We were transferred to this group from another orthodontist who left his prior practice. The transfer process could have been smoother but care was given once we got through that. The in-office experience has been positive and the space itself is clean and comfortable. A few of the patient rooms have more than one patient in them and that's weird and somewhat awkward but otherwise no complaints. read more

Dr. Shahin Madi, is a ninja! He has a great sense of humor and made my procedure go by fast and he even took the time to update me while he was working (that makes all the difference in the world!). I blinked, and my procedure was over! Very wise and talented doctor! If you have a procedure needing to get done with Dr. Madi, you're going to be in the best hands!! His assistant (I am so sorry, I forgot her name- but she is the really pretty lady with perfect almond shaped eyes, great eyelashes, and the best smile!!), was absolutely amazing! I told her about my anxiety, and she knew EXACTLY how to keep me calm and at ease! Once again, this office is absolutely the best you will find. I have came to this location for a few years now and always have been treated with TLC! The office staff is so friendly and informative on all the work/pricing. I have major dental anxiety and they were so reassuring it made me feel cared for! Our kids now go to the same location but the kid side and they LOVE the dr's and assistance. I needed to get into the dentist and went into this office last week. I had seen Dr. Mcdougal a few years back at another office and called Dentist of Gilbert Crossroads to make an appointment in his new office. It took me awhile to find him, but it was worth it to see him again for my dental needs. Very trustworthy and very down to earth. The staff at the office from the assistant to the hygienist were great. The front desk and finance staff are fantastic, they make you very comfortable and explain every detail of the work and any finance needs that are available. I am very impressed with Dr. Mcdougal and his whole staff. Need a good dental office for good quality care, look no more!! read more

I just read a similar review as mine with the same experience. I wanted to like this new dentist but they are very misleading. I went in for the new patient special for exam, X rays and cleaning. I have been with my dentist for years and years and never have missed a cleaning in 6 months. I have been having a hard time scheduling with my old dentist so I thought I would give this a try. They did the exam and X ray and when time to clean was presented with a $500 bill for deep cleaning and they would not do the regular cleaning as advertised because I needed more. I have never heard this before! This was a waste of time and so misleading after I verified they would do a cleaning on the phone and with the dentist. Once they get you in there they will try to sell services that I am not sure are needed as this was all new to me. They refunded my $59 which was not the point as I now am without a cleaning and spend almost 2 hours for no results. I believe this is how they operate by uncharging and to get away without services that day. read more

I have never been up sold more in my life. I went in for a cleaning and was told I needed a deep cleaning, laser treatment, and antibacterial treatment. All of this would run about $600 with insurance. I go for regular cleanings (every 6 months) and never had any issues. When I said I just wanted a basic cleaning that was covered under my Ins, I was told they would no do this. I have never had such a gum probing either. Of course my gums were bleeding when you shove that gum prober that hard! Needless to say, I won't be back!! I saw a new Dentist down the street and he was awesome! No deep cleaning necessary and my gums are healthy! These big dental corps get incentivized for the more they can sell! Not cool!! read more

Doctor Michael McDougal and staff are very professional from the front desk staff, the x-ray technicians to a full staff of dental hygienists & assistants who do deep cleanings and good quality teeth whitenings as well. With all of the high tech equipment, in house Crown molding and a 360° X-Ray machine in his office, Dr McDougal & his staff do an amazing job with it all. They are able make the specialty "Cerecfired" crown and cement it in during your appt. and is much stronger than the traditional porcelain crown. I also want to give a big shout out to the front desk (thumbs up) for the great smile & professionalism, signing guest in, making appointments and especially dealing with insurance companies. We ran into some insurance coverage discrepencies and Dr. McDougal and his staff were able to correct and smooth over the problems for us. Dr. McDougal is the best of the best. He explains everything to you in detail while sitting in his dental chair. We are so glad we switched dental offices. They also have a separate in house children's dental clinic as well. We highly recommend "Dentists of Gilbert Crossroads" and he accepts up to 350 dental insurance companies, so come and check out Dr. McDougal's Dental Practice. You will be glad you did. I've been with Dr. McDougal almost since this office was opened, and he has been nothing but wonderful with his communication, his services and his empathy. I've seen the office staff vary throughout the years, but they've been polite and attentive overall. The one weak spot here would be his hygienist, Vanessa, who, like most hygienists, tends to operate with forced sternness and scare tactics, as in, "if these habits don't improve, we're going to have to do the more invasive, more expensive treatment next time." I was very fortunate recently to have the doctor do most of the services on my previous appointment because Vanessa had to tend to some kind of external matter last minute, and I did not get any of the fear and brow-beating from Dr. McDougal that I normally get from Vanessa and in fact, I heard more of the "things look great - keep up the good work" kind of comments I normally get from him. I was particularly bothered on my visit prior to this when I walked in the office, and, while waiting to be called back, the receptionist was getting bombarded with calls that had to be placed on-hold, and I didn't realize that Vanessa was sitting near the receptionist in stealth mode, crouched low in her chair with her feet up on the desk, and not offering to help out at all. I realize people have their various positions and responsibilities, but would it have been so hard to TRY and help some of the people over the phone? Like I say, I didn't even notice her there at first, which means she didn't even say hi to me when I walked in; it makes one feel as if the patient relationship only exists in the dental chair and nowhere else. I feel more of the "team effort" vibe with the doctor (like I say, he rolled up his sleeves to help me on my last appointment to keep things moving) and would like to see this replicated elsewhere, including Vanessa; if someone needs assistance, even if it's outside of what she deems is her purview, I would like to see her participate a little more. We may have titles attached to ourselves -- like in a job setting -- but it's my opinion that human decency transcends such titles. ANYWAY...all that aside, I have nothing but kind words for Dr. McDougal - I'm glad he's here, and I hope to be a happy patient of his for years and years. read more

