There were no dive plans, no dive briefing, and I was later informed that the (very young-looking) person that I was told was my DM was 14 years old. Standing on the coral and providing single use plastic cups is not my idea of a good dive boat. They did make utterly fantastic guacamole, but that's not a reason to pick a dive shop.

In the past used pangas - slow, uncomfortable, and direct sun - like a slow motion beating on the water. First time on a true fishing boat ... never go back to my old ways. We fished Marlin (catch and release) and lots of opportunities.

The people were friendly and welcoming. The lodging was modern, clean and first class at La Mision Hotel. Every meal was excellent or outstanding. Loreto is not Los Cabos. All of this became the backdrop to the jewel of the trip, a day of fishing and relaxation in the Sea of Cortez. Cast N' Reel provided an extremely comfortable and fast boat for our fishing adventure. By fast, I mean that we were able to fish in one day all of the locations that would have taken three day with the local panga boats. All of our needs were anticipated. Breakfast, snacks, lunch, soft drinks and Mexican beers were amply provided. I am a novice fisherman, so I really enjoyed having the perfect balance of coaching and mentoring when needed while also the opportunity to work things out on my own. It was difficult to remember that it was mid-December. The weather was perfect. We caught eleven fish of multiple varieties including grouper and cabrilla. While the marlin and yellowtail were elusive, we did see sea lions, dolphins, sea turtles and perhaps even the dorsal fin of a shy whale. At the end of our day, our catch was taken to one of the better dinner houses in Loreto and prepare in a variety different dishes. They were all wonderful. We also drove to Mulege for a quick visit, we had never been so it was such a treat to visit and see all of its beauty. Back to the car rental, we were extremely pleased with their customer service. It was fast, they helped us out with giving us a good deal and letting us return car at airport the next day. With what we paid for the 2 day rental we saved on having to pay taxis to take us to the mision and to the airport. Great time in Loreto!! Great customer service from Mex Rent a Car!!

We saw colorful nudibranchs, hundreds of reef fish, playful sea lions, and a moray eel! Our guide Orlando made us feel safe and comfortable diving, and our boat captain showed us pods of dolphins and leaping rays on our journey to the islands. We can't wait to come back again and are already looking forward to the next time!

Liz, our hostess outdid herself with making us comfortable and ensuring we had everything we needed to make our stay memorable. She gave us a tour of Loreto so we could get a feel of where things were. Showing us the best restaurants and the most awesome homemade ice cream parlor. Liz arranged for a boat tour for us and let us know all the local happenings around the area. The Casita was equipped with everything you could imagine in a kitchen. I could have baked cookies if I was thus inclined, and the staff came in and cleaned every day. It was lovely having our morning coffee outside in the courtyard and with a heated pool you could swim at any time of the day. With a well stocked library and movies if you just wanted to stay at the casitas and relax you need not look anywhere else. Close by the town square and the marina, everything was within walking distance. We have already booked a 2 week stay next year we were so impressed with the service and room. Note: Did not book online. Walked into the office and reserved the car for 2 days later. Staff…read morespoke English and explained the 3 different levels of insurance to choose from. It was $50 with basic insurance for 1 day, I paid $60 total for an econo car (stick shift) with full coverage except windshield and tires. I had to leave a $500 deposit on charge card. Unlimited miles. The car had 56K miles on it and drove ok, a little sluggish in first gear, but otherwise fine and basic. We did a walk around prior to taking the car out and staff noted a chip in the windshield. There were no surprise charges at the end, and the deposit was credited back within about 3 days. Staff was very cordial and careful to explain everything. It was really convenient to rent the car and pick up/drop off in Centro Loreto and not have to go out to the airport to get the car.

The staff will treat you like your asking too much. Their indifference will be so complete as to make you question your own existence. Our stay included initially being downgraded. We were staying for 4 nights. There was a desk with an uncomfortable chair and a bench. No place to put ones luggage. No place to sit comfortably. When I asked for a chair i was told i could sit outside in the 95 degree heat. When they brought a chair it was another uncomfortable one. I asked again and the brought me yet another uncomfortable one. When i asked for a place to put our luggage they brought another bench. That was no where near big enough for our 2 suitcases. We asked for a refrigerator 4 times before one was brought. When I went to the 6 to 9 pizza party at 8:30 I was told I there was no pizza. In other reviews you here about noise or veiw, neither of this things were the case for me. The bed was comfortable the ac adequate and quiet. And yet every interaction I had with the staff was awful. There are a lot better places to be in Loreto.

We also were able to experience a superpod of hundreds of dolphins swimming alongside the boat. Jorge and Armando were very attentive and assisted us through all the fishing steps. It was a great day of fishing and we would recommend Fishing Geer Charters for any of your fishing, whale-watching, and/or snorkel adventures. They arrived on time, were very attentive the whole time, and cleaned & filleted the fish for us. I'll be contacting them again for our next trip and you should too!
