She has a wonderful personality and does a reasonably good job. I mostly go back just because I just like her, even though everything I take out of there smells like a pack of cigarettes when I get it back (worse in the winter). Fine for basic alterations, especially on kids stuff (she's very nice to my kids) or for daily wear items that you can machine wash, but I would STRONGLY advise against bringing your dry cleaning items, wedding items or finest fabrics/most expensive clothes here. read more

I love this sweet lady. She hemmed 3 pairs of pants for me in less than 2 hours. There is a slight hint of smoke when you walk in I guess, but nothing that wreaked and my clothes didn't smell like smoke when I left. She is the nicest seamstress I have ever been too. I hope more people will use her services. She is excellent. read more

I went there to get a zipper fixed on a leather jacket. She charged me over $200 , and the zipper came apart within seconds of having it on. I took the jacket back to her to fix and she wanted more money from me. I dont recommend her at all. The place reeked of cigarettes and she charged way too much money, then tries to extort you for more. read more

The work done was fine the rating is for the price. I feel like $150 for a hem on a bridesmaids dress is unreasonable. I rarely get alterations done and didn't realize that the cost was so expensive until I called around. The work done was good but that price is unacceptable. We did not have a good experience at Delmon Alterations in Sturbridge. We went to have a prom dress shortened. While my daughter was getting dressed she told me about how rough a winter she had and her taxes were due. There were a few other comments that should have been red flags. Like asking and assuming I paid a ton for the dress. When it came time to leave the dress, she asked how much money I had on me. We went back and forth and finally I asked how much for the hem. No body work, just hemming. Yes it had 3 layers, and yes the top layer had a lot of material, but it is a prom dress. She said $450. I was in shock. I gave her $60 and she asked that I go get the rest, could I she asked? I went out to the car with my daughter and just sat there. My daughter spoke up and said we can't do that, she is trying to get money to pay her taxes. I left my daughter in the car and went back in. I told her we wouldn't be leaving the dress. She said "no no, how much can you pay?" I stayed firm. I asked for the dress and my money back. She complained under her breath about her time. I told her to give me the dress back and I would give her something for her time. She gave me the dress and my money and I gave her $20 bucks for 30 minutes of work. She still complained. I have found a new person and they are going to charge $45. The worst part is, when we went to the new place and my daughter had on the dress, there was a blood stain, I sure hope it was an accident, but it was clearly at the part where the women from Delmon took out the pins she had put in before she gave the dress back. I would like to believe it was an accident, but with the attitude she had I am not so sure. It has been many years since I felt like I was being taken advantage of. I feel for her that she was obviously in a bad situation, but it doesn't give her the right to take advantage. At the time I knew little about the average cost, so she could have gotten away with $175 and I would have left. In the end I am glad it worked out the way it did. The place smelled like smoke and my daughter was very worried the dress would smell like smoke if it was left there. I would proceed with caution if you decide to go there. I am writing because it is of the good reviews I read that sent me there. From now on I will stick with word of mouth. read more
