They sell all the usual goodies - cakes, doughnuts, sausage rolls, pasties, sandwiches, drinks and so on. They are usually pretty cheap as well, with sausage rolls at 60p, if you are starving but trying to make sure you have enough bus fare, then that's a pretty good option. My favourite bit about this shop though is the staff. They are happy-go-lucky and friendly, which is more than I can say of the other Greggs stores that I have been in. The last time I wandered past the shop was empty and the girls behind the counter were having some kind of dance off, and when they noticed that I had spotted them, creased up in laughter. Joy and cakes in Chapel Allerton! Makes it that little bit sweeter when you pop in for a bite.

As Ryan H points out, it's the only place in the local area to get a pasty, pie or bakerie item without heading into the Town Centre and so it's very convenient and accessible for a quick lunch. As a fairly large chain, I'm sure you are aware of Sayers, what they offer and the quality there. It's not the best pasty you'll ever have and not a patch on Carr's but it certainly fills a need when craving hits!

They do lovely sandwiches, you can pick your own filling and it will be made fresh in front of you. As with Greggs, they have a naughty selection of fresh cream cakes, iced buns and muffins to debate over. The prices are still cheap and of course, you take the food away to eat it. Ainsleys gets busy at peak times like lunch and dinner but the queues won't last very long. It's worth it anyway.

There's loads of branches all across the country and they're pretty much all the same in offering the hot food, sandwiches, soft drinks and proper bean coffee. I have to say that in my mind the best thing they do is their breakfast meal deal which comes in at a pretty decent £2 for either a bacon or sausage map and espresso based drink (or tea) of your choice. This is fantastic value and served till 11am I think so really not to be missed if you're needing a quick first or second breakfast - this is definitely always a good call on a hangover day!

Neither were what could strictly be called a pasty, but that's just the West Country pedant in me coming out and in no way reflects the quality of said pastry snack. They also do delicious, creamy, sugary cakes and buns for around £1 and a selection of sandwiches, though the pastries are definitely the best value for money.

They had ran out of jam donuts which was a big disappointment but I consoled myself with a Bakewell Tart. The little desserts on their bottom shelf may not look as good as their Mr. Kipling or Krispy Kreme counterparts but I can vouch for the taste. Otherwise, they sold snacks, sandwiches, drinks and delicious looking bread.
