I chose dental healing arts because they are a biological dentist. I went in to get my root canals removed. I also had a sore tooth that I was concerned about. They briefly looked at the sore tooth and then did a "CT" of my mouth. I was told that I had a sinus infection that was dangerous and needed to be tended to immediately. I returned a day or two later and had 2 teeth extracted. I was nervous and they were not attentive to my anxiety, no nitrous oxide nor any iv sedation. During the procedure of removing 2 teeth, both teeth were broken to remove them, this is NOT unusual. Dr. Fotek stated that the fibrinogen they spun out of my blood was not the volume that he had hoped for. Prior to my post op check I had a number, 3 or 4, pieces of what I though were tooth due to the broken teeth during the extraction. I was informed by Dr Fotek it was bone not tooth that was migrating through the outside of my gums. I paid a lot of money to have the procedure completed under the biological dentist protocols. After I returned to see Dr. Fotek for my post op appt. I requested a partial refund as I am on Clopidogrel and i felt it was contraindicated to be on the drug before having PRF. I was refused my partial refund and I am seeking out another biological dentist to complete my implant procedure. My confidence was impacted. I feel that my procedure should have been done after I discontinued the drug for a period of time. I worked in critical care for 30 years and when I questioned Dr. Fotek on the drug effecting my fibrinogen count he began to lecture me on platelets and fibrinogen. I simply walked out and wanted to put this in the rear view. I wanted a partial refund and I would have been happy to move on and put this behind me. A place truly all about money!!! RUN, don't walk, run from this place! To quote a fellow Yelp review, "it's dental office like this that ruins the image of biological dentistry as a whole". So true! I came here after just learnt about biological dentistry, and they are the only one certified by IABDM in the area. From the moment I walked in, this place presented itself as an extremely pushy cross-selling machine. From the facial (yes, facial!) I might be interested in, to the antioxidant pills they push onto you without any explanations how it's related to dentistry, not to mention all the toothpaste/mouth rinse/ tongue scrapper/etc. they took right off the shelf and put right in front your nose to buy. The "1.5-hour health consultation" was a total joke, looking through the intake questionnaire for 5 minutes and suggesting Vitamin D pills were the whole scope of it. They did take 3D images of the teeth, on top of the x-ray (for a hefty fee of course), then they went through the 3D images in seconds, to count the spots on your teeth, and came up with a grossly overpriced "treatment plan". You can not bypass the deep cleanings before you can schedule the next normal teeth cleaning they say, and if you have a small cavity and a tiny dent on the same tooth, they charge twice to work/fill this same tooth! And if you only wanted the cavity attended to and ignore the tiny dent (that most dentists wouldn't bother to fill), you can NOT! You have to pay twice if you want that tooth checked out at all! And get this, after the appointment if you want a copy of the x-ray images (specifically included in the initial appointment) for your own record, they charge you $125 to email you ONE SLIDE!!! Essentially making you pay twice. I have never been asked to pay to get my own medical records, EVER!!! I could go on. But this should give some general ideas what this place is all about. From the doctor to the staff, including the front desk people, everyone constantly pushes for sale for something. When you take their offer of "complimentary" things such as ozone water, they came back with a tiny cup of water with a cold unwelcome vibe. Just because they use ozone water and some self-claimed non-toxic products for teeth cleaning doesn't necessarily qualify this place as "biological dentistry". To me, being "biological" and "holistic" came with an elevated level of customized care for each individual patient, and this place could NOT be further away from those virtuous principles. This is a sub-par dental office dressed up in pretty names, trying to maximize profit for themselves any which way they can. Luckily, I saw through the veil, and ran as fast as I could out of there, before being conned tens of thousands of dollars. From what I read multiple times on Yelp, they are not even capable to fix your teeth correctly. I have no interest to find out about that whatsoever. read more

