Chose not to see me based off of where I live. I would suggest not to call his office. Unprofessional staff.

They have become closer to family over the years. They've seen me at my absolute worst. They've been my support mentally and emotionally. I trust them with my life as they have fought tirelessly for me and have given me my independence back. Dr. Joseph is in the business of resolution AND prevention. I've listened to him (albeit stubbornly at times) and have gotten healthy because of his knowledge, and now I intend to stay healthy because of his preventative care. We don't always like to hear what our doctors have to say about our health and how we might be tending to our own care, but sometimes we really need to hear it in order to be the healthiest we can be. I owe all of my gratitude to this wonderful care team of mine and cherish this relationship we have built over the years. It will be a bittersweet day when he decides to retire. Out of all the doctors and medical staff that I have dealt with over the course of my disease (20 years), Dr Joseph and his team are the very best of the best. They've treated me with respect and compassion, and they genuinely care about the wellbeing of their patients. They call and check on me in between appointments to make sure I am doing well and work tirelessly to find the answers needed. I am so grateful that they are in my life.

I've been hospitlized for 6 days now - she's the consulting GI doctor and has tossed the idea several times that I have Ulcerative Colitis - yet, seems to refuse to confirm the diagnosis with a colonoscopy that even the attending phys and RN's here at the hospital are demanding. DO NOT - and NO this is not my first experience with this quack with the health issues I have but seems to be the only dr in Denton the hospitals use.

My experience with Dr. Vijaya M Dasari at North Texas Gastroenterology was extremely disappointing…read more I had called in advance to inquire if testing for food allergies or sensitivities was available, and I was told that it was. However, when I had my appointment on Friday, September 27th, things quickly went downhill. My appointment was scheduled for 5:15 PM, but I was not seen until 5:45 PM. When I finally met with Dr. Dasari, I expressed concerns about my digestive issues and potential food allergies such as lactose intolerance and gluten sensitivity. Dr. Dasari informed me that there was no way to test for lactose intolerance except through elimination from my diet, which was both surprising and inaccurate. Upon further research and consultation with another gastroenterologist, I learned that their office offers the lactose breath test, a recognized method for diagnosing lactose intolerance. Additionally, I discovered that a blood sugar test and stool acidity test can also identify lactose intolerance. None of these were mentioned during my visit. When I asked more questions to clarify, Dr. Dasari simply responded, "Well, I'm a doctor," as though that should be the end of the discussion. Being a doctor does not necessarily mean all information provided is correct, as this situation clearly demonstrated. Additionally, I asked Dr. Dasari about gluten sensitivity, as I had taken a DNA test that indicated I am a carrier for celiac disease. Instead of addressing this concern thoroughly, she mentioned that a blood test could be done "next time." She then palpated my abdomen and said, "See that your stomach is soft? You're normal." As I continued to express concerns, she dismissed me, laughed at my face to all my questions, and ignored me, following with an awkward silence and failing to provide clear answers. Throughout the consultation, I felt as though my questions were not taken seriously, and I left feeling embarrassed for having raised legitimate health concerns. Dr. Dasari also emphasized "cleansing and eliminating" as a solution and prescribed GaviLyte, advising me to take Miralax daily after that. I understand this advice, but I was looking for a confirmation by a professional and a proper diagnosis. While I understand that this approach could work, I was looking for medical confirmation rather than a self-diagnosis. I have never experienced such a lack of attention from a medical provider. I left the appointment feeling dismissed, devalued, and frustrated with the overall lack of professionalism and attention to my medical needs. I understand that I'm young, but I still have concerns about my digestive system especially since I've had family members who had passed away from related cancers. It was a really sad experience, I still can't believe she laughed at questions of concerns and answering each of them with "I'm a doctor" and that "I'm too young to have any gastrointestinal issues." She told me to come back after I'm 50, which is apparently when gastrointestinal issues start developing. I would not recommend Dr. Dasari especially if you are younger than 50. This was by far the most unprofessional and unproductive experience I have ever had with a healthcare provider. I ended up seeing another gastroenterologist after. I felt heard and was not neglected. I was diagnosed with IBS and I was also given tests to determine my food allergies and was able to confirm all of my questions. Now that I got the proper diagnosis, I am now able to treat it at a younger age and know what to do to prevent potential future health issues to myself.
