I only buy the Sunday paper so I can't speak for the rest of the weekdays. Sunday's paper is nowhere near a newspaper. There is no real news of any kind in it. It is a large opinion or left wing platform. There literally is no longer a "local section" in the paper. It is TOO woke and dei to be a "news" paper. It is only a propaganda rag. Only good part is the crossword puzzle page and the obituary section. It even starts with a "let's pat our own backs" page. Not that anyone reads that dribble. read more

Maybe I'm a dinosaur....I have continued to receive the print edition of the Democrat and Chronicle newspaper 7 days a week. A recent delivery problem occurred shortly after we tipped our news carrier for the yearly calendar....I'm not sure what transpired there but that person is no longer with the D&C. Unrelated to that experience, and now after 3 days of calling and emailing the D&C I still have not received a newspaper...nor even the courtesy of a phone call. I've now cancelled my newspaper delivery, which unfortunately eliminates an early morning creature comfort that I've enjoyed for years. If there was a minus 1 I would choose that! I have been a member of the D & C for years! Now it's been at least 3 years where I have been having delivery issues. Call customer service and they reassure me that they will take care of it! NOTHING no paper again today. All I ask is that I receive the paper on the weekends with the advertisements. My carrier seems to be too lazy to insert them. I was getting the paper everyday but canceled because of the same issues. I can't even speak to a supervisor! It's just a scripted message by customer services. Promises and promises but no delivery. I can't even get a call back! I asked for a different carrier and was told that would happen but NOPE just more empty promises. read more

The comics used to be fun to read but have gotten too political. Doonesbury is by far the worst. ( It wasn't any good to begin with). Get some new comic strips or put a policy in place to keep all politics out of that section of the newspaper. Thank you! read more

I paid for 7 days a week for 20 plus yrs!! paper delivery person has started an argument with every person on the street hitting front picture windows. front doors hit to wake up dog in the house and rest of everyone sleeping!! paper left in yard thrown under vehicles thrown in or under bushes!! paper left in driveway or dropped at sidewalk!! delivery person doesn't care and has told people when spoke to he will tell the d&c u came after him not the truth!! delivery between 2-6 am is great but delivery person to be your alarm on purpose is ridiculous!! I gave way to many chances to try to have a newspaper delivered to my home. also to have a customer service person tell me just read it online when I am paying for print delivery to my porch everyday. why pay for print delivery and then internet to read the paper?? r u kidding that's solution for paper delivery issues?? I have a neighbor who has to get on his roof to get the paper from his gutters when he had the paper delivered to him! why is paper delivery person not fired when he's pushed every person on street to cancel the paper except 1.. what the he'll is wrong with this company??? read more

We have had a subscription to the paper for about 18 years. We used to get Sat., Sun. & holidays, but they could never seem to get the papers delivered to us, so we pared down to only Sundays so we could get the TV Guide. We get the paper once a month if we are lucky. We call, but they have no more papers or they're closed, or they say they will bring one by 11:00 - coincidentally when they close. We have gotten one paper in the last 6 weeks & it was a day late. We get our measly credits, but we still never have a paper. So now we subscribe to the actual TV Guide. Only $20. a year! read more

Customer service is the worst, if they actually have one. I have in the past, called numerous times and was on hold which seemed like forever, so I would hang up and try the call back feature that is an option, and no luck there either. My next step was to send a letter to the editor questioning if customer service actually existed and it was never published or answered personally to me, which was no surprise. read more

Several months ago, my 86 year old mother, received a promotion from the D&C offering her a $10 gift card if she subscribed to the newspaper. She decided to subscribe and has never received her gift card. She has contacted customer service multiple times and each time she is promised the gift card or a credit to her account. She received her billing info today, and once again, the promised $10 credit was not applied to her account. What's the deal? You entice an elderly person on a fixed income to subscribe to your newspaper with a $10 gift card and then once she subscribes and you have her money, you blow her off and not fulfill your part of the deal. Terrible lack of customer service! Sub par paper delivery. Paper is thrown in front yard often wet and . Customer request for paper to be delivered in D & C box on porch has not been honored. Policy states they honor customer requests. They do not honor customer requests. Automated email responses to this issue. No promised returned phone calls. (for weeks) Follow up calls not addressed by district manager. Even when I called, and issue was transferred to the "Escalation department," zero customer service. read more

These people are the worst. If it were not for elderly people still liking "the paper" they would no longer be in business. They miss lead you into deals then flat out lie. The worst service ever!! They deliver when they feel like it and you never really see an itemized statement as to what you are being charged for and credits applied when they say they are due to the paper not being delivered. We dropped them long ago because of their poor service and delivery. My dad still wants the paper so I'm dealing with them all over again. They can't comprehend someone having an account that they are paying for, but having the paper delivered to a different address. It is a big fat mess. My mom had an account, but when my dad moved to a nursing home, she had the paper delivered to him there. She still got and paid the bill. They decided it was too expensive so they canceled. I bought a groupon and opened an account my self with delivery to him. Things were all messed up because they "just reopened his account". So the discount I go was no good. Mind you, he never had an account....it was all in my mothers name. So...what are they talking about? Then while on a live chat trying to get this straightened out, my conversation was just dropped because their chat hours ended. Nice, huh. I sent an email with all the information and what had just happened with the chat at asked to be contacted to finish getting this fixed. Have not heard a word. Then today a bill came. In my dad's name...to my address. Again, what? If it's his account no in his name, not mine, why is the bill coming to my house and not the nursing home. Worst delivery ever. Several calls to customer service wait times from 40 min to 15. Tried to cancel what a run around. They add $2.00 fee for delivery. Transfers then hang ups. Will never use again. read more
