Reverend Condon married our daughter at Randall Oaks Country Club in Dundee yesterday. He's very organized and delivered a lively ceremony which included communion for anyone willing to receive it. It was a sacred &reverent, yet contemporary ceremony that lasted about 35 minutes start to finish. He met with the couple once then again came to the rehearsal before the actual ceremony. His price is very reasonable. His wife is so sweet too. Would definitely recommend Reverend Condon for performing a wedding ceremony. read more

Reverend Condon officiated my wedding. When we met, he seemed nice & kinda cheerful. He offered the initial meeting, a 2nd meeting, pre-cana materials, the rehearsal & wedding for $375. It all seemed very up-and-up & we agreed. I contacted him about 4 months before the wedding to ensure the rehearsal date & time would be ok. He didn't even remember or have noted whether we had met. He told us he had the wedding date, just couldn't remember whether we had an in-person consultation. Ok, whatever. Then, a couple months later when I emailed to arrange a 2nd meeting, he asked if we could skip the 2nd meeting & rather than go through the ceremony details we could just email them. This should have been a red flag, but I thought "OK, I can roll with this." Next, since I was having my brother do both readings, I asked if we could have them split up & he said no, because it makes the flow of the ceremony seem awkward. I've been to a hundred Catholic church ceremonies in which the readings were split, but deferred to his "expertise." He then tells us he won't join us for dinner after the wedding because he is an honored guest at another event. I told him no problem, because he's essentially a stranger to us. However, I think he was disappointed he had committe to the ceremony & made that pretty evident during the whole 20 minutes of his life he spared us to do the ceremony. The day of my rehearsal, we see each other for the 1st time in 9-10 months. He brought his weirdo brother-in-law (he said "brother", but I think it was an in-law). I seriously think this guy was released from prison into the rev's custody. He seems a little, well...soft & also very weird & creepy. Rev. Condon then asks how I want the procession, and I said I was thinking I'd have the bridesmaids walk alone, unless he though walking with the groomsmen was better. He said my way was fine, and then has the guys walk up each on their own & then himself (is he trying to make himself important?) & then the bridesmaids. I ask why the guys are walking up & he snaps at me "Because that's how you want it!" I said I thought the guys would be standing in the front & he kind of snorted & said "Well how do they get there?" I told my mom & brother I didn't understand why he was doing it that why he was doing it that way-it was weird to me. They told me to let him know, but after he snapped I was hesitant. My brother later went over & asked him about it & he told him "Because that's what the bride wants." The next day, I called him to discuss it before the wedding & asked if we could just have the guys socializing, & then they'll stand up front when we're ready to start the procession. I told him we'd send someone to let them know when we were ready. He seemed a little put off by my asking but said we could do whatever I wanted. I don't know what the big deal is--I've seen it done that way many times before! My brother was doing the ceremony music & the rev had brought his "brother" again. My brother told me afterwards that the brother wouldn't let him set up and practice; he kept pestering him with questions & chit chat. Then he went over to his girlfriend & said "I took a picture." She said "Of me?!" and he said "No, of your boyfriend," and showed her the pic. SO. WEIRD. During the ceremony Reverend Condon never once smiled. He seemed so nice when we met, and yet here he was actually rolling his eyes during the closing reading! Every picture is him looking bored & put out just being there. The next day both my brothers told me how as soon as he got there he began complaining to them of how I had "changed everything" and how it was "stupid." He asked them "Does she expect us to magically organize when they're ready?" My brothers, of course, said yes--how hard is it for him, a groom, & 3 groomsmen to stand in the front of a room when someone tells them it's time? It's not rocket science! But, he told them it was a "stupid idea." What a model Christian. read more

Finding an officiant online was a bit scary to me. We met with and interviewed four different officiants before choosing Rev. Condon. I was drawn to his background story: a Catholic priest who fell in love, left the priesthood and got married. Being raised Catholic but no longer practicing, I wanted a religious wedding but not in a church. Rev. Condon provided the perfect balance between religious and secular. He is very calm, organized and professional with a great demeanor and an exemplary sense of humor. He furnished us with helpful examples for the parts of the ceremony so we could personalize it and was very open to our changes and additions. The ceremony was perfect and he led it with thoughtful grace. We received so many compliments from our guests about him and the ceremony. I can't say enough good things about Rev. Having to plan a wedding that honors my Catholic background as well as my now husband's HIndu religion was very challenging. We admit that we would no longer consider ourselves as practicing Catholics/Hindus but it was important to us (and our family) for our marriage to be recognized in the religion that we group up in (As much as possible). I also know that its very hard if not impossible for a Priest to marry me given my husband's background and that we didnt want a church ceremony. Rev. Dennis was the best option for us given he was a priest, recognized in the Catholic church until he left for another life of being a husband. He gave us the best of both worlds - the Catholic tradition within a modern world where we are uniting two different religions and cultures. He is also very responsive, very caring and offered guidance and flexibility for our actual ceremony outline. Rev. Dennis Condon conducted our wedding and left a really bad taste in my mouth. Every time I think about his role in our wedding, I cringe. The best way to describe him is unprofessional. When we first met with the Reverend, he arrived on time and had materials for us to go through before getting married. He also had a packet of choices for us on what to say during the actual ceremony. Before leaving our initial meeting, he had assumed we were going to choose him, and even told us a story about a couple whom said they were meeting with another officiant and he was offended. Then he proceeded to make sure that we were choosing him to officiate, on the spot. This was my first indicator that he was probably not the right choice for us, but my husband didn't seem to mind. Rev. Condon arrived very punctual to the rehearsal and the wedding ceremony. However during the ceremony he threatened to leave and start before the flower girls arrived because he had another wedding to get to a bit aways away. Not my problem. I am not saying it's okay to be late, but I have been to plenty of weddings that don't start on time. How rude to threaten to leave or be anything but accommodating to the bride and groom. I was so livid and appalled, I could care less what he was saying to us during our ceremony. When I sent him my choices for readings, he stated his concern for our vows sounding too much like our intentions and vice versa. When I reread them, I told them I was okay with them. Apparently, this was not enough for him. During the actual ceremony, he made it a point to state to the audience stating: "I know it sounded like they just read their vows, but those were their intentions. Now we will hear their vows." My husband and I wrote our own vows, which should have been an intimate and endearing moment in the ceremony. Unfortunately, it was not. Instead of listening to my husband say his vows to me, I had to hear the Reverend shout the vows to the entire crowd before my husband repeated it to me. This is my first wedding that I've been the bride, but I'm sure Reverend Condon has been doing weddings for years--Does he not realize that you should probably whisper those to the bride & groom because nobody wants to hear you say them? I thought that was standard protocol, but I guess we should have practiced them at the rehearsal. I thought that was the last straw and it was finally over. I found out, after the fact, that my friend who we initially wanted to officiate the wedding, had shared what would have been his homily for us, with the reverend. Rev. Condon told my friend that he didn't want any input on the homily. That's because the Reverend made no effort to add anything personal. He gave a homily about the four C's recipe to marriage, which I'm sure he delivers at most his weddings. I did not mind his homily, but it just says something about his character when he doesn't want to put effort into a more personal homily when the opportunity presents itself. I can honestly say, Reverend Condon was the worst part of my wedding. I regret that he was our officiant. Luckily, everything else went right, so I was not too upset. The events above seemed very unprofessional. I would not suggest having Reverend Condon as your wedding officiant. read more

