple trips to UNO on transcript quests have just highlighted the steep contrast between the schools. At UNO everyone is friendly and helpful. Unforunately for me, Delgado is the only school in the state that offers my major. The bookstore is a ripoff, but that's par for the course. Parking is near impossible. Even if you have a decal, get ready for a hike. There's construction everywhere that's blocking the good parking spots. It's about a 15 minute walk to my classes from the nearest parking spots. They should have some kind of shuttle bus program. I have to give my regards to the teachers, though. Most of my teachers seem to actually care that you understand the material. The class sizes are reasonable. The campus is a good size. There's just so much they could improve. read more

Delgado has great teachers but administration is not very helpful. The attitudes are some of the worst. I always feel rushed and like I'm a burden if I have any concerns. My last experience left me feeling very discouraged and honestly I didn't feel as if anyone wanted to genuinely help. I'll be glad when everything is resolved because no one should be subjected to this type of behavior. I graduated weeks ago and still don't have my degree. It seems like Delgado has improved on answering their phones on the main campus. The price is very reasonable. The courses are just as rigorous as a four year institution. And there is a lower 9th ward campus location. read more

I do not even go to this school, I have never been a student there and they placed a hold on my account for an apparent application that was filled out 3 years ago and never paid. My application was never completed and I never got accepted into this place nor were any other required documents provided. I stopped the application process because I realized how horrible of a facility this was and did not want to go there. My transcripts from other school are now being withheld and I tried talking to the bursars but got spoken to like a 5 year old. RUDEST and MOST UNORGANIZED people I have ever dealt with. They're reputation is horrible. Do not like the fact that you cannot even speak to someone who knows or is with allied health dept esp concerning certain programs like dialysis tech There is some good programs seem to be offerd here but no info on class days and times ect on website and I totally agree with other comments concerning additudes or no concern ,don't like their job or helping people. Delgado community college in new orleans is trying to extort money out of me. They claim that I attended classed Fall 2012, while I have been living in California since late September 2012. After trying to obtain my transcripts to transfer here in California they claimed I still owe them tuition from the previous semester. I never received an acceptance letter, nor did I register for school, but I am being charged for classes I never took. What's really confusing is they said I came in on November 1st and signed forms, which is impossible given I hadn't been in that state again until 2013. I assume they said that to "prove" I attended so they could charge me, but they will not show me these "papers" I apparently signed. After talking to them they will no longer return my calls or answer emails. I have already reported them to the Better Business Bureau and also the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Unfortunately I feel I am forced to pay this tuition in order to get my transcripts for college this fall. It is unfair, but I don't know what else to do. I may pursue legal action after the fact if this is not resolved. Don't go to this school. Outside of their scamming they have the lousiest staff that are completely unhelpful and lazy. If you want to ask someone a question they never know the answer or they point you to someone else who either tells you the same thing or gives you the run around. I have been harassed by a teacher offering me a better grade for sexual favors. I noticed favoritism amongst students based on race alone, which bothered me quite a bit. Their record keeping is a joke, they lose paperwork all the time and are unorganized and unprofessional. When I went to meet with the bursar at the Northshore Covington campus she had a line outside her door while she was chit-chatting with other staff about personal matters. She was very rude, dismissive and overall just very unprofessional. Not one time have I ever been rude or lost my temper directly at the staff. I have always cooperated with them in a polite, but direct matter. I expect efficiency, and dependability and this college has none of that. It's not surprising the graduation rate is so low for this school. If you can help it go somewhere else. BRCC was better than this. THERE IS ONE REDEEMING FACTOR- This school despite all of it's faults has a few really dedicated teachers I enjoyed learning from.
