Decent flavor, and a few minor suggestions…read more I ordered the Classic Box Lunch - Turkey Bacon Jack, which comes with oven-roasted turkey breast, bacon, pepper jack cheese, roasted red peppers, lettuce, and chipotle mayo on honey wheat bread. I swapped the bread for sourdough, but it didn't have much of that signature sourdough tang. My sandwich was also cut from the end of the loaf, so the tapering meant I got a bit less bread. Flavor-wise, the chipotle mayo carried the sandwich. The bacon was of the pre-cooked, ready-to-eat variety--like what you'd find from Oscar Mayer or Kirkland. Not bad, but a little underwhelming since I was expecting freshly cooked based on a coworker's hype. The bacon was also clumped in the center, which was surprising considering the care they put into packaging. Would've been better evenly distributed for balanced bites. Packaging was excellent. Everything comes beautifully packed and cleanly presented--puts places like Subway to shame. Toppings come a la carte, so you can build the flavor profile to your liking. Even came with utensils, which you don't always get for other places. Making you have to walk back in to get them. The box also included: Carrot slices - Fresh and sweet, a nice surprise. Ranch dip - A bit green in color (maybe herbs?), but didn't taste off. Chocolate chip cookie - Soft, not dry, and packed with big chunks of chocolate. Very good. For $11.99, I felt the value was decent, especially with the sides and thoughtful packaging (heavy-duty box and thick plastic bags for the carrots and pickle so they don't spill). Just be aware that extras will cost extra--those add-ons can creep up if you're not paying attention. Ordering online was easy, and they offer a rewards program for repeat customers. The shop itself has a nice atmosphere--clean, welcoming, and good for a quick lunch. Just remember to bring your own drink, as beverages aren't included. Bottom line: A great place for a well-packaged, satisfying lunch. With a few tweaks to ingredient prep, it could easily be a 5-star spot.

The appetizer they provided consisted of a pineapple cut in half and shish-kabob skewers that had 1+" hunks of ham (they were not consistent in size and I think it was a lunch meat type boiled ham) along with raw red onion chunks, cherry tomatoes, some nondescript white cheese - either mozzarella or Swiss cheese, 2-3 slices of pepperoni (folded together), and a pepperoncini. These skewers were then stuck into one of two pineapple half's (think porcupine) and there were maraschino cherries included on these skewers as well. As you might imagine the stuffed mushrooms and appetizer item provided leftovers in significant quantity. On the other hand "stuffed potatoes" were well seasoned and were really the only palatable item Golden Rule Catering provided. But I was lured by this sweet man's winsome charm and wholesome story - - and his free samplers of cobbler. HELLO, adorable little 2-pounder blackberry cobbler! I snatched that one up. And then said wonderful Cobbler Man insisted that I try the "vegetable cobbler" (this. Did. Not. Appeal. To. Me. At. All). I tried it to be polite. And then I purchased it as well in the 2-pounder size because after one taste I was won over. Apparently the cobblers can be ordered in just about any size and serving capacity. These hearty, heavy little compact 2-pound cobblers could easily feed 2 adults. I cannot even imagine how cozy and comforting tucking into a hot chicken cobbler must be (doesn't that just sound lovely?!). These two-serving (OR only-meal-needed-for-the-day) cobblers are $10 apiece, and they are WORTH IT. They taste so good and are so flawlessly executed! You simply cannot expect to get an Aunt Flora-quality cobbler for a Swanson frozen pie price. The dear Cobbler Man instructed that I should gently warm up a fruit cobbler in a preheated 300 degree oven for 10 min. - but that didn't happen, who has time like that when you have a perfect personal pan pie thing to devour?! My kiddo and I split the blackberry lovely, nuked it till hot and ate it swirled with whipped cream. GAWWWWWW, deliciousness. And the crust is ridiculous, even MICROWAVED it didn't lose any of its flaky integrity and still came out crispy and golden. Oh and that cheesy-but-cheeseless, meatless-but-savory vegetable pot pie I also got?! Um ate that microwaved at work the next day and had TWO co-workers poised with plastic ware asking to try it.