Ok so I booked the Rev and was so excited cause he was such a sweetheart. He even agreed to baptize my future husband a month before the wedding and was super nice then too. But at our rehearsal he took over everything and was so grumpy. I understand that organizing or getting a large number of people together to listen is difficult but there is no need to snap at people or even snap at the flower girls. For goodness sake they are only 3 years old. He proceded to tell everyone when they were goingdown th isle in what order, so i stepped in and say "wait i kinda of have something else in mind" and he sarcastically says fine whatever you want YOUR the BRide. I didnt appreciate the sarcastic attitude he had towrds me but I am a very patient person. So he starts shouting at the bridesmaids that they cant be walking that fast down the isle when the girls are very well aware of the routine and pace but he shouts at my MOH and tells her what are you going to run down the isle so she gave him a sarcastic answer. So when I tell him that i want the ushers to roll out the runner he starts snapping at me about how its stupid and dangerous and gets in the way and they never work out and to do away with. i told him No cause i want it incorporated into my ceremony and he says Fine with an attitude cause Im not doing things his way. So as I turn away he starts making a funny face and rolling his eyes behind my back in front of my family and the bridal party. I really didnt appreciate hearing from my family members at the rehearsal dinner that he was mocking me when I had my back towards him. He was so rushed the whole time and it seemed he didnt want to be there and took off 20 minutes into the rehearsal. WTF? I would have fired him if he wasnt already paid up prior to that day not to mention that where would I find another minister in 2 days and noone was going to ruin my wedding day because they simply lack courtosy. My final thoughts are yes he was very rude after he was paid and yes he was very bossy and snippy that even the Hall complained about him, but i will say that had he not stepped in and took charge maybe just maybe things might have been a bit unorganized because everyone was too scarred to get yelled at by him if they messed up but if i could do it over again he would never get hired. As it is he was suppose to baptise my nieces next month and you better believe he's fired. read more

Rev. Condon officiated our wedding in April of this year and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect ceremony and meal blessing! We found Reverend Condon and set up a time to meet twice before the big day. He was incredibly accommodating with meeting times, even driving and taking the train in to the city just to meet with us. He is a former Catholic priest and thus officiates as such. Meaning, he has the appropriate tone, volume, and words for the ceremony - no awkward pauses or fumbling of words. Our ceremony was tailored to our wishes exactly, with Rev. Condon providing advice when we weren't sure how to structure the ceremony. VERY helpful with planning the ceremony. During the ceremony and blessing he even managed to make our entire guest audience smile and laugh which broke the silence and "seriousness" with perfect timing. Reverend Dennis ordained our marriage in August of 2019. He did an amazing job from start to finish. Our first meeting was nice because he took the time to get to know us as a couple and the packets he gave us truly helped my husband and I to get to know each other individually. Being able to customize our ceremony was very cool being that we both come from different religions and backgrounds. We both share very similar beliefs and wanted to intertwine our cultures which Dennis made possible. He translated our ceremony both in English and Spanish which was beneficial because many of our guests only speak Spanish! I especially loved that Rev. Dennis sent me reminder emails throughout the year and the night before our wedding day to make sure I didn't forget any of the things we needed for the ceremony. The day of our wedding, Dennis came to the bridal room and collected all the important items so that I didn't have to worry about them which was so relieving. We had a beautiful wedding, thanks to Reverend Condon. We got married on a gorgeous setting of a golf course along with having a religious setting of receiving the Eucharist, prayers, and readings. Dennis officiated my wedding this past July and I can't say enough great things about him. He is perfect for any wedding really as he caters to each individuals needs or wants. We met Dennis a few times before our wedding to go over everything. He was accommodating and met us in places that were convenient for my husband and I. We found Rev. Condon on line, which was a bit intimidating. We reached out & found out that he had availability for our date in August 2015. We met in person and immediately felt comfortable. Reverend Condon is thoughtful, approachable, considerate and very open. We kept in contact via email and he stressed that if we needed anything to please just reach out. You're allowed to create your on ceremony based off a foundation he provides for you, this allows you to make your ceremony your own.
