Do not give them any money!!! The office owes me money due to them overcharging me. I have been trying to get it back since September. Every time I call, I speak with someone different and no one ever has any answers other than they will look into it and call me back and they never do. As many people are with dentists. Now I am having to pay for more extensive work to be done that should've been addressed years ago. I went to have a tooth extracted 3 weeks ago. I was such a traumatic experience for me. I was taken to a chair.. They did not have individual rooms but partial dividers. My chair's upholstery was so torn, it apparently was visited by Edward Scissor Hands . The Dentist was overbooked and I was the last patient [ Never book an appointment at the end of the day] He displayed anger and lack of empathy when I expressed how painful it was. Our kids Orthodontist, Dr Krause, is wonderful. The Orthodontia staff is wonderful. The oral surgery side is a different story. Took my son in for what was supposed to have been a consultation for having a wisdom tooth removed. Once we got there, we realized that they were planning on removing it. The surgeon asked if we wanted to have them all removed as we were there and my son was going to be put under anyway. We had them run our insurance, and they came back with our out of pocket at $1200. I asked them point blank several times if that was going to be the final bill and that I wouldnt get another bill down the road and they told me and my wife flat out that no, this was it, nothing more, so we decided to do it. And wouldnt you know about 2 months later I get another bill for $991. I have now been dealing with the billing dept for the last 5 months trying to get this resolved, each time with them telling me they are looking into and that I would not be turned into collections. Now today, Saturday Feb 11th, I get a "final notice" letter telling me that I have 10 days from the statement date to pay in full or be turned into collections, oh and by the way, the statement date? was Feb 3rd - 8 DAYS AGO, so now I have until Monday to pay this and being as its the weekend, I can not contact anyone at Dental Works. I wrote a review about dental refresh in Austintown that was absolutely horrible and after what I went through there I finally went out to Dental works in Boardman and it was the opposite of Refresh Dental. Everyone at dental works was polite and respectful to me and it was organized and everyone did there job in a order that it was supposed to be done. If I could give zero stars, I would. I have already told everyone who has brought up braces where NOT to go. We chose a payment option for my son's braces that was $1200 down and 120/month. .... he has had braces on since September. Two. I repeat 2 payments have come out. They cannot give me a statement, I cannot pay online. No one knows how much we owe. Thank freaking God I kept receipts. Not one person in this office can tell me how to make a payment other than we'll take cash but can't do a receipt and can't take an HSA and don't know why your monthly payment hasn't come out. I am ashamed to have ever started going here for a commitment like braces. They are embarassing and unprofessional. Filing a complaint with better business bureau. First, they seem to think that it is their patients responsibility for their Covid related expenses. They want to put that burden on the patients instead of on their company where it belongs. Why should we pay for their masks, gowns, etc? Second, the dentist I saw although very nice in his demeanor, did not appreciate the situation presented and was willing to do an easy and quick fix. The dentist was friendly however the dental staff was not. The office staff was very helpful with scheduling and billing. I have never in my 37 years of life had a worse cleaning. The office was unkept and there was dirt on the examination chair. Also, there were bugs in the lights and stains on the ceiling. This place is one of the reasons people hate dentists. Had an appointment to have a wisdom tooth pulled. Beforehand, was told that I needed a first appointment just to sign papers (which sounds odd) but was told that my insurance would cover it. WRONG. I got charged just to go in and sign papers. This place is a rip off. Making you schedule multiple appointments just to charge you more money. To repeat: I got charged over $100 just to sign papers. Then when I talked to the surgeon, he didn't ask if I had any questions and they didn't seem to care about the customer. Only one person seemed to be pleasant there. I cannot say enough words to thank the dentist, hygienists, and the entire staff at this DentalWorks. Our 7 year old son was completely traumatized by another area dental practice when he was younger, and getting him to the dentist for even a cleaning has been horrible for all of us. We have been very slowly getting him to be ok with just going for cleanings and at the last one they noticed a cavity in an adult molar, so of course we had to get it filled. This child was so scared of the dentist that he would worry himself sick for days before his cleaning visits. Thank you all so much, especially Kelly, Nancy, and Dr Delgatta for making it so comfortable for him to go to the dentist at your office that he is no longer scared of going. Watch out, the biggest rip off Dental company around. They suckered me into telling me that my insurance would cover the majority of my $1100.00 plus bill and that my out of pocket would be less than $200.00, I then said well the only way I would do this is if that's all that I have to pay because there's no way I would do this Deep Tooth Cleaning & that I couldn't afford to do it otherwise. They assured me that would be the case. So I then said go for it, because according to them I needed it. Well received my bill and statement from my insurance and now I have to pay the balance. I did try talking to the office Manager but that was just a waste of time as of course I should of known better & read all the small print in my medical plan she stated, even though based on the date of my policy and the information that was in there computer was what they where going by. Bottom line is that there's much more to this sad story of Dentalworks much more. Wouldn'teven work with me on this and I have been a patient of there's for year's, ( NOT EVEN A $1.00) OFFERED ME A FREE ELECTRIC TOOTH BRUSH) WOW!. Now I have to pay them near $500.00 more. Dr Pat and the entire staff are the best! Service is second to non and Brenda runs a tight ship in which the customer care is job # 1.
