I started as a total beginner years ago. Now with more experience only the guys at L1fe ;) push me harder, filling on my technique and showing me - new exercises, easy to repeat as the guys use simple equipment. Equipment you can also easily replace with other objects. Caution! They teach you to use EQUIPMENT NOT MACHINES which is AWESOME as you can continue with your workout wherever you are. You are not forced to find machines to successfully complete a good workout. Most people are scared of gyms because they lack of knowledge how to attain a goal, which excercise, how often etc. and especially how to use the equipment and machines. Mostly stuff in gyms tell you "to us machines as u can´t do anything wrong using them", but this is a misconception! If you really wanna learn something about the right movements, feel secure, encouraged all way long and be successful... You should stop looking for the next best offer in a gym BUT rather invest and become part of the amazing performance driven, fun filled exercises, always mindful and engaging friendly team, truly inspiring!!! Since the German cuisine is leaving such a little margin for my healthy eating…read morehabits, I figured out quickly ever since I moved in Frankfurt that I have to compensate in some way :P Crossfit was the kind of sport that back in Milan allowed me to do so: it is tough, it is collective and requires me to do it regularly in order not to feel a pussy during a workout :D My first experience at Crossfit am Main was disastrous, and you will eventually read about in one of my next reviews. Here, I could find a whole different world. Everything is super clean, functional, and easy to access :) Not only it is easily reachable with the public transport (ubahn stop right in front of the place) but also has a nice private parking for car owners Hangers for coats at the entrance, coffee machine and water dispenser: finally some comfort after the tough work! Dressing rooms are plain but nice, and you can set your bag in the Ikea blocks for them to wait after you when you are done. People are very nice, all the trainers speak a perfect English and are very kind in telling you things twice, the first time in German (when you feel bold and pretend to be able to understand it) and then in English for you to understand how to distress your body properly :P The software that is used to manage the reservations and workouts is very nice (wodify) and also allows you to see who's going to attend your class, so you can try to go with the same people. It also allows you to register your timings and exercises so you can see the small progression you make with your body. Prices are totally in line with the standard of Crossfit (which is not very cheap but totally worth it), say 100€ per month Totally recommended for those who would like to do Crossfit in Frankfurt :) whenever you do, you will find me there, collapsed on the floor!

I was able to make it a few times to work out, and enjoy the amenities. It is a large club with a big 4-lane pool, a separate yoga/classes room, squash courts, a HIIT workout floor, a separate weights and cardio area, plus sauna/steam rooms shared between the mens and womens locker areas. NOTE: The sauna/steam and wellness area is COED!! Unlike American gyms which usually have separate facilities (since people like to sauna and steam butt-ass nekkid). Here in Europe you'll find butt nekkid folks sharing space, like God intended...I'm just not 100% sure I was prepared on my second time at the gym for a few husky older German women to join me in the shower. But oh well, I have a story for the grand kids someday and God made us all...so there. I used the weight floors, and took advantage of the training floor downstairs. The had nice equipment, most of the employees spoke enough English for me to get around okay, the men's locker room was nice with hair dryers and all kinds of stuff, and there's a small café upstairs to get a protein shake when done. All in all a pretty good gym experience.

The studio sounds great at…read morefirst but actually the it was almost always full, the air condition is too strong and it is very likely to get sick out of it (especially in the room where the courses take place). Also, in the studios as well as in the changing rooms a smell of strong, swet deaodorant is so strong that it is hard to breath. The hygienic aspect of the showers and swimming pool i am leaving with no comment - take care of your skin there! Additionally, (the most important) the personal service is not any helpful and absolutely not customer friendly oriented. Be careful what you sigh and always ask (and re- ask) for confirmations in written. The contact with FF is very hard- they never answer.
