Honestly the best afternoon tea I've ever had the pleasure of eating…read more Two days ago, we went to the big Betty's in York - where we ordered two afternoon teas from - which had small towers giving small afternoon tea treats. It made for a good Instagram, however, yesterday we went to Blacker Hall Farm where we ordered afternoon tea - only to be treated to larger sandwiches, a giant scone each, and three unique delicious desserts. This far exceeded my expectations and also was quite a bit more tasty than Betty's. Would definitely visit again soon!

Perhaps not: in any case I have had some great products from them…read more Their chorizo (several kinds) was absolutely delicious - although sadly this usually meant it failed to make its way into the intended risotto, as I had scoffed it before it could do so. They also had some rather yummy Polish coconut wafers, lovely rye bread and absolutely addictive turron durro (Spanish nougat). That's when they had the latter in, at least: they were perpetually promising me they were expecting supplies 'next week', with 'next week' always disappearing over the horizon! I did have a problem with one product but was promptly offered a refund with no quibbles. A very nice shop, I will be sorry if it has closed.

I like this branch of Morrisons in Wakefield. It is a little out of the town centre and is bigger…read moreand less crowded than the town centre branch. The range of foods on offer is good - my own favourites are the fabulous date and walnut/cheese and walnut breads and the wonderful lemon smoked mackerel on the fish counter. Very very good, but then every supermarket has its specialities. What I also go to Morrisons for are the low prices, and although not across the board, I would say on average it is the most economical supermarket if you are willing to fill half your trolley with items from their value range. (As most people are, of late!) Also they have a good stock of cardboard boxes readily available, often very handy to have around and helpful for transporting your groceries!

There are so many places to get what you need for a week, from posh to not so posh. But still i go to Morrison's. That annoying advert on TV tells us that ASDA is cheaper. But still I go to Morrison's. The place looks like it was built in the 70's. But still I go to Morrison's. To be honest, everyone uses the same supermarket that their parents use. I was brought up in a Morrison's family, and a Morrison's man i shall remain! The only reason that it doesn't have 5 stars is as mentioned above, it looks like it was erected in the 1970's and really could do with the bit of a spruce up. The deli counter is excellent and I'm now even on first name terms with some of the staff there. What more could you want... oh yeah, I already went through that didnt I?

The staff were bright and friendly. We'd just avoided the lunchtime rush, and Mother Dear read a newspaper off the rack while I perused the lush chocolate cabinet. One hot chocolate and a bacon-and-egg butty later (fresh granary bread to cancel out the chocolate, of course) and I was done for that visit. Can't wait to return though!

I have only been a couple of times so far but it's thumbs up from me. All the food is freshly prepared and home cooked. It's very nice and they cater for any request where they can. Adaptations to anything on the menu, they are happy to oblige.
