I live in Boston but my Volvo guru here in Newbury recommended Coastal Collision to have some…read morecosmetic work done including installation of front OEM winglets (already paint matched) as part of the S60R's sport kit, repair of a lower trim piece that was a casualty of opening and scraping on a curb and fixing some clips on the front and rear bumper covers. I spoke with Tony on a Friday and he was able to fit me in on a Wednesday of the following week (Memorial Day weekend) and the car was completed early Thursday morning. Tony was extremely knowledgable going over each component and the steps they would take to install/repair while keeping my bottom line in mind. Tony even dissuaded me from respraying the front bumper cover (didn't need it anyway since the winglets would cover the small rock chips and the labor cost to dismantle and reinstall would be high) as well as not going the route of replacing/painting a totally new trim piece. I am ridiculously meticulous with my car and Coastal truly exceeded all my expectations especially on their workmanship, professionalism, communication and overall cost. I expected the job to be a lot more $$ for what they accomplished - the price was lower than the estimate. Tony is a straight shooter and his honesty and transparency is refreshing. I did not have any paint work or blending done but in my mind, I would not hesitate at all to return to Coastal for any of my vehicle's bodywork/painting or custom installation needs. They checked every little thing and charged me only for the gasoline additive they put in to try and fix an engine noise. I was lucky to have this place close at hand for my first two cars.

This summer she had a serious failure which dictated a trip on a roll-back for evaluation. After a day or 2 of extensive diagnosis, they found that it had a failed turbo with an impeller making very minor housing contact (only at temp). Turbo replaced as well as some other needed work and she was out-the-door at a cost MUCH LESS than the local dealer (who thru this service we STRONGLY SUSPECT was NOT changing oil as requested as the oil was broken down and led to a low oil-pressure) who we now will NEVER TRUST. Jack the owner went out-of-his-way during this process and even gave me his cell in the event that we needed anything. Subsequent visits have only made this Dad & gearhead trust and love him more. Yes he's a New Englander and you expect that - duh. Understand him, work with him, and if you can't trust him and his shop it's likely YOUR issue and not his! Oh - he also has a guru of a ECU / computer / electrical tech who also teaches at MIT. He's got talent here who can flat be trusted.

While the vehicle was in their care, Greg backed it into another parked car, causing what appeared to be a minor dent. She initially did not want to file an insurance claim. After heavy rain shortly after, the car developed significant water intrusion in the rear. The dealership later confirmed body damage but advised the issue would be difficult to repair due to the water-related nature of the damage. Regardless of whether the water intrusion is ultimately determined to be related, the shop has refused to provide insurance information for the damage that occurred while the car was in their care, despite repeated requests from both my mother and her insurance company. The lack of transparency and accountability made this situation far more stressful than it should have been.

He spent a lot of time going over my issues with me, and explained that if he were to take the job, he would want to make sure EVERYTHING causing issues would be fixed, so I wouldn't be dropping a huge sum of money only to be back in a month with another issue. He was honest and straight up. He made sure I understood everything that was going on, every step of the way. It was honestly the first time where I never once worried that I was being overcharged or taken advantage of. It was a huge job, and he did great with it. Worth every penny to me to keep my baby. She runs like a dream. I will never go to another mechanic again, Reggie is the only guy I will ever use for my Jetta.
