Don't use this firm. My relationship with them started many years ago when I was too ill to protect myself. They ended up keeping nearly all of my insurance benefits. My life was ruined by terrible illness but they made it worse. My personal attorney was Stephen Jessup but I usually dealt with his brutally authoritarian legal assistant. In the end I was bombasted, albeit legally, out of my loss-of-income benefit. Save yourself and try to find a firm with compassion. This is an honest review from a former client of Dell Disability. I hired them to represent me in a STD appeal and to handle the LTD claim once the policy kicked in. Reliance Standard had provided me with a claim file that had my name at the top but the letter was for someone who worked for a different employer and had all of their claim information in the letter. I had not been able to get a copy of the policies and the claim file was just a bunch of compressed and cut off pages. I had no idea what a claim file was supposed to look like but Dell Disability does. Dell represented me for 240 days. If I did not remove them as counsel on 4/28/23 Reliance Standard would have denied the claim when they got the peer review back. I would have never known that Dell never started the LTD claim and when the STD claim was denied I would have had no recourse. I would have never known that Reliance Standard only saved 3 pages of medical out of 351 pages to their administrative record. They appeal that I was sent by Dell Disability wasn't the appeal that Reliance Standard. At the point I removed Dell i was owed 16 weeks of STD and the other 28 weeks would have been under the LTD policy. That is like Dell going to work for 43 weeks and only trying to get paid for 16. I think sometimes it's more important for the employer to get rid of the claim all together and that was attempted with my claim. They waited to even start the appeal until after the policy with my employer was terminated. I found enough proof (it took me 707 days) but I was paid for all 707 days and put back on claim for LTD benefits. My advice: read your contract before you sign it. The contract doesn't say a single thing Dell will do for you. Only what you are paying them and that all contact will go through Dell. You can't request to see what Reliance has saved to it's files yourself. That is intentional. Those records won't be the same. Dell Disability is just setting the expectations in their videos of exactly what they are going to do. read more

Unless you are able to articulate your entire case in NO MORE THAN 30 seconds of this law firm's "precious time", do not be prepared to receive any legal assistance from them of any kind! The guy who I'd spoken to earlier today (someone by the name of Daniel in one of their Florida offices) must've been hyped up on WAY too much caffeine or something, Lol! Or alternatively, maybe it was that he just wanted to try to rush me off the phone as quickly as possible, simply because my case wasn't going to end up being a slam-dunk "money grab" for his law firm, in terms of potential profitability. Seriously, the entire phone call was a complete joke! It was over in a matter of barely a couple minutes' time, and I wasn't even afforded the basic common decency, respect, or even simple courtesy of having the opportunity to outline/explain at least 90% of everything else, with regards to details which would've proven to have been quite relevant and extremely salient to my potential case. On numerous occasions, this Daniel clown just interrupted me, talked over me, etc. while trying to push his (and only HIS) own agenda as well as the agenda of his law firm, instead of actually LISTENING to what someone had to say. All that I can really say is..... WOW!! These are the types of lawyers which this law firm, Dell & Schaeffer PA has representing them? If so, then the partners here at this law firm might want to reconsider exactly who it is that they are ultimately going to hire and retain in order to represent their potential clients. By all means, still utilize this law firm if you need to, especially if you honestly do believe that you have a 100% slam-dunk money grab of a potential case. However, don't be prepared to be treated with any respect, common decency, or just basic courtesy along the way. The guy who I'd spoken to earlier this afternoon just simply didn't want to hear anything that I had to say, which was obviously quite frustrating. Even if you don't think that you'll be able to represent someone or take on their case, just a few minutes of your "precious time" isn't going to make or break your workload. And if anything, when any law firm such as this one has lawyers engaging in that same downright rude, pompous, and egregiously disrespectful conduct (like I'd unfortunately been subjected to earlier today), it really begs the question as to whether or not this is actually a law firm that you'd really want representing your best interests in court? Based upon my brief, albeit shockingly rude and disrespectful interactions with this Daniel guy in one of their Florida offices earlier today, I'd honestly have to say that: No, this is probably one law firm that you'd just be better off skipping over and avoiding altogether. Their time (not yours) and their opinions/feedback (not yours', the client's) is what obviously matters most to them!! I am so grateful to Rachel Alters and her staff for helping me with my uncle's claim! She was amazing. This was a very difficult case, because my uncle was mentally disabled. He had failed to immediately make a claim, because he was too disabled to even do the simplest of tasks. As soon as I found out about my uncle's disability policy, I called several attorneys. I contacted this Law Firm Because Me and A Friend of mine was bit up by Bed Bugs in Susanville Ca at the River Inn Motel I had over 50 Bites on My Body and After months of only being able to speak to the Secretary and sending in All the pictures and Documentation because they couldn't get a settlement they decided not to represent us and that was the first time the lawyer ever contacted us after making us assume they had good news.
