Not only do they bake a good variety of breads every morning, they also have a great selection of cold meats, cheese and lots of other Eastern European grocery goodies stoked up. My go to is always the locally made seed bread, which is delicious! Hint: it's always baked on Wednesdays, and they may sell out fast ;) I am looking forward to trying their sourdough, which I found out about last week. Fresh every morning at 9 am.

We walked in and I was immediately impressed by how vast and spotless the place was. This is one enormous place. There's a ton of seating in the main area, and if that's not enough, there's a whole other seating area around the corner. Everything looked really tasty but we decided to try a couple of savory pastries, both of which were delicious and fresh. For my drink, I went with the Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew ("Cold brew coffee with vanilla and topped with sweet cream"), which certainly quenched my thirst and need for a pick-me-up. I want to single out the staff, too. Everybody was super friendly and helpful, and the manager even stopped by our table and offered our daughter a complimentary bear-shaped madeleine. Paris Baguette is a very welcome addition to the neighborhood. We'll definitely be returning.

You've probably heard that this place has the best black forest cake in the city, and that's what drew me in. At first I was nervous not to see one behind the 1970s style counter window, but upon asking I was told that they had a frozen one which only needed a few hours at room temperature to thaw and be good as new. Or, it could just thaw out overnight in the refrigerator. But I had no time to wait, 4 hours would be punishment enough! In the future I will call ahead, to make sure that what I want is ready for when I want it. I had options. There was a small one, that I was told would serve eight, or a large one that I was told would serve 10 to 12. I opted for the small one, because for two of us eight seemed like far more than enough. Now, I understand why they say it serves eight. There are eight cherries on top of it, and I suppose each slice is supposed to get a cherry. however, each slice that gets a cherry better want to have two or three slices because that's the amount of getting with those sizes. I would say there would be no problem serving 16 people with the small cake. I'm a little nervous to think of what the large one looks like, but a little excited as well. You are free to sit down and eat any number of the treats that they offer in shop. There are a number of tables, and it's quite spacious. But for me, I just paid my $38 on debit because you can't use credit card, and vowed to return. I hear there's a tiramisu with my name on it, but again I'll call ahead for that one, and it would have been too much to order two giant treats on one day. Even if it was for my birthday.
