I used the production team to create a video to promote my Pest Control Business. I had envisioned a shot in a way that required a drone. The event was time sensitive as we were actually performing Termite treatment for multiple historic building in downtown San Jose. When the drone was supposed to take flight we realized that it was not allowed as it was right in the direct flight path of planes landing at the San Jose airport. The videographer was awesome even following the crew in the sub areas of the buildings recording them while they performed the treatments. Albert and I brainstormed a lot to get the shot that I was seeking everything from renting a 2 story bus, to a truck with a crane attached to using a scissor lift. We settled on a long pole with a 4K camera attached to the top and using it while holding on to it while driving in a vehicle. It was very close to the shot I had been seeking. make sure you are 10000% clear with Albert. I can't speak to the studio as a whole, or anything other than a product shoot, but this gentlemen ignored clear instruction and then sent us useless work. We were offered a reshoot by the admin but then Albert stated later that he'd charge us for him to get it right. My advice is keep it simple and not expect great results. I've tried several times over to politely make it right but the only response seems to be "pay me". So you pay regardless of quality. read more

We knew we wanted to have a full recording of our ceremony instead of a 2-3 min recap of the entire wedding day so we could go back and relive the moment, hear the vows, see all of the expressions and hear the cheers, and Albert was able to do just that! He was able to also weave in our guests arriving and capture some behind the scene portraits as well. It is so special to us to have our entire ceremony captured! He had 2 cameras set up which added to the edit. And although we got married on the beach in Santa Barbara on a windy day, the sound quality still held up pretty well considering. The only thing we wish would have been captured was the reveal of my husband seeing me when he turned around (but our guests blocked the shot). But it is a video we will absolutely treasure forever! Albert was exceptional!! Definitely gives you more bang for your freaking buck to say the least! This man was an absolute joy to work with! He arrived promptly and even left an hour later at no charge just because he was enjoying our wedding reception so much! He stayed for 10+ hours taking photos and we are MORE THAN HAPPY with the results he got for us! Our wedding day went by in the blink of an eye but Albert was able to capture our memories that will last us a lifetime. We can't be more thankful or appreciative of him and all of his hard work he did for us. He even came riding on his motorbike which gave him the ability to take awesome pictures of us to/from the wedding and reception in the incredible car we had rented for that day! We hired De Noise to cover my parents Golden Wedding Anniversary celebration, which we prepared and organized for a year. The outcome of the video was very frustrating. We're all disappointed, because the videographer stood right by the side of the main entrance door the entire mass, from entourage march till the very end. He failed to capture the entirety of the bridal march, he took the video and paused and record and paused, in that manner, missing the highlights of the event. He just placed the camera on the tripod and left it there the entire wedding, while he was sitting on a chair and texting. He failed to capture the renewal of vows. During the entire wedding, only the back and the head of my parents were captured. If there's a zero or minus 5 (-5), that's the rate I will give. Do not hire them, or you'll very very upset. I don't usually write negative comments, but I'm doing this to avoid another family from having the same bad and unpleasant experience that my family had with their very unsatisfactory videography service. read more

