It is a large opinion or left wing platform. There literally is no longer a "local section" in the paper. It is TOO woke and dei to be a "news" paper. It is only a propaganda rag. Only good part is the crossword puzzle page and the obituary section. It even starts with a "let's pat our own backs" page. Not that anyone reads that dribble.

Thanks to Yelp Rochester for the 2019 Maker Faire tickets! I have seen advertisements for this…read moreevent in the past and always thought it looked interesting, so I was really excited to check it out this year. I didn't realize that Maker Faires are a worldwide event. The Rochester Faire featured a ton of local businesses, interest groups, colleges, and more. The Riverside Convention Center was the perfect place, as you could walk through the various rooms and hallways to take in all of the booths without it being too crowded. I mean, it was definitely full of people, but the large space made it more manageable to move around. There was food for sale and many of the vendors were also selling some of their works. I had a great time taking everything in! There were so many different creative things to see, from a puppeteer to robotics groups. My favorite was Save Zigby, which was an escape game created by a 4th grader. It was neat to see so many kids running around and engaging in STEM activities. This was a really fun event and great for families and solo visitors like me. I will definitely return next year!

It was our first time here and there was LOTS to see and do for all ages. Two floors of different stations displaying electronics, robotics, inventions, and all creative and techy things. There were defined areas on the map provided to us that were for kids. Our 3 y/o was glued to the main entrance area at the hands-on tables. We stayed longer than anticipated because there were so many things to check out and thankful of the food trucks parked outside the convention center for a quick lunch. Later on we found a small food area in the back of the first floor, but didn't know until we made our way back there. I suggest leaving the big stroller at home and using a carrier for little ones. Try to get there early for this family friendly event so your kids get a chance at the hands-on stations. I anticipate this event will only get bigger each year!

Probably my #1 favorite for listening at work. Not your usual college radio station; this one…read moreactually has professional management (via WXXI), as well as DJ's with real talent. A good mix of civic-minded shows, and they still make space for your typical college neophytes, albiet on non-prime hours. I listen to the World Cafe ( a syndicated show from WXPN in Philadelphia) nearly every afternoon, and make it a point to listen to several of their weekly local shows, such as: Mystery Train (an eclectic mix of new and classic rock, etc) Ritmo Brasileiro (new and classic Brasilian music) Rejuvenation (Classic soul/R&B, and all types of 'black' music of the past) As well as many others. You can also catch PHC repeats on Sunday noon, and the NPR news shows in mornings and afternoons.

WCMF is "Rochester's Classic Rock" and they are part of the Audacy network. Audacy is the former Radio.com. They compete with iHeart and others. The transmitter is located on Pinnacle Hill in Brighton, Monroe County, and its studios are located at High Falls Studios in downtown Rochester. I had no problem getting them for quite some time as I drove west towards Buffalo.
