This Spring Hill park was spared due to the noble efforts of then high school student Kayla Madril,…read morean IB student who made it her mission to revitalize this park so it could reopen. (It was closed in 2011.) Amity Trails Park is 8.5 acres of tree-covered open space that is surrounded by private homes & paved roads. It holds approximately five wooden, covered picnic tables (no grills), some wooden benches, a wooden bike rack, & some trash cans. There's a mulched walking trail, but perhaps the best feature is the large open area that makes this park great for a friendly game of football, soccer, kickball, & frisbee. Visitors can even toss a blanket on the ground for a picnic lunch. There is an area for parking; it is covered in small white rocks. As I exited my vehicle & walked into the park, I was almost immediately greeted by a large turtle who hurried into her underground home. What a lovely little park that brings nature into the heart of a busy town. If I lived closer, I would picnic here often.

I haven't seen an area where it's particularly easy to clean them off afterwards. Today we went to their brand new splash pad and had a decent experience. this area also has a nice large space with durable equipment. It's just too much of a mess when it comes to the age range. there's really no way to redesign it at this point, but maybe the Parks department could consider different times for different ages. A 9 AM start for children under the age of 5(older siblings could be approved, but just extra cautious during this time) and then open it up to the rest of the ages at 10 AM. this was our first time going, but other moms commented that last week they had umbrellas up at the start of the day. Not sure why they didn't provide any shaded areas within the splash pad today. for today, I would probably give it about a 3.5 but there definitely has the potential to be a four or five star creditexperience in the future

The botanical gardens are larger than they look and have many different paths to meander along. They are pet friendly. My pup and I strolled along the paths and took breaks at a couple of the many benches placed about to stop and enjoy the views. They have a nursery with some wonderful looking plants you can buy. There were a couple I wanted but wouldn't make the rest of my road trip. Parking and the park is free. They do accept donations and they also have volunteer opportunities. This was a great spot to spend the morning.