Absolutely terrible experience! I fell for natural approach to dentistry of Dr Fotek. But! Definitely did not get what I paid for! I got scheduled for 2 dental cleaning. For both of them they charged me ahead of time without even performed service (never happened before with any other dentist). Their service is extremely overpriced for the quality that it offers. It took over 45 min to take pictures of my teeth (which typically takes no longer than 10min for the same type of work) by possibly an intern or a new employee. The pictures came out blurry but they were not retaken. Super expensive holistic consultation by Fotek was about $350 (is not covered by insurance) which didn't provide much value except recommendation of natural dental products :( I was assigned for deep cleaning for my gums which was priced over $1600 !!!!! and my insurance could only cover $200 (I was told that it will be 50% so I agreed to have that service, but insurance company couldn't cover 50% of the overpriced service). Was planning to do some cosmetic work with her but looking at her prices, quality and costumer treatment- no way! Such a rip off for average quality service! So regret about wasted money and time :( Would not recommend! :) read more

The office is really nice, decent location in a very good building but that's about where the positives end. The front desk staff is condescending and pushy - making me feel like I'm about to get a used car. They push procedures on you that you don't need . I go there for regular cleanings and never once had the same technician cleaning my teeth. So if I like the technician, too bad, won't get them again next time. In the 10-12 times I went there over the years, I saw Dr. Fotek maybe 4-5 times. She's never there or is too busy to come check my teeth. What am I paying for? A senselessly and unimaginably cruel office. Called the police to escort me out of their office for standing at the counter asking questions regarding my records. Only once they arrived, did they release the last of my images (as far as I know). I was also told my records were sent to my new dentist. Just one of their many lies. Dr. FOTEK greeted me with a big smile as I walked in. Receptionist where friendly and and helpful. The place looks very prestige. I was overall very happy with my visit there. BE AWARE of this practice! Office Manager with poor people skills. People that makes appointments does not know what evaluations are. She needs a holistic aproach herself of personality. Specially if she needs to deal with people. The staff is not clear and when you book appointments they offer you one thing and then they gave you another. I book a app for a full evalutaion with a scan,and I was never giving that! I left with an xray and saw the Dr. he gave me a referal for a general dentist. I had to leave so I paid and called the next day to explain well how I felt. The office manager stared putting words on my mouth and being defensife and obnosious. Kept talking over me said that she will call me back and never did and to top it off she hang up on me!. She only offer me to come back to the office that way Dr. Fotek could answer all my questions at no cost. I felt clear about his recomendations, but for me it was not fair that I paid 200$ for a full evaluation. That I did not mind paying that if I was getting what I was offered over the phone. I felt robbed and they did not care! I did not dennied coming back to talk to the Dr. because that was not need it. Is very upsetting, specially if they show that they dont care. I think that this things need to be clear once making the app. That way clients do dont get disaointed. Dr Fotek is a great Dentist! Very thoughtful through and took more than substantial time with me. The office staff, on the other hand, was brutal, difficult and treated me like cattle. Did services that were not covered by my insurance and didn't inform me of the fees I would receive later. Then my insurance was all of a sudden no longer accepted there, so when I finally found a new dentist and asked for them to send over my X rays they beat me up over a tiny balance before they would release my records. When I asked to speak tot he manager I was told: "she was not available". I had a tooth that I was told by another dentist would have to stay discolored as there was nothing they could do and she went on in and fixed that little sucker and it's white again. No root canal... just good ole Holistic approach. The office is very organized and streamlined. Very friendly staff... state-of-the-Art equipment I'm very, very pleased. Any dental fear I may have had ( I.e., Dental PTSD) is completely gone because of Dr Fotek!!! read more

I am a 58 year old woman who has been a patient of dentists throughout this country and abroad. To date, I have never encountered a dentist of Dr. Fotek's caliber. She removed a mouthful of large amalgam fillings which were between 46-48 years old...replacing them with composites. She was very concerned about saving each tooth and worked diligently. Each tooth was able to be restored with beautiful natural looking composites. The procedures were painless...even the amalgams that required injections for the front teeth! In addition, she performed bonding on several teeth and created a precise well fitting set of upper and lowere bridges and along with a night guard. Her chairside manner, ethics, tremendous fund of knowledge, coupled with her incredible artistic skills is what qualifies her to be a dentist of the highest caliber. Worst experience dealing with an office manager ever. I felt pressured into getting additional treatment and after my visit with them, I didn't feel like I was treated well and went for 2nd opinion and that dentist found plaque on my teeth that should have been removed with the cleaning I had just had. When I called to dispute my charges and EOB I was met with an automatic attitude by the so called office manager who refused to even let me finish a sentence!