I'll start with, I'm absolutely terrified of going to the dentist! Not sure why because I haven't experienced any trauma, but I have horrible anxiety whenever I have to go in. I will also add, it takes me a while to warm up to a dentist and I just started going to this office as of late 2023. My trusted dentist retired a while back and I'll be honest, it took me a couple of years to find a new dentist. My husband recommended them as he started going in early 2023. Anyhow fast forward to my initial visit. I learned that my flossing 2xs/day and brushing my teeth 2-3xs/day did not prevent me from getting periodontal issues. I was so upset with myself for lagging on my cleaning for two years. I really thought I was taking good care of my teeth, but I learned there's nothing better than getting a professional cleaning at least 2xs/yr. I also learned in that first visit that I needed a retreatment on my 20 yr old root canal. I didn't even know that was a thing! I started with a deep cleaning and it turned out to be so easy. Their dental hygienist, Vanessa is efficient and so nice. She answered my questions and understood my concerns. She would ask me often if I was ok. She was great! I'll be honest again, it took me three months (3 rescheduled appts!) to go through with the root canal retreatment. My first appt, they were running late and I HAPPILY volunteered to reschedule. Nobody had to twist my arm on that one! Second time I met with Dr. Cipriano and I told him my anxiety and fears and he told me he could reschedule me and I could take some anti-anxiety meds that would knock me out and I wouldn't have any fear or feel anything. I said yes, please! I don't typically like to take any meds but agreed that this might be the best option for me. Day of the root canal, Dr. Cipriano and his staff were so awesome!! He was so sweet and let me know he would take good care of me and he did! Even though the meds didn't knock me out, I was so calm. Dr. McDougal made my crown while I was getting the root canal done so he was ready to put it in right away. He's also so nice and helpful, explaining everything he was doing. I felt 100% at ease. I realized over the weekend that my crown was just a little high, throwing off my bite and when I called them, they got me in right away to fix the problem. Dr. McDougal took care of it in less than 5 minutes. I was worried that I was being high maintenance but he assured me he was happy I had called because that's what he wants patients to do. I appreciated hearing that so much. I also want to make sure I give a shout out to the front desk staff, they're always so friendly and helpful. They even gave me a nice little cheer as I was leaving my root canal appt! They knew I was terrified as I had rescheduled my appointment twice before! So, if you're anything like me and dread going to the dentist, I 1000% recommend Dentists of Gilbert Crossroads. They're awesome! read more

I felt extremely rushed during my cleaning. The hygienist never once stopped to ask me if I was comfortable or okay... She was double booked so she was speeding through my cleaning to get to the patient that was literally in the other room waiting for her. The other patient had arrived only about 10 minutes after I did. That's definitely not okay to double book a dental hygienist for cleanings. She was nice but so rough and honestly I won't be going back. I have sensitive teeth and after a little while my teeth and gums were painful to the touch. I was hopeful that this place would be great especially due to the great reviews and it's only a minute away from my home but it just didn't work out for me. I deserved better service. read more

We love both of the Gilbert crossroads offices (the kids side and the adults side) when I go in to take my daughter, Dr. Anderson and Vanessa are so sweet and caring towards her and always answers all of my questions. My daughter loves getting the toy at the end! Then on the other side you have Dr. McDougal and his team and it is just as amazing. From the receptionist/office manager to the hygienist to Dr. McDougal himself everyone is just so kind and welcoming. All of the equipment is so updated and I love that McDougal uses "modern/new" technology as well as procedures! Run don't walk to this dentist! Possibly the very best pediatric dentist you will EVER have the pleasure of going to! Does not have the bells and whistles that other kids dentists may have, but that's because they are working of fixing teeth not creating Disneyland! Our son was wrongfully diagnosed with a host of dental work from Islands Pediatric Dentistry and I was beside myself as I thought I had neglected my child's teeth so badly during the pandemic that I was in fact a horrible tooth mother. However after some research, deciding to get a second opinion at this dentist was literally the light at the end of the tunnel. Professional, honest, capable and excellent at calming our child, our son had 1/3 of the work then the previous dentist claimed and he had a positive experience even though he needed the "drink" for some cavity work. Also the costs were normal not inflated like Islands! As a mother I have rarely been so grateful for professionalism in my life. I can't say enough, I LOVE this office!