We hired DeNoise to cover a two-day 400 person event conference. This is a typical job for us though our first time working with DeNoise. At the last minute, were very surprised to find out that Albert wasn't shooting the event himself as that was the impression we'd been given. He assured us that the replacement was an excellent event photographer.  The photographer was a huge source of frustration to a number of staff on site. While demanding a locked room for her computer (as opposed to the production space that was guarded at all times) she still chose to carry her large backpack with her so that she was bumping into people and chairs while moving through a quiet room during plenaries. She had no sense of how to not be in the center of everything. She would stand so tall right in front of the podium that she was blocking the tight shot of the broadcast cameras behind her more than a half dozen times. She was a major distraction throughout the event. We were very frustrated with the selects we received on day one. I explained that the images were not exposed correctly and the white balance was all over the place. I asked for the photographer to shoot a little more wide open and to try to address the camera shake that we got a lot of. The photographer said: "Albert will fix them in post, I didn't really have time to do anything with them." As a photographer myself, those words bothered me a great deal.  She continued to shoot the second day and I assumed (incorrectly) that she'd taken note of the poor quality from the day before and would pay closer attention to her images. What I didn't realize was that the reason for the exposure problems and lack of sharpness was that she thought her camera was set to Program but it was really set to Manual.  Almost a week after the event, I got the first 468 images. The overwhelming majority (94%) either didn't meet basic standards for sharpness, composition, and shot choice or they had exposure and white balance problems that made them unusable. These issues needed to be done in camera, not in post. When I tried to figure out what was wrong with the images I found that all of the EXIF data had been stripped from the files. I raised the question about why the files had none of this data. I got no answer (though the second half of the files I received were not stripped). When I did get files with EXIF information, the problems began to reveal themselves more systematically. Virtually everything was shot at 1/60th and 1/100th, which would be totally fine if she weren't at 70mm and 200mm so often. This explains why there are so many shots showing camera shake. The data shows that at minimum more than 200 images were shot at a focal length requiring more than 1/100th sec shutter speed (everything shot at more than 100mm), which she never used. The files show that the event was shot almost exclusively at ISO1600 (again, manual aperture changes but virtually no changes in shutter speed). This meant that almost everything in the ballroom was underexposed and almost everything in more well lit areas was overexposed.  As for what I would expect in post, nothing had been done. Albert admitted that he hadn't actually done the work and later sent an edited batch. The "edited" versions had no exposure fixes, and in many cases were worse than the original. The white balance was often a severe problem. Auto white balance meant that every single image had to be edited manually. Sample taken from the exact same podium sign under the exact same lighting had radically different temperatures and hues, even in sequential images. This is not the level of photography I expect for $2400. It's unprofessional, and shows little skill. Any one of these problems could probably have still left us with plenty of usable images but all of these problems converging left us with a couple dozen that could be used in a pinch but nothing for us to be proud of. That's out of the ~1000 he gave us, who knows how many he held back! Albert indicated that he had personal matters that prevented him from doing his side of the work but claimed that complaints about the quality of the work was irrational. He indicated that this is illustrative of the work he does and that he stands behind it. I have worked with countless photographers and have become friends with many of them following events. I hold their work in the highest regard and have never, ever worked with a photographer as incompetent, nor a photography studio owner as unwilling to put in the minimum effort for a job. read more

I was given 10 pictures by email and I chose one that was my favorite to be touched up. The touched up image was done quickly and was exactly what I was looking for in a headshot. My wife turned 50, around the same time as her Mum turned 75, and they couldn't be together to celebrate, as they were halfway around the world from each other. How to have one big virtual party combining friends and relatives in the US and Australia to celebrate was a dilemma until I found DeNoise Studios. We had parties at both locations and DeNoise created a virtual link that made my wife feel like she was in Australia and her Mum feel like she was in the US. Then they made a lovely video of the virtual party, to our favorite music, so that we could remember that lovely night for years to come. DeNoise came in and rehearsed with the crew from Australia in advance, sorted out all the technical details, and helped direct things such that birthday candles were blown out on two continents at the same time. My wife loved every minute, as did everyone at both locations, and the question I was most asked afterwards was how in the world did you make that happen. After doing a yelp search i found this guy to have lots of great reviews. However, here is a laundry list of why this project turned out to be very stressful, expensive, useless and a waste of valuable time and effort. 1. When I arrived the door was locked with a 10 x 10 little sign with a broken door bell. I walked around for 10 minutes trying to find a way in. It is under a freeway in a area that just looks scary. When I called him there was no answer. Bad sign. 2. He was unapologetically late for my model and I. Bad sign again. 3. When we finally got in the facility it was like a dusty dungeon with filthy carpeted floor. Never mind how decrepit the building is its broken windows. More scary. 4. After it was all done and i looked at the work I complained about his quality, so he tried to touched it up again. However , the videos and pictures made me look like i was a dead person in a morgue because it was too bright. I cannot believe how bad it looks. 5. This was for an exercise video and some still pix and thus it was very important to have proper alignment. Most of the pictures show either hair in my models face, too white, too brown, too dark red, posture off, no muscle definition, product misaligned etc.etc. Horrible! This again, was after he touched it up. It was just absolutely terrible. My marketer and I have to now scrap all of his work because it is just horrible. I have requested a refund but he will not refund me and insists there is nothing wrong with his videos nor his pictures. I had to immediately hire another guy. Fortunately, this guy was ready, knew what to do and followed through. I am very happy with his work. He took a high quality picture and touched it up properly and professionally. He was way cheaper , faster, knew exactly what to do and i got the picture back in ten minutes - perfect! Here were the gross problems with DeNoise to the point I cannot use it at all: 1. Very poor lighting technique... made me look like a ghost 2. Very poor execution of body alignment.... head off, hair in the face, body alignment off, product alignment off. 3. Photoshop ability was non-existent 4. Unprepared, unkempt and unprofessional without a proper skill set to handle a job he didn't know how to do 5. Poor communication to allow a customer to be so disappointed to now seek legal action to receive my money back. He has no professional concept of proper lighting, angles and photoshop. I am disappointed. Beware of sight unseen before you buy and don't believe everything you read. read more
