Dr. Bittner has been the specialist that , over the last five years, has managed to save a number of my teeth that were ruined by 20 years of hack dentists who I should never have allowed to try to root canal my teeth. My regular dentist, who I love, and who does all my regular dental stuff, doesn't even try to do my Endodontics... I just go to Bittner. The office team here is fantastic, such nice people, and very efficient and caring. The technology they have is unbelievable, and Dr. Bittner himself is so great. His expertise is second to none, and his bedside manner is reassuring friendly and helps so much if you are at all nervous of dental work. He tells the worst jokes... ever... be warned... seriously. Terrible lame jokes, and I love it. He is a nice man and not arrogant. Just for perspective, I have had so much dental work in my life, nasty invasive, painful abscess type stuff that I don't get nervous for any reason. I fall asleep with a drill running in my mouth... but I know some people still are freaked. I saw my dentist who I advised I would need a root canal and was referred to Dr Rene Chu of Oakridge Endodontics. I had an initial consult with Dr Chu where x-rays were taken and he explained in detail the process. A root canal is required when the inner pulp of a tooth becomes infected, inflamed, or dies due to severe decay. The root canal removes the infected pulp, cleans the root canal, and seals it to save the tooth from extraction. The root canal appointment was made for the following week. The root canal procedure went very well. Each step of the process was explained as they went and they continually checked to ensure I was ok. There was a short debrief after the procedure and I was provided instructions / information on what to expect for the next few days. It was a very positive dental procedure and happy to recommend Dr Chu and Oakridge Endodontics if one is needing a root canal.

Never mind, the surgery itself was less disturbing than getting a Filling. Now that's saying something! I've been around the block, quite a few times, and Drs. Conn are consummate professionals in every way. Their staff are also wonderful to deal with, every single one of them. Anyone saying otherwise needs to look in the mirror. The staff is friendly and efficient, the office is state-of-the-art and my treatment was successful. On my first visit they needed to do a 3D image of my tooth. I asked if I could take a picture of it with me. They did much better than that: they burned a DVD with not only the 3D data but viewing software so I could manipulate the image, slice it, zoom in, etc. Very high tech and fun. If that's interesting to you, be sure to ask for it. Dr. Liang is very personable and seems to really know his stuff. He explained things well and was happy to answer all questions. He personally followed up with a phone call a couple of days after my visits to make sure everything was OK. I guess no one looks forward to a visit to the dentist exactly, but if I need more endodontic work done, this is the place I'd want to go for it.

That said, when you're in pain, and it doesn't go away on it's own, and you've maxed out on OTC pain meds for weeks, it's time to get the source of the pain addressed by a professional. And my terrific dentist referred me to this practice and, specifically, Dr. Ektefaie here, saying this is where he himself goes for endodontal work. So that was quite an endorsement for me! This place was great. No surprises, and lots of patience with me (I am a bit phobic of dentists. Yes, I AM a woos, stemming from a horrid experience as a child with a Marathon Man-esque dentist. But I digress...). I visited here twice: once, for a diagnosis/evaluation, and then again, days later for the actual procedure. I was lucky they were able to work me in the schedule so soon after the eval. And Dr. Ektefaie and his assistants were really super, taking the time to explain everything to me, showing me the x-rays and going over the situation (I like that I was included in the whole process and all various options and potential issues were discussed clearly to me. Made me feel like I was in control here and part of the team). I also appreciated that all costs were disclosed upfront. Again, I don't like surprises and here, there were none. The procedure was as painless as possible (surprisingly), and the pain I had lived with for the past month was gone! (Root canals get a bad rap, I think! When you need 'em, you need 'em). During the root canal procedure, he kept checking in with me to make sure I was doing ok and kept telling me that it was ok if I needed a break. He was just delightful! The front staff were also super friendly, they made sure to go over my insurance with me so I knew what I was getting in for and helped me file my claim as well. They don't direct bill but they do help you submit your claim. After the procedure, the doctor again asked me if I had any questions and made sure I was going home feeling comfortable. The next day, the staff called to follow up with me and make sure I was doing ok. They kept saying that if anything comes up, they would be there to help and that I shouldn't hesitate to call them.
